The N64 hardware was not inferior to the Playstation like Watchmojo says here in the Resident Evil 2 entry. The specs of the N64 were much higher. than the Playstation. Double the Ram and the GPU and CPU were 2-3X more powerful than the Playstation's. The problem was that cartridges could hold only a small fraction of the data a CD could, so things like full-motion video and prerendered backgrounds were incredibly difficult.
I'd like to know where the Watchmojo gen Z'er got the idea the N64 was inferior hardware. If you look at the games that were released on both systems, outside of full FMV and storage capacity, the N64 was CLEARLY better.

12:48 Er… no, not even close. Do you people do any fact checking on these things? The N64 overall had vastly superior hardware to the PSX. 64-bit (compared to 32-bit) processor running at almost 3 times the speed (93.75MHz vs 33.87MHz) and 4 times as many calculations (125 MIPS vs 29.64 MIPS), more RAM (4MB vs 3587KB and more than twice as much with the expansion Pak 8MB). Higher res graphics with a larger palette, much higher polygon count (textured shading 150K/sec to 90K/sec, flat shading 600K/sec vs 360K/sec) anti-aliasing, Z-buffering, mipmapping bi & tri linear filtering. Audio wise they're on a par effectively. About the only thing that you could argue in the PlayStation's favour was the fact that it used an optical drive, and so could also play audio CDs, however that also meant longer loading times for games. So at any rate, it's no wonder the N64 port of RE2 seemed to be more impressive than its PlayStation predecessor.
I just had to click when I saw WWF No Mercy for N64 in the thumbnail. Awesome list overall. Can't wrong with Mario Kart, Star Wars, Resident Evil, etc.

Perfect Dark had a way better multiplayer than Goldeneye 007. More weapons, the ability to have multiple cpu opponents with verying difficulty and the different challenges made it far superior to it.
Ocarina of Time is so good......... if it were released today.... low res graphics and all....... it would still be AMAZING Feels like a REAL fantasy world The animations are so perfect, it mimics real sword fighting, running jumping etc The music is top tier, perfectly suited and changes nearly every 3 minutes depending on where you are or what enemy is near

My top 3 favorite N64 games are Banjo Kazooie, Diddy Kong Racing, and Banjo Tooie (in order from 1-3)
I still play N64 games to this day! Pokémon Stadium, Quest 64 and Super Mario 64 remain my favorites.
Conker’s Bad Fur Day is the one for me 🙏🏻♥️
Donkey Kong 64 is one of the best games ever. I had hours and hours invested in it and I never completed it as a child. Golden days for sure.
it's insane how well some of these games have aged even when it comes to the graphics. They are still playable today unlike many old games off the same era xDD
Another underrated gem: Mischief Makers.

