Your first game room tour back in the day got me into retro game collecting, and about a decade or more later, I'm still hunting down the good ones, and enjoying them too!
Love the roulette wheel idea. Reality is, there's lifetimes of games and no way to complete them all. Seems like a fun way to make memories with a broad variety of games.
There are few things that make me as happy as watching you talk about PS2 games. A lot of people have said this but the original PS2 collection videos are so important for me. I still remember when I was 12 years old stumbling upon those videos for the first time and it kickstarted my interest in learning more about games. Might sounds overly dramatic but it honestly was a pivotal moment for me.
Ah that makes more sense. I loved that cartoon as a kid and am huge DS collector too and I don't think I have ever even seen a copy of the DS version. The snes version is basically rock n roll racing which is worth playing if you like those types of racers.
Half-Life was such a huge game for me growing up. Hearing that you were able to get back into it and beat both 1 and 2 is so cool. Always fun hearing new people who enjoyed the games!
King's Field IV was nuts to play as a kid back in the day. It scared the crap out of me with its atmosphere and music. I've basically finished it and King's Field II (we're like up to the final bosses), but they're very surreal.
Thank you for the video Pete! I hung out during your Chulip stream and one thing that really stood out about it was the interesting character dialogue.
It’s nice to just see your collection behind you including your Sega Saturn and it looks the same from any back… I haven’t had a chance to see one of your videos in 5 plus years now
Dude i love armored core. I am definitely going to snag a copy of naval ops. Good video thanks Pete. Always enjoy your recommendations of deep cut games.
Armored Core - heard that here. I should have grabbed a couple of the Naval Ops when they were cheap and gathered/available at my local brickfront reseller. My project at the time kept me focused on other titles but now that I can reflect, there were some misses along the way.
Great video once again, Pete! Always super intrigued on the very detailed opinions on the games you've been playing recently! Lot of really solid stuff, looking forward to what's next!
In case you haven't tried it before, I would recommend Moon Remix RPG. It was a Japanese PS1 exclusive but finally got an English release on switch. It's from the same team that made Chulip. Much of the same charm and odd humor, but I felt it was less frustrating and abstruse compared to it's successor.
Yeah, all the Love De Lic games and games developed by some of the devs after Love De Lic folded are fantastic. UFO A Day in the Life is totally worth checking out as well, hoping for a rerelease of that one from Onion Games.
You should try out the Tak and the Power of Juju trilogy, Tak and the Power of Juju Tak 2 the Staff of Dreams and Tak the Great Juju Challenge amazing 3D platformers Pete! :)
@@Thatfruitydude I know there amazing I personally think there better then Jak and Daxter and Sly Cooper! I hope THQNordic remakes Tak 1-3 like they promised fans in 2018 THQNordic needs to #BringTakback
I don’t usually look into games you don’t have something great to say about but ring of red sounded like it could be interesting and damn this game looks cool. I’ve found so many people praising this game. I’m all about unique experiences so I had to get this one.
Chulip is a game that I am very much glad I watched a playthrough of it rather than trying to play it through myself, Seems like a game designed for people that liked early adventure games that had harder puzzles in the way of progress. Good vid!
Just upgraded my PS2 to a SSD and was loading my games then started playing Champions of Norrath yesterday and really had fun. Can’t remember the last time I fired it up for that long. After playing Elden Ring, GOW, Hogwarts, and FF16 the last year, it was good to get back to a very basic game. I will take your recommendation and play Dirge if Cerebus since it has been collecting distance 2007 when I picked up a 360 & PS3.
I'm glad you finally got to play Ring of Red. It is such a great game and I have fond memories of playing this when it came out. Yes the game can be slow and the story is very long, but still a fun game. As long as you know what your getting yourself into, this game can be a great long term strategy saga. 😀 I'm saddened they never made a sequel or successor to this game.
Pete, have you ever played downhill domination on PS2? Actually one of my favorite games of all time. Great atmosphere, tight controls, fast gameplay. It’s a great game
FF7 Remake DLC retcon the whole underground thing. Much more interesting now. There is three games that I would recommend for those looking for similar experiences: Wanted Dead, Dead West and Gungrave Gore. All three running very well on the PS5.
Hey man, do you archive your past livestreams anywhere? There doesn't seem to be too much in terms of old streams on the Twitch channel and I would love to check them out
You gotta check my “Highlights” on Twitch, there’s lots of stuff in there (but sadly a ton of it is lost forever). I also have my VOD channel on TH-cam but it’s lots of horror games and stuff. Search PeteDorr Plays for that.
Yo Pete my PS2 battery just died. So now I gotta set time every time I plug it in. Is it ok to leave the dead battery inside? I personally don't care about the clock. Pretty good video btw! Hope to see more!
My frigging Dirge of Cerberus disc is missing. I’ve been enjoying recently, Rtype final the PAL 50 hertz looks and plays better than 60 hertz. Also The Golden Compass (Sega) and Peter Pan the Crash bandicoot style game. I love Biker Mice from Mars ps2 far from terrible IMO the soundtrack rocks.
I saw the whole video. Great reviews. I am not interested in playing most of what you have played except for Dirge of Cerebrus. I will play that one day. I have played Kings field 2 on PS1 and got bored. I played Half Life 2 on the PS2 because I heard it was great, but I didn't like it. I have played the SIms and didn't like it. Thank you for explaining so well.
I think his love of futuristic racers would put him right at home here. Fantastic soundtrack and once you get the knack of tricks the game is very fun!
Gonna wanna either use the classic PC KB+Mouse or, otherwise, hybrid Dualshock+Mouse(+KB) control schemes the PS2 release supported to maybe help with that.
Wasn't too rough. Used Dualshock+Mouse and keyboard hybrid controls option it supports on PS2 - same for Unreal Tournament and Red Faction II. Dirge of Cerberus is awkward with mouse in 3rd-person, tho.
I love PS2 and play a ton of it these days due to a challenge I do on my streams, so I just like to talk about the stuff I play while it’s still fresh in my mind. I find it better to talk about what I’m playing as soon as possible so I can give more accurate reviews/impressions.
You were a big influence on me collecting PS2 games back in 2008.
It’s always a good day when the goat uploads.
Dopamine time
PS2 is cool and stuff, but it would be awesome it you also covered the GameCube, Xbox, and Dreamcast.

