Are there generalizations that could apply to people in extremely broad strokes? Sure, but they hardly come close to defining or articulating the value of a person. In many ways, the alpha male for instance, society is moving away from the human “alpha male” because what we perceived as “alpha”, is changing. The qualities that are “alpha” are not desirable.

I found that I could come up with solutions to problems within a minute or 2, then had to endlessly explain the solution to a room of people (dummies? cardboard cutouts?) before maybe one of them stood up and said - yeah, that's a great idea ... I think it will work.
I've always known, and I also did a couple of tests that confirmed it: I'm an INFJ Sigma. I cannot say that puberty and growing up were easy; the Sturm and Drang and extreme level of empathy that comes with the INFJ profile makes puberty an uphill battle you cannot win. Add to that the Sigma traits that make you a social outcast, and you might get an idea why there is nothing romantic about being a YOUNG INFJ Sigma - it's an emotional hell to go through, that's what it was for me. It took me decades to grow the confidence that I have today and to become a seasoned Sigma who feels 100% comfortable in his skin and fully embraces - and likes - it. I am now 53 and could be the mentor that I badly would have needed in my younger years but didn't have. Lucky me though, I've had a long term relationship with an INFJ female and also a relationship with what clearly was a Sigma female. My main advice for other (INFJ) Sigmas: Never even attempt to enter a conventional relationship, it cannot make you happy. Also, don't even try to enter a relationship with a woman that does not have either a Sigma or an INFJ profile - it won't make you happy either and you will be better off staying alone, because in conventional relationships, you undoubtedly will always feel not understood at all and also lonely. You need to be emotionally connected to another wolf or eagle, they will be the only ones who will ever "get" you. And for that kind of women, none of the dating advices you hear will ever apply - they will look right through you and sense what you are and then decide for themselves whether you are partner material for them or not. Dating games or mind games will not work with those women, they only respond to full authenticity. And that is the kind of woman and kind of relationship and connection that you need and want. Patience is your friend.
I'm an INTP but had the same uphill battle growing up. Kids are cruel - it didn't help that I had to wear glasses (4 eyes), was skinny (had to walk around in the shower to get wet). I'm still that way at 60, but I am happy by myself now until the right person comes along - particularly after getting out of a long narcissistic relationship. Starting again, (even had a couple of bites) but I have my own interests and way forward. I was amazed that I ticked all of the boxes without a second thought in Anna's video. I guess it's just a label but it's another way of learning about myself.
I've seen a lot of sigma male videos over the past year or so - and while I've long had sigma tendencies, those videos were narrated by male-sounding bots and had clips of white-collar dudes working with laptops and whatnot. Since I work with my hands and operate equipment, that left me wondering if blue-collar guys could even be sigmas. But then to hear and see a real person describe my characteristics almost to the letter.... guess I'm a sigma after all. Thanks for taking the time to do this video!
Yes Brother, I believe there are many sigma males that are blue collar. Regardless of Industry, they will always be "boots on the ground" type of men, in the modern sense.
Hi Joyanima. Thank you for the video. All of these qualities fit me to a tee and I didn't even realise what a Sigma male was a half hour ago. Very enlightening
My go-to favorite movie quote from the Godfather, "mention it, don't insist." Lots of meaning on how sigmas should be approached. She handles this subject quite well. She must know a few. haha
Ever since I was very young (junior school) I’ve always been a loner, but very sociable at the same time. But I did (and have ever since) found being sociable very draining! Heard about sigmas a year ago, and straight away recognised myself. Defo not an alpha (can’t be bothered), defo not a beta (can’t blindly follow anyone). Even more confusing is I can’t be pigeonholed into any particular personality type! Interesting about the problem solving aspect - in my previous job I got a reputation for being an outstanding and innovative problem solver, to the point they wanted me to train the entire organisation on my methods! Only one problem, I couldn’t rationalise why I did what I did, it just came naturally!
Your experience sounds very similar to my own. I've only recently gone down the rabbit hole of learning about Sigmas and with each passing thing I read or watch, I'm convinced that I finally have some idea of 'where I fit in'. I'm soon to be 61. I could have saved myself some tough life lessons and stress/anxiety if I had known this atleast 20-30 years ago.
