i dont know about yours but my Lenovo legion, which i forgot the series, uses 3070ti and didnt go loud if I'm using quiet mode, maybe that "loud" thing still depends on your cooling system of your laptop

3070ti is fit for you who not up to date about nowadays games, because several popular older AAA game doesn't have feature like frame gen. Keep in mind 4060 mostly fit in 1080p with frame gen on if u want to play up to date games

4060 not only is cooler it also improves the performance with the IA using DLSS 3.0 But yes in brute power is inferior, but the final result are more fps and cooler temps.
3070ti in this specific laptop (full watts) is 9-13% faster than a 4060. If anyone cares to know this is the difference in FPS when you factor in dlss 3 the 4060 is a way better value

But the 4060 has one major advantage, it's Frame generation, unlike the 3070TI. The FPS on the 4060 will be significantly higher, and it also has less heat generation.

Alienware has some serious quality control issues. So I'd say go with the legion. Also, look at the nitro 5, might be cheap in your place for the 3070ti model.

@@mananrathod8078 Ryzen runs hotter than intel. Its a fact. If the 7840hs uses 35w and the i7 13700 was forced to use 35w, the i7 13700h would run cooler. However, the i7 uses more power thus runs at similar temps to the ryzen and would perform about the same. Also, intel can use its iGPU to record gameplay meaning its good for streaming, better than ryzen. And it can accelerate some tasks via the iGPU. Again, useful for work.

Difference is a lot. Especially games with no frame generation which covers the majority of the games in the last 10 years, I would suggest you to get 3070ti Nitro 5. I have the same laptop, and my friend got the 4060 asus tuf. The games he is playing mostly are no frame generation supported and he complains about his choice.

I’ve come to the conclusion of you can’t jump up to at least the 4080 cars and you have a graphics card to a 3070ti or higher, stick with the card you got. The performance gains are nominal if any at all with the lower end 40 cards and absolutely not worth the money just to upgrade to ddr6 either. This will not be applicable for several more years just like ddr4 and ddr5 which is still being perfected. There is not much benefit at this time and if nvidia prioritize previous gen graphics cards like amd did then the previous card will still be even more viable. Be happy with what you got and if you are watching this to decide between the two, save yourself some extra cash with the 3070ti and get yourself a lot more space with a new ssd or even more ram. Much more worth it than jumping to the 40 series.
For people in the comments talking about thermals, the first laptop is the acer nitro 5, it has bad thermals, the second on is the predator helios which has good thermals, hence the temp difference. You give the same gpu to the helios and it'll cool it better than the nitro 5

Don't hold your breath waiting on nvidea to "obsolete" their newest gen. Dlss 3.5 is not FG, which 30 series likely won't get. As of today using FG the 4060 crushes the 3070ti in AAA titles.
The problem in this kind of test is both are in different pc, so you can say 3070 ti is better but have higher temperature but we dont know if was cause the gpu itself or cause the laptop design.

Frame Generation is not some magic tech that will solve every problem. It will take time to look and feel great to use, just like DLSS did. At least 1 generation. So the 3070ti will give you the edge in raster performance, match the 4060's DLSS 2 implementation and by the time you need to use FG to get playable FPS in a significant amount of games at 1440p, (which realistically will be around rtx 6000), you can get a proper rtx 6060 or rtx 6070 laptop for an actual upgrade. Because remember, the rtx 4060 has the same vram limitation as the 3070ti. And FG uses more vram. You want to spend 100k on a current gen laptop thats still struggling with vram? Really? And FG uses more vram too. So good luck. So my question is, why are you spending 100k on a lenovo LOQ, which is a budget gaming laptop? Do you REALLY need a 7840HS so badly paired with a frankly low end GPU (Yes, the 4060 uses AD107 die, which is used for xx50 class, thus low end) and isn't even much faster than the rtx 4050? 100k gets you the nitro 5 with a better panel and GPU. Thermals are not going to be that much worse on the nitro.
@@userxyz783 How in the world do you get 86 on the GPU? Because I get 80-ish on the GPU and 90 on the CPU when running cyberpunk 2077. Thats in line with the lenovo LOQ whose 4060 also hits around 80 and CPU goes around 85 to 90. Have you tried to raise the laptop? Would help. And get throttlestop, it'll limit the temp to 90. And undervolt the GPU in MSI afterburner.