Super happy to see WWF No Mercy on this list! Easily a defining game of my childhood.
As if we don't see enough goddamn Raid Shadow Legends ads to begin with, now there's one in the actual video. Thanks a pantload, Chet.
Played goldeneye and perfect dark for hours at a time loved it.
same! my husband and i tried replaying it. we got so excited to play it again and then we were like f*ck this is sad it doesn't hold up😢 but u know what held up ocarina of time, other n64 games and forsaken. do u remember that shooter forsaken? it was sick!
@@thelilyfarrell Ummmm… Goldeneye has held up quite fine for most of us that lived through the 90s. Don’t need insane graphics in order to relive and enjoy this or Perfect Dark. Sorry you lost your appreciation for the game but most of us have not! It will always be one the best games of that era and for me the first shooter game I ever enjoyed and still enjoy to this day. I’d rather play this than any call of duty, Halo or other modern FPS. The nostalgia will always hit hard for me.
WWF No mercy, goldeneye, wcw revenge, Resident evil 2, Mario kart were my top 5
My personal faves: Ocarina of Time, Mario Kart 64, Pokémon Stadium, Bladt Corp, Mario 64, Star Fox 64, Majora’s Mask, Smash Bros…
You know what there’s too many, but those definitely hold a great spot in my childhood memories
I am extremely disappointed that Blast Corps., F-ZERO X, Wave Race 64, or Mischief Makers didn't even get honorable mentions on this list.
Shake-shake, shake-shake!
Most underrated N64 game: Rayman 2: The Great Escape
Best N64 game: Ocarina of Time
Worst N64 game: Superman 64
Anyone who still had a N64, Say Aye!
Yes. I still have my system. I only play it every now in them
Ogre Battle 64 definitely deserves top 10 at least. That was a gem of a game.
There are sooo many great games but Super Mario 64 will forever be my favorite N64 game. I played it so much as a kid and still do to this day. Childhood memories that will never die. :D
Pokémon snap?!? Harvest moon!?!? Those were my top. I still have my n64 and play it time to time.
No Mercy being 17 is absolutely crazy. It should EASILY be top 5.
Dude the fact that people still play this game after 21 Years👀👀!!! yeah this game reached legendary status for a reason. Glad AEW is making a wrestling game that will be just like no mercy!!!
1080°, NFL Blitz, NBA Hangtime, Road Rash 64, Rush 2, F-Zero X are some of the best too.
Ocarina of time it was truly magical...also Majora's mask was awesome...
I still remember the Starfox Fox 64 commercial and how excited and mind blowing it was when my mom bought it for me and it coming with rumble pack!!!
A highly underrated N64 game that isn't mentioned on this list is Winback Covert operations. It did the over the shoulder shooter before resident evil 4. The story was amazing and long.
I agree, that story was so dope, with lots of twists and turns. Definitely underrated game, nobody has heard of Winback when I mention it to people.
The atmosphere is great too. Such a well designed game.
Star Wars: Shadows Of The Empire was IT for me when this system was King.
DK64 was the first game I remember playing and it is still one of my personal favorite N64 games to this day
N64 games are amazing Star Wars N64 are amazing too
You forgot Star Wars pod racer it’s actually pretty good
Stadium, Stadium 2, and I don't know how you forgot Snap when the New one was so highly anticipated.
Please do Top 20 Best characters in Super Smash Bros series! I’m still waiting!
OOT still gives me chills today and I'm 40yrs...who would imagine that a game I played back when I was 18 would be the best I ever played
I'm with you dude. I was two years younger but I have the same feeling. It felt like you lived that gaming experience!
No mercy definitely should of been in the top 10 and Wrestlemaina 2000 and WCW vs NWO revenge should of been here for honorable mentions. Just as well a pliotwings64 just for the crashes F-Zero as well Smash bros should of been in the top 8.
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie, Paper Mario, Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door, Goldeneye, Diddy Kong Racing, Donkey Kong 64, Super Mario 64, how I loved playing them!! Looking forward to replaying Banjo-Kazooie and others on the Switch.
Thousand year door was GameCube, you're thinking the original paper Mario.
I don’t know about Mario Kart 64 being better than Diddy Kong Racing.
Switch Diddy Kong racing with Mario Kart and your top 20 is fine.
God bless Nintendo, the greatest gaming company in the world & thank you for all the nostalgia you gave us.
Great list! I would have definitely moved No Mercy up to be in top 5 though. Perfect dark is an understated gem, my brother and I wasted countless hours killing each other on the multiplayer mode. Good times 😎
Perfect Dark had a way better multiplayer than Goldeneye 007. More weapons, the ability to have multiple cpu opponents with verying difficulty and the different challenges made it far superior to it.
Shitty map design tho and terrible soundtrack
Plus all guns had a secondary option
Ocarina of Time is so good......... if it were released today.... low res graphics and all....... it would still be AMAZING
Feels like a REAL fantasy world
The animations are so perfect, it mimics real sword fighting, running jumping etc
The music is top tier, perfectly suited and changes nearly every 3 minutes depending on where you are or what enemy is near
My sister and I played wwf all the time when we were little. I liked playing Scotty 2 hotty, Grand Master sexy, and Rakishi, the entrance theme, camera movements and you get a celebration dance when you win! Loved that!
For Star Wars games. I think Shadows of the Empire was way better than Rogue Squadron. The opening level alone was incredible. Who doesnt love the snowspeeders on Hoth.
I mean, let’s face it, we ALL knew Ocarina would be #1
These 20 games would be pretty sweet on the new N64 mini that'll probably never come out ever.