@@gotta56forme Yeah, same for me. It’s off putting not knowing ‘what’ you are, isn’t it? Especially when you clearly are totally different to everyone else. That moment when it comes clear is like finding the light switch in your mind. Everything makes sense…
The most joyous moment for me, too. Studied the temperaments years ago, choleric, sanguine, melancholy, phlegmatic and I got confused. None of these narrowed it down enough. Also, being analog as opposed to digital. Now that I know I'm a sigma empath, I don't care. hahahahaha
Here is my question - did anyone actually click on this video and watch it and we're like "oh man, I'm definitely NOT that"? Our brains are great at making things fit the way we want to perceive them to fit.
I kept score as I watched 3 Yes-es, 2 Mostly-s, 2 Kinda-s. But you're right, no outright No-s. I see the same thign with horoscope traits, anyone could match any sign's traits.
I think these different stereotypes are just bullshit society made up to stroke their egos thinking certain men or women are better than others. Everyone is different, everyone is human. All of these types of people would still die from a bullet to the head 😂 just be your true self flaws and all and carry on with your life. This shit is for the herd.
You were better of not knowing. This is just pseudoscience. The level of astrology, palm reading, ... It is based on a debunked theory of leadership in a wolf pack.
Interesting and insightful video. I would also include the following traits: 1. He loves being alone while also valuing other people. 2. He is a silent leader, to whom people look to for advice. 3. He treats everyone, regardless of social standing/background, the same way. 4. He is incredibly self-aware. 5. He possesses a distinctive and, at times, a cryptic sense of humor. 6. He may be "morally grey" due to his tendency of not adhering to societal expectations. In essence, sigma males are fiercely independent and walk to the beat of their own drum.
Hi there from Sardinia. (Where are you from?). My "profile" is quite close to the "sigma male" one... I love your videos, the way you speak (the right pace to keep my English at a good level) and given the topics, never boring! THX!
Great video. Never heard of Sigma male until lately and I'm almost 70 years old. Been called Anti-social all my life because I prefer to be alone. Most people just bore me.
Change is okay if it’s needed and makes sense!! I’m not interested in controlling anyone!! Control yourself.. that’s what I expend my focus and energy on. Know yourself… both positive qualities and the negative ones. Be good but save the bad for if needed to confront adversarial confrontations.
Your compliment about her hair was shurely well meant, but the only thing that matters is her contrubution to the topic. Or would you say to a man that you love his hair?
@@mindexplorer6929 True, you're right, her hair has no contribution to the video for sure, but its still awesome 🤩 No, I will NOT comment or compliment some guy's on his video for his hair, but obviously on something very different (I REALLY dont "love" mens hair 😜🤢 🤣) & as deserved obviously, like for example great delivery, great style or even constructive criticism. Thats what the audience is for. To learn & to interact & help each other develope 😉👍✨ (My 5c)
Great video, I don't usually leave comments on TH-cam but since I've pretty much agreed to everything you talked about in this vid I just had to leave a comment to let you know that this help clear up a few things for me to let me know that I fall under this sigma male category and I'm proud of it.
I thought this was kind of silly and "AS SEEN ON TV" at first, but it was actually a really pleasant and encouraging/forward thinking presentation. Thank you nice lady!
That's because it's designed the same way. Horoscopes are designed to vaguely categorize people so no matter what "traits" they describe, everyone will say "hey, that's me!". This is the same thing.
I have every trait described. When I was told at age 58 by a psychologist that I was not only high functioning ADHD, but that I was a Sigma male. Which I’d never heard about and was deeply offended by fact of the distance in the Greek alphabet from Alpha! 😂 She then had me take a test and repeated it several times where the results were consistent that I have INFJ personality type. Realising all of this I have come to truly understand myself, putting into perspective my personal idiosyncrasies and explaining why I’ve always been deeply successful in my career, and my general perspective on life! 🤩😍
The Sigma type has always identified with me, ever since I heard of it yrs ago. One thing about myself is I always seem to clash with the Alpha of the group or give him the hardest time of everyone because so much doesn't matter to me as it does others. Eventually the Alpha becomes a 'friend' and respects me as well as seeks my advice when others aren't around. I also identify as a old school traditional masculine man, rough and tough but only when I need to be.
