It was an absolute pleasure to host Greyson for this special event! 🥁
It speaks so much for Greyson that he doesn't act from the stage, but sits in the middle of his students, just like one of them...big man🙏
Greyson is the future of drumming he is a young prodigy and literally has the world at his fingertips
absolute gift to have this masterclass on TH-cam!!
Really cool. Greyson is super talented and an amazing musician. Thanks for sharing!
really cool concepts here and good breakdown!
Thank you for this
did it all for you user eu8dt1cf4w
I hung out with him a few weeks ago. Such a nice guy. The type of guy that isn't distracted when he talks with you. He is very present.
Love that playing starting just before 1hr 29. Fluid or what! Astonishing solo after even with the odd dropped stick and stick collisions. Hes just playing around at top speed.
One of our favorite parts too🤘🏻
Thank you 🙏
Amazing insight into drumming & life 🙏🏻 Much respect
Down to earth and real
I’m so pleased he referenced Mitch Mitchell, the man was a beast, especially to play behind and complement the great Virtuoso James Marshall Hendrix ❤🎉
Very interesting 😉👍👍👍🥁
Insane
Show!toca muito!!
Dude is a fucking monster love watching him
Rupps RULES!
Love how the audience feet tap in time...Enjoyed this..I didn't think the Pesrl kit did it justice how it was tuned..Shame with a bit of tweaking it could have sounded awesome..
I think those are Greysons favourite trousers!
The man is good, very good
Thank you 🙏
"Wait a minute" 😂
I hope that Greyson has the chance to play with the buddy rich big band sometime as he's going to kill it!
I love that drumset what model of Pearl and sizes are those drums?? Thanks! 😃
Re soloing, have i got this right, when you mess up, you slow it down then you separate it, then reconstruct it & put it back together?

The girl over his left shoulder 🫣
when i was young I started practising to play as slow as possible, but in the pocket.
who else is watching it while practicing?:)
Nunca ouvi falar
I don’t get his playing at all.
😬😬😬
He lost me at playing along to Creed.
This guy is full of himself.
edit: wow 20 minutes in and he's only told meandering stories about himself and noodled around aimlessly. This is what happens when you've been validated from a young age but haven't built any character or experienced any hardship. Greyson has nothing to say yet.
I hope one day that changes.
He does have a weird defensive posture. He talks a lot about proving other people wrong, how other people identify him and about him breaking that mold. Even in interviews, he feels this need to qualify his answers, as if there's already an imagined oppostition to what he's saying. Probably a maturity thing and it most likely ties with this high drive to improve that he has.
But this defensive attitude does put people off I think. If you don't care about what other people think, you don't spend that much time talking about it. Hopefully, he looks back at this in a few years and laughs about it. We all do that ...
@@misamoto Insightful observations! I think you're right. This comes with being young and taking yourself too seriously. Maybe he lives under the shadow of his own expectations.
You’re right. He’s not there yet.
Reminds me of my awkward 25 year old self thinking I could be a worthy teacher. I was useless and inexperienced. At 45 I’m only just thinking I might make a half decent teacher now, but this young chap needs to gain another decade or so before doing this kind of self aggrandising silliness.
@@timpricedrums well put. I don't sense any humility. I recently started checking out Larnell Lewis' lesson videos, and it's the exact opposite! Larnell has something to say on the instrument, he's got wonderful technique AND he's humble. Gotta stay humble
Song tot gespielt...trotz Virtuosität...
although I recognize his ability why do I hate his playing so much? It's just so painful to listen to. I just saw ari Hoenig live and it was transformational. Greyson is just not musical.... YET
had to stop at minute 8 for that reason and then saw your comment.. yup
not musical??? hes got great dynamics and technique also has good feel, crazy you think hes not musical
Too much random rudiments all over the kit, no groove or melodic ideas. You can't hum along to his playing or remember it afterwards.
Agreed. He's got amazing chops, but the dynamics aren't there. I still think he's a great drummer, but he can be so more musical.
I see where you’re coming from. He has amazing chops for sure but there’s not much substance behind his playing; just a lot of flash. Impressive and skillful for sure but as others have said there’s not much original groove behind it and the lack of real musicality behind like dynamics or even just accented hits aren’t there. Fortunately he’s still pretty young and I’m sure he’ll develop that overtime still
The guy is like 5 years old. This is a master class? Thomas Lang, The drummer from Missing Persons, Gregg Bussonette are masters. That guy in the plaid pants is not a master. He's dreamin.
Terry Bozzio(Missing Persons)😉
...dude, you are literally 7 years old, what can you teach? ceral eating?
