More tools more tools more tools. Im going back to vehicles from the 70s...i have this problem right now and there are no answers but take it to the shop.
I just had this on my 06 dodge ram. Loss of power. LIMP MODE. Would not shift properly. I just disconnected the battery. Put both cables together for 15 minutes. Turned on headlights to drain electrical system. Reconnected the battery. Turned key to on position for about 15 seconds. Started truck. No engine light. Let it idle for a little bit. Problem solved.
@@timothybranch1881 No. It just seemed it didn't want to go into overdrive. No power either. Just had to reset the computer. It's still running just fine. Even towed a trailer for 200 miles yesterday.

Was your transmission slipping also