_Contentment_ is my modus operandi. 💎 _A few_ (select) friends and possessions promotes adaptability/mobility/versatility. _"The more you know, the less you need"_ ... and want. I seem to perplex sales people sometimes.
I'm a Sigma Male! But it was only in old age that it became widespread! I'm not good with people, every interaction with people exhausts me! I'm a doctor and I'm really happy when I'm alone in the evening! I can't change that, especially not with tips, anyway, thanks for your video!
Thank you so much for your video. Helps me understand myself better and hold my stance in life. I can now label myself as a "Stigma Male" as I nailed all 8 of your points 😃
This was completely new to me. I have never heard of sigma before. Only alpha and beta, where none describes me. This felt so right and such a relief! I have always thought or felt, that there was something wrong with me for going my own way, not getting involved in group conflicts and thinking and solving problems in ways that no one else does. And the last topic about empathy, I don’t lack empathy, but I am not so good at showing it or using it. Spot on!
@@anishbanerjee9311 I don’t really understand the question. I don’t get really angry often, and when I do it often disappears quickly. I more get irritated, for instance when I happen to knock over a glass of water at the table, but it quickly goes away. When driving I can get angry sometimes, but then I think that maybe it’s a new driver, or a person that is new in the area and is uncertain of the way. Then it disappears. I am not sure if this is what you meant with your question, I get the feeling that you are after something else.
I am 71. Been that way my whole life. I never knew it had a name. Most people didn't seem to understand my ways, and I didn't care. Because it is just who I am
The "rarest" of men.....from much of the comments below, we've found every Sigma Male on the planet. :) I tick various boxes from multiple personality types...Not quite a full Sigma, Alpha or Gamma....just a Saggy I suppose. Miss Joy, always enjoy your commentaries and insight. Thank you very much for sharing.
Yes and yes. Other channels talk about Sigma and ALL of the Sigma's come out to comment. I think there must be a special social network for only them, and notifications are provided for any content that is posted.
Yeah funny how every "loner" comes out of the wood work to proclaim they're totally a sigma. I think most men just become more reclusive as they get older and more in their thoughts so its easy for many to assume they're this introverted alpha type called a "sigma".
Hi Anna--I am a Sigma male. I am also an Analytical Introvert. Your video describes me perfectly. You call it "thinking outside the box" whereas I have called it "gaming the system"--legally that is. I have 4 sons--one is an Alpha male and is the DeFacto leader of the clan. Two are Beta males and one is a Sigma male like me. I have watched many of your videos--keep them coming.
One for seven, Lone Wolf, cuz I don't like being around any people outside my small Inner Circle, & sometimes not even them. Delta/Beta guy here. Enjoyed your video. LOVE your voice! Cheers and All Best, Beautiful Lady :)
First time I ever watched one of these videos all the way through. Most people have bits and pieces of the personality. But a sigma refines himself over the years.
Genuine understanding and shared values are important to me in any shared relationship. Thank you for confirming what I have felt all my life. I lose my patience around people who do not have an ability to understand simple concepts.
I’ve always known that knowing how to become independent is crucial, not everyone is always going to be around all the time. Also, asking a small favour to then offer something in return is common courtesy.
IN ALL HONESTY…..This kind of INFJ sigma alpha beta gamma epsilon introvert extrovert empaths categorization… is deeply disturbing. I’m not sure what it is but it does not feel like the right approach to our social interactions as human beings. People have lost their social skills and their capability for vulnerability ever since the rise of the internet and social media. Nowadays everyone identifies with those kind of "emblems" because everyone is insecure as fuck
Never heard about this. Very interesting! As I read 2-3 books a week it is not very easy to surprise me. You surprised me with something totally new to me. Thank You for this fantastic moment!
INFP Sigma here: I'm only in my 20s here, but social life has already been quite interesting... and by interesting, I mean confusing. I certainly fall into the lone wolf trope, typically being liked because I'm nice and fairly useful, but pretty unknown to folks even after months and years.
I certainly understand you when you write that social life is confusing. I feel that all the time at parties and family gatherings, where people are so good at keeping track of everyone’s careers, living situation, children, vacations and everything else, and I hardly remember the other persons names.
