  • AC/DC performing live at Rockdrome, Rio De Janeiro, Brasil on January 19, 1985 during the 1st Rock In Rio festival.
Rock in Rio is a recurring music festival originating in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It later branched into other locations such as Lisbon, Madrid and Las Vegas.
Rock in Rio is one of the largest music festivals in the world, with 1.5 million people attending the first event, 700,000 attending the second and fourth, about 1.2 million attending the third, and about 350,000 people attending each of the three Lisbon events.
The first edition of the festival was held from January 11-20, 1985. Queen, George Benson, Rod Stewart, AC/DC, and Yes were the headliners, each occupying top spot for two nights. About 1.4 million people attended the 10-day-long festival.
Pro-shot recording AI upscaled, frame rate increased and colour correction. Audio was also enhanced. Quality severely drops after Hells Bells, poor tape transfer, there is nothing much to do with software to fix that.
Intro and outro songs are the official Rock In Rio song (Roupa Nova).
    00:00:00 - 1) Guns for Hire
    00:05:54 - 2) Shoot to Thrill
    00:11:23 - 3) Sin City
    00:17:53 - 4) Back in Black
    00:22:14 - 5) Have a Drink on Me
    00:27:15 - 6) Bad Boy Boogie
    00:43:50 - 7) Rock and Roll Ain't Noise Pollution
    00:48:10 - 8) Hells Bells
00:53:26 - 9) Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
    00:58:15 - 10) Highway to Hell
    01:02:20 - 11) Whole Lotta Rosie
    01:07:15 - 12) Let There Be Rock
    01:19:45 - 13) TNT
01:23:33 - 14) For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)

How nostalgic and happy to hear this again. We traveled with two girls from Argentina and it was a dream come true. AC/DC, Maiden, Scorpions, Whitesnake and Queen. We were very young. Today I am 60 years old and I still enjoy it like I did in the past.

Yeh the kinda high pitch stuff at the end of a verse leading into the chorus in guns for hire for example. Also funny hearing the lads talking between sin city and back in black. Sounded like they had no clear set or were so drunk they couldn't remember. Angus n Brian asking Malcolm wot songs nxt..lol. clear Aussie n English accent of youngs n brian

    Potência máxima no som.
Nos intervalos das músicas o som precisava ser abaixado para não dar microfonia.
Após uma grande queima de fogos.
    Inesquecível.

I agree. Angus has a little more energy here. I still think TRE was their last stellar record and the end of prime AC/DC. Then they took a 5 year layoff and came back with Ballbreaker. Phil was back and the songs were a little more slowed down and a bit more bluesy like their 75-76 stuff. Just compare No Bull to Donnington. The guitars in No Bull almost sound clean compared to the overdriven Mesa Boogies they were using in 91'. AC/DC started to get into the metal kick in the 80's and there aint no complaints to me. I personally think Angus's guitar playing was at its best in the 80's when he was between 25-35.

Was quite excited when this first cropped up, but with the dreadful mix, feedback, fuzzy picture will give it a pass. Shame as it was pro-shot and would've love to seen a decent live show from this era. Not often an AC/DC show comes up that I haven't seen...

AC/DC'S 1985 ALBUM "FLY ON THE WALL" WAS WITHOUT A DOUBT ONE OF THEIR WEAKEST ALBUMS IN THEIR LONG, ILLUSTRIOUS CAREER. AND IT'S A SHAME TOO, BECAUSE IT HAD THE POTENTIAL TO BE A GREAT RECORD, AND THERE IS SOME REALLY STRONG SONGS ON THERE LIKE "FIRST BLOOD", "PLAYING WITH GIRLS" "SEND FOR THE MAN" AND THE KILLER "BACK IN BUSINESS" AND OF COURSE "SINK THE PINK" AND THE AWESOME "SHAKE YOUR FOUNDATIONS" ARE BOTH REALLY SOLID. PERHAPS IF THE BAND HAD NOT PRODUCED THAT ALBUM THEMSELVES, WHICH IS A BIG NO NO, BECAUSE A BAND SHOULD NEVER PRODUCE THEIR OWN RECORDS OR "SHIT IN THEIR OWN BACKYARD" SO TO SPEAK. LOL. IF MUTT LANGE HAD PRODUCED THAT ALBUM IT WOULD HAVE SOUNDED MUCH MUCH BETTER. AND THE GREAT PHIL RUDD HAD VACATED HIS SEAT ON DRUMS, AND SIMON WRIGHT PLAYED DRUMS ON THAT RECORD, AND LET ME TELL YA, SIMON WRIGHT IS NO PHIL RUDD!! NOT BY A FUCKING MILE. CHRIS SLADE, WHO REPLACED WRIGHT AND PLAYED ON THE FANTASTIC "RAZORS EDGE" ALBUM IN 1990 FUCKING BURIED SIMON WRIGHT ON THE DRUMS. BUT I THINK MOST FANS OF THE BAND WOULD AGREE THAT AC/DC HAS ONKY ONE TRUE DRUMMER, AND THAT IS PHIL RUDD OF COURSE. AC/DC'S PREVIOUS ALBUM, 1983'S "FLICK OF THE SWITCH" WAS KILLER FROM BEGINNING TO END, AND IT WAS AND STILL IS SUPERIOR TO "FLY" IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE. IN FACT, "FLICK OF THE SWITCH" HAS ALWAYS BEEN AND STILL IS MY FAVORITE BRIAN JOHNSON ERA AC/DC ALBUM TO DATE. I STILL PREFER THAT ALBUM OVER "BACK IN BLACK" TO THIS VERY DAY.

Flick of the switch had a useless tinny production. Shame because it’s got great songs on it. Imagine it with Mutt on production.
