    I drove one a few months ago and I was pleasantly surprised at how good it is. Excellent quality all round. Smooth drive. The infotainment system takes some getting used to and so does opening the bonnet.

    XC90 sales surged by 41% in Nov 2019. Volvo attributes this sales increase to the 2020 refresh. Total Volvo sales surged 18% for Nov in a stagnant US market.

      My rate for electricity is around 10 cents/ kwh. This battery is 11.8 kwh battery so i could charge fully for about $1.20

    Brilliant review.. I have one of these and love it. 4:20 - "The XC90 is quite a two faced car, you've got the refined comfortable one, and you've got the noisy fun one" - Totally the best statement ever and so true.

    Also, manual steering wheel column adjustment, for such an expensive car, steering wheel doesn't move automatically for easy entry/exit, or adjustment. Also they screwed up and made captain seats without armrests... what were they thinking? Beautiful car, but somehow missing important stuff.

    • @Lendingyourlight
      @Lendingyourlight 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is due to safety regulations. Volvo has highest ratings and if an accident happens and the steering wheel is only electric it will make it difficult getting you out.

    I didn't understand the "if you can live with lower fuel efficiency", I believe that all models of Volvo X90's have far better fuel efficiency than other mid-sized SUVs, in fact that is one of there strengths.

    Living where I do with very limited EV charging points and a daily commute to somewhere else with very few charging opportunities I need a plugin hybrid with a range of at least 75 miles to at least cover the commute. I can change clients for any business miles once I’ve run out of electric power.
    Is there one? I’ve been looking and not found on yet.
    The ideal would be an excellent value for money EV with a range of about 300 miles on a PCP between £200 and £300 per month (over as many years as necessary, I keep my cars long term the current record is 16 years :-)

    Try to operate the touchscreens in the Audi and the Range Rover with gloves on and see how that works. In the Volvo that will work because the screens are not reacting to heat unlike every other car brand. Just saying!🤔

    Great review. I’m a bit apprehensive when it comes to hybrids as the technology is in it’s infancy especially with Volvo and its premium competitors. I know this is an electric car YT, but I would opt for a diesel engine

    • @vc8160
      @vc8160 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      5 years is not infancy when they spent 6 years in development. Hence why the reliability amongst their recharge T8 has been exceptional.

    Not one of these reviewers point out that the XC90 plug-in hybrid is actually the only 7-seat plug-in available on the market and has been since 2015! Terrible review, it's like a script is being read. No real mention of real world fuel economy on both plug-in models.

    I've grown to like my XC90. It's a shame they will be introducing the 112 mph limit in the newer models. That pretty much excludes them from my list when the time comes to replace my XC90. I don't drive that fast but it's the principal. When I buy anything, I like to be assured that the manufacturer is giving me as much as they can, for the price. If it's simply an electronic switch or binary 01 that needs to be flipped, that is a slap in the face. For that reason, I will never buy a Tesla either.

    • @vc8160
      @vc8160 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You don’t need a speed faster than 112mph but out of principal you would not buy again due to the limit? Confusing comment mate. Most new cars have a electronic governed speed limit.

    • @logmeindog
      @logmeindog 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vc8160 I don't need a lot of things but I still like them. My house is bigger than it needs to be and my car goes faster than it needs to. Do I really need to voluntarily take CPR classes? No. Do you need a car that does 0-60 in under 8 seconds? No. Anyways, when I buy a product, I like to think that it is the best the manufacturer can give me, for that price-point. I don't see the point in spending money on something that is physically capable yet intentionally neutered. It's one of the reasons I will never buy a Tesla. With no effort at all Tesla can enable the full capacity on the battery with the flip of a 1 and a 0 yet the will only do if they want to and if you give them thousands of more dollars. (of course, we all know Tesla's build quality is garbage too). If Volvo really wants to commit, just remove all of the engines larger than 4 cylinders and offer no superchargers or turbochargers. Make then so they are so slow, they couldn't possibly go 90 MPH. That would seem fitting.