@@JonasMollerNielsen Haha, honestly though. You really got me on your last point, about people's names. I've always struggled cement people's names and still do.
I found a page that explained cinematic or TV versions of sigma males and they came up with James Bond and Bruce Wayne. I also believe that since quirkiness and the other factors were involved, we could also throw in Wilson from home improvement. He was always philosophical and a lone wolf.
My wife watched this with me and said you described me to a tee. No idea if good, bad or indifferent I reckon. And nope never heard of this before. Explains a lot of why I am a loner except I'm married which does not compute.
This is just pseudoscience. The level of astrology, palm reading, ... It is based on a debunked theory of leadership in a wolf pack. Like you already observed: you should be single instead of married according to the description.
While I seem to fit all those characteristics I don't feel that I'm a sigma male at all. I've noticed women do tend to like me. I like to see women smile because it makes them pretty. I'm really very passive toward women. Encourage them, let them be and they are great.
Thank you Anna ‼ for dozens of qualities to focus on enhancing 🙇♂️ What are your views on consent ? As in when to ask and what situations do you discuss boundaries vs when is it okay to assume it's okay 🤨? What about when substances are involved? Stay well Anna !!
She starts by saying, “the _oblivious_ signs that you are a sigma male.” Did no one else notice that? She definitely says “oblivious”, not “obvious”. How did no one catch that?
I was alwaqys called a lone wolf in high school I always did things my way even if it meant failing plus I would rather a room to myself if there was a group project I am called a loner because I always did things on my time I even got a wolf head tattoo
Yep. I'm definitely a sigma male. This corresponds with a Meyers-Briggs assessment of INTJ personality. In dating I've unfortunately found this to be a disadvantage.
Did not know, but i am 100% Sigma male. Hate stupid conflicts and drama, love the solitude, very disciplined and life totally based on specific values. So thanks for the news flash.
Well no. Not big on labels. Also I don’t fit in a box. If I ever thought I needed to fit in, I shortly corrected that and moved on being content and happy with myself.
Wow. No way I've finally found out what I am. I thought I was just an empath all this time. Check marks on all of these. This is literally the new first day of my life. Never even heard of a Sigma male but I knew I wasn't an Alpha because I don't need a crowd.
I left the continent at 32 to go live in a place where they don't speak English or French. I'm still here 12 years later. It has been so relaxing, I am very lucky not to have anyone bother to talk to me for 9 years. I can remember one conversation in the last 4 years.
We partially contain each characteristic on different level of development stage - depend your growth based self-expressing, and understanding why you what you daily basis! It's something between (truths lies somewhere in between...) A)"Was it really needed to be in my life to be better person?" B) "Was it really benefitial to my needs, my principles, and final ultimate goal, which I'm on my way to eventually reach and achieve?" C) "Did i already experienced anything similar to described as sigma man, or would i like to experience? What are outcomes - is worth to follow this principle, or i should change my responses, rhought, emotions and behavior to achieve (or be) better myself tomorrow? All I can say it's remember outcomes or actions in every new or non-standart you ever experienced, and going to solve current "itch" in your personality (self-discovery through fails in social interaction).....
after your video I think now as 62 year old man that I am a sigma male. It is true that everything in my private and working life was unconventional but always after a while it turned out that I took advantage of it.
My personal theory is that sigma males are alpha males that grew up in abusive households. I was raised by a verbally abusive narcissist and the only time I was safe as a child was when I was alone. That feeling persists to this day even though there is no reason for it anymore. I buried myself in books and self learning.
Presume sigmas do better with women as they are observant/caring and independent. I have always been very lucky with women, but never been anywhere close to an alpha type. My present GF is 21 and I am 58. 8 months together. I am now continuing my world travels and showing her the various places on the planet.
I don't understand why I need to be called a sigma I have been the way I've been all my life. It is only been recently that everybody needs a f****** title and to be known for something. Yes I don't like being around people I prefer being self-reliant and I don't tolerate narcissism or any of the other crap. Just like I don't tolerate listening to people talk about s*** they don't know anything about

