This video and Rampy's Raptor series has inspired me to take on the the bosses with unicorns. I've been mutating the living heck out of them and now I have a lethal weapon that can knock out gigantosaurus and not have to worry about it. Can't wait to do the bosses!
@@Boomsmith They cleared! But they struggled. 200 mutations + 88 levels + server cap saddles... still didn't give them the edge. All three dragons were a breeze, and so were the megapithecus, though the alpha gave us a little trouble. Gamma and beta broods were nothing, but oh, alpha broods took us down to just 4 unicorns. Shotgun + General Honse (the yuty) did most of the work at the end of the fight. The overseer cave- do not bring them in there. They did well with maneuvering around the cave but not with packs of dinos, especially the yutys. I brought 48 (+ yuty and daedon) of them in there for the fun of it and lost a loooot of them. Ended up having to restart and escorting them with a giga. The overseer fight- they did gamma, struggled with beta, and really struggled with alpha. They probably needed mutated more, seeing as it took me 40 minutes to beat the final fight and there were barely any of them left. I did another set but this time giving them traits from the bob's tales dlc- vampiric, 2x angry, 2x tenacious. About the same results but more of them survived.
Wow, now I just wish there were better equus spawns on the Island. Welcome back. It would be funny to do procoptodon, most people used them to cheese mega and broods before they patched the megapithecus ledges. I wonder how they'd do in a head on attack. It worked for the megaloceros. I have worse luck so far finding roos than unicorns.
That shot at 2:46 - I have a headcanon that the bois all strung up = your past selves post-encounter with Broodmama 😅 or maybe they're getting ready, whatever floats their boats!
Odd question but you have all your icons on screen, I mean you can see your food energy fully and can see wht you use/lose on the left of the screen, how did you do that? My screen cuts the icons off and I cnt see wht I pick up or use on the lefti just see X2 or -
Interesting... never had this bug. Press backspace a few times to turn off/on the HUD and I think there might be a tooltip delay checkbox in the options. Maybe uncheck folder view and turn on toolkits in the inventory?? Maybe that will fix it? Do you have mods that could have changed it?
That....went surprisingly well. Also, what the hell, Boomsmith, I thought you were working on improving yourself, so why are you back with that bodacious barbarous babe?
The equus is a disappointing mount. I typically don't even see veggies to tame them until I've basically got saddles for other, better combat mounts. The awkward secondary attack also doesn't help matters. Couple that with their relatively low survivability and it's basically just a "but I like horses!" mount. Trikes are decent mounts for exploration (if a little slow), and you blow through the lower levels fast enough that you can get to a gallimimus or iguanodon saddle before you can set up and maintain crop plots to really need to strike out and gather from afar. I typically don't see seeds for veggies until sometime after getting medium crop plots at level 26 anyway. I'll say I wasn't expecting equus to clear silver. Doesn't change my opinion of it as a mount, but at least it earned more respect from me.
I think the Equus truly shines on Ragnarok. I don't tame them normally unless I'm on Rag. Mainly because of the easy carrots and it's a quick tame to gather narcoberries
@@Boomsmith Maybe that's the reason I didn't really get into them, by the time Ragnarok came out my crew was a lean, mean, Ark'ing machine, and we had griffins and stuff tamed before we really got to see any equus. >D Or at least before I saw them. And this is restarting every map, because we never knew we were supposed to be able to take our characters forward to the next maps. I climbed through levels fast making a base and gathering materials, we went hunting, found griffins, and the rest was dive bombing history. Until wyverns.
i use equus to knock out tames. Rex, Tickle chicken, Bronto, Terrorbird and all the creatures who usually run into you... You just need a bit practice to stop the backkick at the right time. i save a lot of tranqs and its more fun and epic to fight against a rex on a horse. You can also shoot from its back to combine both knock out options.
They did a lot better than I expected.
Agreed!
Lol. "The neigh neigh ninjas."
I guess beating Alpha Dragon earns them that nickname.
I was as shocked as everyone else lol

@0null awesome write up, and congrats! That's a hell of a lot of mutations!
The wild Broodmother stories always get a giggle out of me. Great video
Glad you enjoy them!! Thank you!

Yeah their spawns are in a dangerous place and they're not that common. I didn't even know they spawned on the island for a long time.

lol or maybe she cheatin!!! OMG!
@@Boomsmith oh boy! Fodder for the next date/fight with her!
Welcome Back! They just kept surprising. Did not see the Alpha dragon coming especially after getting beat by Alpha monkey.
Gotta use that toe biting strategy 🤣 honestly they would have been toast if the dragon took off another time

@@Boomsmith I play on Xbox series X and it's always been this way from day one
Wow way better than expected
Absolutely
That must have been brutal to go through. Thanks for the enjoyable content
Thanks for watching!
niiiice! Welcome back, always a great watch
Much appreciated!
Those exquisite equus’ sure went out with a bang!
Performed much better than I expected!
This is by far the most bizzare contender I've ever seen, the horse failed at both Alpha Monke and Broodmother but cleared Alpha DRAGON????
That toe strat tho
I hadn't seen you post in a few days, was getting worried Mommy Broods finally got you
Was out of town for a little bit... with momma broods 😏
Wow they lost to mama broods and alpha monke but beat the dragon? Crazy
It's that toe strat
I mean.... you could've used UNICORNS... but ok... :P
Thought about it but then someone would have said BuT ThOsE aRnT EqUuS
@@BoomsmithPlus you can't give Unicorns the black and blue uniforms

Just wait it gets worse
So The Neverending Story has some trauma for you? Artax comes back ya know...
But you still have to watch him sink the the swamp because he's overwhelmed with depression lol
OMG finally equus :)
Hope you enjoy!
Can you do diplodocus
It can't enter and the attack doesn't do damage