@@mananrathod8078 Ryzen runs hotter than intel. Its a fact. If the 7840hs uses 35w and the i7 13700 was forced to use 35w, the i7 13700h would run cooler. However, the i7 uses more power thus runs at similar temps to the ryzen and would perform about the same.
Also, intel can use its iGPU to record gameplay meaning its good for streaming, better than ryzen. And it can accelerate some tasks via the iGPU. Again, useful for work.

Difference is a lot. Especially games with no frame generation which covers the majority of the games in the last 10 years, I would suggest you to get 3070ti Nitro 5. I have the same laptop, and my friend got the 4060 asus tuf. The games he is playing mostly are no frame generation supported and he complains about his choice.

I’ve come to the conclusion of you can’t jump up to at least the 4080 cars and you have a graphics card to a 3070ti or higher, stick with the card you got. The performance gains are nominal if any at all with the lower end 40 cards and absolutely not worth the money just to upgrade to ddr6 either. This will not be applicable for several more years just like ddr4 and ddr5 which is still being perfected.
There is not much benefit at this time and if nvidia prioritize previous gen graphics cards like amd did then the previous card will still be even more viable. Be happy with what you got and if you are watching this to decide between the two, save yourself some extra cash with the 3070ti and get yourself a lot more space with a new ssd or even more ram. Much more worth it than jumping to the 40 series.
For people in the comments talking about thermals, the first laptop is the acer nitro 5, it has bad thermals, the second on is the predator helios which has good thermals, hence the temp difference. You give the same gpu to the helios and it'll cool it better than the nitro 5

When DLSS 3 comes out for the Nvidia 3 and 2 series in a couple weeks, the 4000 series laptops will become obsolete.
It is fsr3 not dlss3, dlss3 is only available in rtx 4000 series gpus

Don't hold your breath waiting on nvidea to "obsolete" their newest gen. Dlss 3.5 is not FG, which 30 series likely won't get. As of today using FG the 4060 crushes the 3070ti in AAA titles.

The problem in this kind of test is both are in different pc, so you can say 3070 ti is better but have higher temperature but we dont know if was cause the gpu itself or cause the laptop design.
It is not possible to get same components in laptops

Frame Generation is not some magic tech that will solve every problem. It will take time to look and feel great to use, just like DLSS did. At least 1 generation. So the 3070ti will give you the edge in raster performance, match the 4060's DLSS 2 implementation and by the time you need to use FG to get playable FPS in a significant amount of games at 1440p, (which realistically will be around rtx 6000), you can get a proper rtx 6060 or rtx 6070 laptop for an actual upgrade.
Because remember, the rtx 4060 has the same vram limitation as the 3070ti. And FG uses more vram. You want to spend 100k on a current gen laptop thats still struggling with vram? Really? And FG uses more vram too. So good luck.
So my question is, why are you spending 100k on a lenovo LOQ, which is a budget gaming laptop? Do you REALLY need a 7840HS so badly paired with a frankly low end GPU (Yes, the 4060 uses AD107 die, which is used for xx50 class, thus low end) and isn't even much faster than the rtx 4050? 100k gets you the nitro 5 with a better panel and GPU. Thermals are not going to be that much worse on the nitro.

@@blackhammer7415 Well yeah, the nitro 5 is a LOT cheaper than the NEO 16. It has similar temps to the lenovo LOQ with the intel i7 13620h.

Because I get 80-ish on the GPU and 90 on the CPU when running cyberpunk 2077. Thats in line with the lenovo LOQ whose 4060 also hits around 80 and CPU goes around 85 to 90.
Have you tried to raise the laptop? Would help. And get throttlestop, it'll limit the temp to 90. And undervolt the GPU in MSI afterburner.
@@userxyz783 You have a unit with poor thermal paste application. You need to get it repasted. Otherwise don't expect it to last for more than a year.
