- Relax to Solo Canoe Hammock Camping & Pond Hopping in the Adirondack's Saranac Lakes Wild Forest after Spring Ice Out. I start out early morning on a bluebird day at Follensby Clear Pond where the water is like glass with mirrored reflections. I then make my way to Horseshoe Pond and then to Little Polliwog Pond... before making my final portage into Polliwog Pond where I find a beautiful peninsula to set up camp. The solitude of this early Spring trip made for a nice way to start my 2024 paddling season. I am paddling a Placid Boatworks Rapidfire pack canoe. My bag is the 110L NRS Bill's Bag. My boots are the NRS Boundary Boots. My paddle is a Werner Kalliste bent shaft.

** IMPORTANT NOTE ON DRONE USE **
Before launching a drone be aware of the FAA rules on usage and restrictions. The Adirondacks also have their own set of rules regarding drone use. As my own personal rule... I leave the drone grounded when other people are out enjoying nature. Below are links to help you fly legally in the Adirondacks:

This video series of yours is going to be epic!!! So many amazing shots.
Thank you. I really like making this style of video.
@@CanoeCampClimb It shows. You are really good at it. That is a lot of camera work. 👏🏻
Wonderful depiction of the adk! So beautiful and wonderful ❤️. The intake of nature is beyond anyone's greatest ideas.
Thanks Joshua. I really enjoyed this spring trip.
Another tranquil start with my 7am coffee 🙏🏴
glad you like it. I will be releasing the other canoe camping seasons (Summer, Fall, Winter) over the coming weeks.
Amazing edit as always. Great video.
Thank you
I really enjoy your videos. I've been to St. Regis twice and am already planning my early spring 2025 trip. I appreciate your perspective and how you obviously love that wilderness.
Thank you Bob. I appreciate the compliment. Early spring is such a great time to get out. Fewer people, before the bugs. And timing it with the return of the loons is always nice.
💓💓💓💓💓💓
Waiting for the video
Butch, per our discussion earlier, I didn’t make the connection ! This is what I was thinking about, definitely a place I’m going ! Thanks again ! Hopefully we can hook up for a paddle !
You’ll love it. I look forward to meeting up
Very nice my friend😎
Thank you. I will be releasing the other canoe camping seasons (Summer, Fall, Winter) over the coming weeks.
Awesome!!!
thank you
Looking forward to this !👍
Top shelf! Black flies, stage right.
Thankfully they weren't biting for this trip. But I've been up the last 2 weekends and the black flies and mosquitoes had their way with me. And the no-see-ums even started.
Fantastic ! The views from the water ,looking at your camp were insane. Well done ! Hammock Gear has some incredible products, very solid company for sure ! That looks like an option for next month ! Thanks for sharing my friend !
I loved that site. Sunrise and sunset views. I will be releasing the other canoe camping seasons (Summer, Fall, Winter) over the coming weeks.
@@CanoeCampClimb I anticipate those being fantastic also ! Peace ✌️
Great video. TY. What make and model is your dry bag? Thanks again JP
hey JP. Thank you. I use the NRS Bill's Bag 110 liter. It a bag that been around forever. I love it. BTW... I will be releasing the other canoe camping seasons (Summer, Fall, Winter) over the coming weeks.
@@CanoeCampClimb I really like the silent film’s. Thanks for your efforts on them. I have watched a previous four season and I ask, why would anyone not consider four season canoeing/camping? I appreciate the info on your dry bag. JP
@@geraldpiacenza8942 the silent style is my favorite to make. For me I watch them to take away stress
I hope this question isn't too personal but...whats your total load weight? Im curious about the weight capacity on a Rapidfire. Thanks!
Hi Patrick. For this trip my pack was heavier than usual because I packed more fresh food than I typically do (and camera equipment/batteries). So my pack was about 60 lbs. And I weighed 235 during this trip. So close to about 300lbs for this trip. But I have certainly loaded it up with a lot more than that for late Fall and early Winter trips which sometimes include hauling firewood in the boat. If you give Joe a call at Placid Boatworks he can give you the load information.