Been watching since I was in middle school… I’m going on 27
@@jackkrick6936he’s currently doing a PS2 themed challenge on his twitch channel. He’s going to do other consoles eventually when he finishes this one

This is the only person that can make me sit up and take notice of games iv never heard of
Pete the legend... inspired me to collect games when I was a little kid! Thanks bro
I see a new Pete Dorr video, I click. It’s that simple.

Classic Pete vid, always enjoy them. Would appreciate some gameplay or even screenshots
That Ps2 library is ridiculous
Biker mice from mars on SNES is a great racing game.
Yes that’s the one I meant to say, if anything the DS one is even more obscure than PS2, lol
Ah that makes more sense. I loved that cartoon as a kid and am huge DS collector too and I don't think I have ever even seen a copy of the DS version. The snes version is basically rock n roll racing which is worth playing if you like those types of racers.

A video of Pete Dorr talking about PS2 games while I'm making my way through an RPG. Yup, feels just as good as it did 10 years ago 🙂
Happy console gamer was right... your opinion matters!! I would love to see you dropping videos on a weekly basis again.

Methodically button mashing my way... beautiful
Loving the PS2 content as always.

Dirge of Cerberus is definitely a unique game. It get's too much hate tbh.

How funny, I was just wondering the other day if Chulip will ever get any kind of re-release. That game is pure mind-crack in the best way.
some gameplay footage will be much and much appreciated

Most people hate the Xen levels in Half Life. Must have been tough with a controller
KB+mouse or Dualshock+Mouse(+KB) on PS2
Pete, what do you think of the vampire-survivor-like genre which is a subgenre of rogue-lites??
The myth
I did not realize that durge of cerebus game I kind wrote it off as crappy back in the days

Pete have you ever tried Kinetica?
I did a long time ago. Wasn’t really my thing at the time but want to give it another shot at some point (PS4 port)

do you ever play video game just to play video games for fun or do you only play them for twitch views and stuff?
PeteDork xD
Now im just wondering if you drew a peen in that drawing/pokemon game lol no judgement here. I'm a serial peen drawer myself.

A guide book for a kissing game....WTF
you did not have a lot to say abotu dirge of cerberus
