Nice find for $100.00 I'd be standing on my roof crowing about that one myself! I always liked the Porsche turret better than the production turret but I can understand the production turret due to the simplicity of construction and the loss of the shell trap under the mantlet

The production turret was of a superior design, but i'm with you the pre-production turret just has nicer style.

awesome find say did this kit come with the new idler wheel set up i keep having to fix my old king tiger ones and getting sock of it if so you think we can make a deal on them...ps keeep them coming

Be sure to grab SCHUMO Kits KT0036 from Axel’s if you can - most ‘Porsche’ turrets do not seem to have used the kit style barrel

Kit barrel is the two-piece type. Most, but not all, early king tigers used the one-piece, as offered by Schumo. See well known pics of 313 and 334, for examples… Tamiya chose the subject for their Porsche artwork carefully, as she’s quite the rarity

I am building a bit of a "what if" tank, if the Aluminum production barrel fits I think I will use it, if even for the sheer incorrectness of it.

I bought this same kit off eBay, over 12 years ago, for $225 shipped. I still have it, unbuilt, in my closet. I see they are around $400 now..

No such things a Porsche turret all turrets were built by Krupp
