She's still supporting but making an impression. They are shoving Alex and Mikey down our throats and unfortunately they will be full cast members next season. I don't know how Melissa V made it to a second season but I think she won't be back next season. She's rarely used but when she is, she seems to be a one trick pony. They don't seem to use her for her impressions which is her strength. Even her opening at the beginning of the show looks bad, she looks like a puppet.Back to Heidi, she's good in this sketch but maybe there is hope for her. I agree that Luke Null has not made an impression and will be gone. If it were up to me Alex whatever his last name and Mikey Day would be gone. They are the interchangeable and the epitome of the milquetoast white guys. I forgot that Kyle is still on the show. I think Chris Redd is making a good impression and he should be back.

Agreed that Luke and Melissa are probably gone soon-- I was surprised Melissa was back this season, even though I really like her. I can't tell if she's failing to perform or if they're failing to use her, but either way, the rarity of her appearances is notable. Also agreed that Heidi and Chris are doing great and will be staying. I don't think Mikey is gonna leave the show soon, he's a writer-- he might do a Mike O'Brien thing and go back to writing after being a player for a while, but I think he's a decent performer and improving, so he's probably staying. Initially I did think there were just way too many interchangeable white guys (like I literally had that thought, "all these guys are more or less the same and I can't tell the difference between them, why are there so many"), but to be honest they've each grown on me-- Beck is fantastic and Kyle brings in some much-needed weirdness, and they have great chemistry together. I never cared about Alex until he started playing Eric Trump in the Eric/Jr sketches, but those sketches are *so* funny that I'd be crushed to see Alex leave. I'm fine with them using him rarely, though.

I love that Heidi Gardner can do a hilarious caricature of a teen girl without caving into obnoxious stereotypes... like the joke of these sketches isn't 'teenage girls are vacuous and awful and don't deserve respect' - instead it's a painfully accurate representation of how raging hormones, self-consciousness and inexperience can make teens overact in a funny way. So we can laugh but we still empathise with her. It takes a lot of skill to make that work!

She also nails (subtly) how there's so much pressure for teenage girls/young women to appeal to normative dudes, making sure to signal that she likes burgers and sports, and that superheroes shouldn't be female.
WTF are you babbling about? First of all... you’re an ass-clown for NOT seeing that this sketch is INDEED doing that very thing that you “think” it is not. It’s ABSOLUTELY depicting how vacuous, clueless & delusional most teenage girls are these days. Her “hormonal crush” is just one of the many nuances of this epic display of the shit-show that many millennials have been groomed to become. The only thing “painfully obvious” is that you share the same mindset of this character- which she portrays beautifully. The only difference is that you likely had at least one parent who has tried, (to the point of ad nauseam), to get it through your thick skull that you need to get your head out of your ass & stop thinking like a complete tool. You need to realize... REALLY REALIZE... that your SnapChat account, your cell phone, your Jimmy Choo’s & your (fingers crossed) tickets to the next “Burning Man” are about as important to mankind as a turd dipped in chocolate. I too was once a teenage girl, but I was smart enough to know the difference between things that matter & things that don’t at the end of the day. I was a blonde, Honor-Roll, cheerleader with the same damn hormones that you seem to think are responsible for the ignorance of young women these days. Well, I’m here to tell you that I’m now a grown woman, still a blonde, still hella-smart (a physician to be exact), who refuses to let my children surf the wave of stupid that you’re on. Do us all a favor a watch this sketch again, and again, and again until you can say to yourself (with 100% certainty), that you understand that this depiction is not, in any way, respectful or encouraging of current, teen behavior. It is trying to showcase how delusional teens are and you, oh naive one, are the reason they write sketches like this. You’re more articulate than most, and appear to have enough potential to overcome the ignorance that plagues our future generations, so please... don’t dismiss this reply as bitter or mean-spirited. In other words, don’t Snowflake-out because your feelings are hurt. Instead, you should make a concerted effort to read between the lines. When you do, my message will become all too clear & you’ll (hopefully) make a positive difference in this world.

You have to appreciate acting that deep in a comedy sketch. Gets a bit dark, but it’s pretty damn refreshing to see that kind of commitment to a character. Well done.

Love her story.... Heidi was a hairdresser and gave up her career to pursue comedy... look at her now. She's a natural at this and doesn't rely on the teleprompter like everyone else.

Probably herself as a teen. I'm about the same age as this actress and I was exactly like that as a teen. Obsessed with movies, had only guy friends, thought I was overwhelmed by everything and if my crush knew I liked him, I would die but at the same time, maybe I wanted him to know a little. I was awful.
God I would do that stressed out almost cry all the time, nearly cried along with Heidi when she did that! Too real so funny

Anyone who can use that space of silence and awkwardness to build to tears while tossing out hilarious gestures and getting laughs all while on live tv is a comic genius. I mean she is really remarkable. Most ppl would panic and rush through a scene and fake it while filling every second. Her comfort in using the silence and her physical space is stellar.