How many Greek letters of men are there? Are women also divided likewise?
I'm an INTP but had the same uphill battle growing up. Kids are cruel - it didn't help that I had to wear glasses (4 eyes), was skinny (had to walk around in the shower to get wet). I'm still that way at 60, but I am happy by myself now until the right person comes along - particularly after getting out of a long narcissistic relationship. Starting again, (even had a couple of bites) but I have my own interests and way forward. I was amazed that I ticked all of the boxes without a second thought in Anna's video. I guess it's just a label but it's another way of learning about myself.
Well said my man

Thank you, Ms. Joyanima….very informative!
Hi Joyanima. Thank you for the video. All of these qualities fit me to a tee and I didn't even realise what a Sigma male was a half hour ago. Very enlightening
No they don’t you have to be like 12 to believe any of this
@@HIi-gu8pp yes, I do understand this, nonetheless they do fit my personality. Is that hard to believe?
It’s always a good day when you post an insightful and interesting video. This one is particularly salient to me personally. Thank you for sharing.
My go-to favorite movie quote from the Godfather, "mention it, don't insist." Lots of meaning on how sigmas should be approached. She handles this subject quite well. She must know a few. haha
So called out right now… and loved every second of it.
Now that I know I'm a sigma empath, I don't care. hahahahaha
Finally someone seems to get me..I've never heard the term sigma before..but I totally connected with this. Thanks
Drives me crazy. Just like the INTJ personality type that everybody adopted like 2 years ago.
Like how you think you aren't gey but that comment was so you must be?
Nah, I'm just better than everyone like I thought. Lol
Yup, I guess I just became a Sigma. I had no idea and didn't even know about "sigmas" until a few months ago. Thank you and God bless!
You were better of not knowing. This is just pseudoscience. The level of astrology, palm reading, ... It is based on a debunked theory of leadership in a wolf pack.
I like this video because it not just only explanation, it also has a worthwhile suggestion about how make a quality more beneficial and practical.
Interesting and insightful video. I would also include the following traits:

Haha sardines opener.
I thought this was kind of silly and "AS SEEN ON TV" at first, but it was actually a really pleasant and encouraging/forward thinking presentation. Thank you nice lady!

She did quite well, it's a hot topic as of late. How would you share it ?

@@athgowla687lol facts
I have every trait described. When I was told at age 58 by a psychologist that I was not only high functioning ADHD, but that I was a Sigma male. Which I’d never heard about and was deeply offended by fact of the distance in the Greek alphabet from Alpha! 😂
She then had me take a test and repeated it several times where the results were consistent that I have INFJ personality type.
Yes that's why alphas hate us so much because we don't need validation from anyone

Spot on!
Hey Sigma, how do you deal with anger?
@@anishbanerjee9311 I don’t really understand the question. I don’t get really angry often, and when I do it often disappears quickly. I more get irritated, for instance when I happen to knock over a glass of water at the table, but it quickly goes away. When driving I can get angry sometimes, but then I think that maybe it’s a new driver, or a person that is new in the area and is uncertain of the way. Then it disappears.

I´m a Sigma male, Ambivert, ENTJ person (ENTJ is like 2 % of the population) so i´m a little bit strange guy but i Always treat people with respect.
XD. Well of course they are "SIGMAS". I am a Gamma myself. In a week i will be YPSILON.
Interesting video. Thanks for the info. By the way, your hair looks really nice.
Looks like she uses transmission fluid for hair oil.
One for seven, Lone Wolf, cuz I don't like being around any people outside my small Inner Circle, & sometimes not even them.

First time I ever watched one of these videos all the way through.
Most people have bits and pieces of the personality.
But a sigma refines himself over the years.
Definately Sigma , and proud of it 😎👍
Genuine understanding and shared values are important to me in any shared relationship. Thank you for confirming what I have felt all my life. I lose my patience around people who do not have an ability to understand simple concepts.
Stop describing me. It's weird. The first half nailed it.
Dream on
I’ve always known that knowing how to become independent is crucial, not everyone is always going to be around all the time.
Exactly, they all seem to need to label themselves as something to be happy.

Im definitely a sigma. It gets tons of hate, yet tons of people are intrigued and drawn to it as well.
While I seem to fit all those characteristics I don't feel that I'm a sigma male at all. I've noticed women do tend to like me. I like to see women smile because it makes them pretty. I'm really very passive toward women. Encourage them, let them be and they are great.

Finally I have found what I am. You have described me completely. I’ve been this way all my life
Well no. Not big on labels. Also I don’t fit in a box. If I ever thought I needed to fit in, I shortly corrected that and moved on being content and happy with myself.
It's painful to be a sigma because 3:19 it will leave you in isolation. People feel threatened by sigmas as they don't reinforce group think.
Wow. No way I've finally found out what I am. I thought I was just an empath all this time. Check marks on all of these. This is literally the new first day of my life. Never even heard of a Sigma male but I knew I wasn't an Alpha because I don't need a crowd.
You got me!
I surrender!
I left the continent at 32 to go live in a place where they don't speak English or French. I'm still here 12 years later. It has been so relaxing, I am very lucky not to have anyone bother to talk to me for 9 years. I can remember one conversation in the last 4 years.
This is fine. I felt there should be more in-depth details and need more context. I want to learn more anyway 💖
We partially contain each characteristic on different level of development stage - depend your growth based self-expressing, and understanding why you what you daily basis!
It's something between (truths lies somewhere in between...)
A)"Was it really needed to be in my life to be better person?"
B) "Was it really benefitial to my needs, my principles, and final ultimate goal, which I'm on my way to eventually reach and achieve?"
C) "Did i already experienced anything similar to described as sigma man, or would i like to experience? What are outcomes - is worth to follow this principle, or i should change my responses, rhought, emotions and behavior to achieve (or be) better myself tomorrow?
All I can say it's remember outcomes or actions in every new or non-standart you ever experienced, and going to solve current "itch" in your personality (self-discovery through fails in social interaction).....
This is so spot on!! Yes, I'm a Sigma Male...

thanks Anna. never heard of Sigma male. i used to be a f'n beta (unbeknownst to me)...I am now Sigma.
Interesting analysis.
you said the oblivious signs at the beginning, I was like what now
My personal theory is that sigma males are alpha males that grew up in abusive households. I was raised by a verbally abusive narcissist and the only time I was safe as a child was when I was alone. That feeling persists to this day even though there is no reason for it anymore. I buried myself in books and self learning.
Sigma males are Alpha males that don’t care they are Alpha males
That's a correlation, not a cause. Learn the difference. 👍
I could listen to her talk all day… 🥰
Presume sigmas do better with women as they are observant/caring and independent.
