I think the only thing your video proves is that Unbreakable is a super hero movie shot in the slow cinema style, which is very unique because virtually every other super hero movie is not filmed in that style.

I paused in the section comparing average shot length because I had a sudden feeling that maybe I am making slow video. This idea that cinema is sculpting in time when applied to online serialized video makes the time span over which that molding action is happening very very long. Even in superhero cinema when the story lines and characters branch and mix between movies we don't usually experience them as continuous, but in the case of TH-cam channel years of creative changes are caught in the loops of video. But even with in that temporal shaping I have been experimenting with the stylization and duration in ways I think closely resemble these filmmakers drives. This is a great video. Thanks for sharing.
I'm not putting down all the work you put into this video, but it's actually very simple- Contrary to what we are told, Humans don't live time in seconds, minutes and hours. We DON'T live by the Clock or the Calendar. We live our lives in MOMENTS. 'Slow Cinema' (I dislike the term but we'll use it for now), is an attempt to extend that moment to focus on a point the movie wants to make.
I love videos like this, despite never watching any of the movies mentioned (including Unbreakable and any of the superhero videos mentioned). I hope you continue them!
No offense…but this is a terrible theory, for a few reasons. First…it feels like you’re desperate to fit a square peg into a round hole with this. As if you’re selfishly hoping to validate your theory in order for self gratification. Secondly, if you’re correct…you could be correct, with this still being a superhero movie. One doesn’t cancel out the other. And most importantly…your theory takes the fun and intrigue out of the movie for most of us. Most of us love the idea of this being an understated superhero origin story. Your theory seeks to destroy the idea we love. That doesn’t invalidate your theory…but it does mean those that feel as I do won’t support your theory. And since it’s a theory and you have no way to definitively prove it…support for your theory is all you can hope to gain.

''Unbreakable'' (2000) is a Superhero movie...Kind of in the way that by Abel Ferrara's ''The Driller Killer'' (1979) is a Slasher movie.
