I feel whatever happened to the ship breached the big pipe in the maintenance corridor and flooded the tunnel floor with the nasty, corrosive bubbly green slime you get when you mix engine fuel with coolant. That would nicely emphasize the fact that you don't want to spend a pleasant afternoon down there while the monsters are looking for you above. It would hint at some movement penalties and maybe even terrain damage too.
From the video it looks like the wall is plain, I think a nice addition could be a big, broken ventilation intake which leads into another section: if you want to evade an encounter or to make an aggressive move, you can take the risk to go down and take the shortcut
DUUUUUUDE! This looks incredible! I’ve been looking forward to this project ever since I saw the warp backdrop. I absolutely love the gallery and endless shaft!
AMAZING!!!!! Different colored rooms is genius. The map itself is wonder, the technique u used are stellar. Truely the coolest map, warp backdrop is great touch
This came out so good, Eric. And if we wind up getting new genestealers and assault terminators, or a new space hulk box, you're going to have an amazing backdrop for some cool photos.
you should add some blood pools on the redrum room's floors, and since the maintenance corridor is right below it, maybe some blood dripping down through the grated floor into the corridor.
i think one red light to add some atmosphere in the maintaince corridor, either the drybrush and airbrush method, or a red LED, just to make it look like its not meant to be accessed often
I love Gallowdark it's so Grimdark and gritty. Close quartered battles with lots of terrain are the best. I'd love to make something like this. Amazing!
Maybe an emergency power red light (or blue light since that's what you have going elsewhere) down in the maintenance corridor would look nice. It would help provide some contrast. Or you could pretend that pipe is some kind of generator, maybe the emergency gen, and it could be glowing from heat. Maybe the rivets glow and little lights are on. Thanks for all you do, I have fallen in love with your channel as of late and it really motivates me to dive further into this hobby.
Just came to say thank you for your awesome channel. You really boosted my motivation and inspiration for making my own projects and I got really good tips and tricks on the way. Poor kids in my area can't find cheap toys anymore because I have hunted all second hand stores for good pieces for my projects.
Wrapping wires around what looks like concrete blocks holding up the pipes in the vents would look cooler, maybe it would unify the pipe with the block a bit more. Either that or add dirty down rust down at the bottom to make it look like there was a water leak, it will make the more concrete looking stuff more like metal.
I say it every time but I just love your videos, I watch every bit of it from beginning to end Sometimes I even sit down to watch it as if I’m watching a great film. On the sofa full attention.
This is so freaking good!! About the build in itself, the layout is outstanding, and the years of experience really show in saving time and getting a premium result anyway (what about that Blackout Zone, my jaw litterally dropped halfway trough) overall the level of creativity is unparalled in any channel that I know of. But since I'm already fanboying and don't care, I will add Eric makes some most enjoyable videos, beside the quality of the build I was surprised by the production value, and the music was an excellent choice, it helped me bear the continuous flux of actually useful information (great job btw) and it sure pumped me for the end shots :D About the maintenance corridor, or other similar parts: if the zone is habitable, you could put a shelter under the pipe, it would make sense if someone/something is looking for a 'safe' place similarly, someone could be hiding weapons/food/drugs behind a pillar (I'm assuming there is a little space) can be like an easter egg, or a gaming feature for a heal/bonus or it could be the den entrance of some nasty thing, it could be a broken fan or a tunnel chewed into the plasteel. You could dig a little into the foam for perspective, and put bones/mucus/detritus around the place
Man this is an awesome project!! So cool dude, seriously! Incredible work, love the layout and the idea of the mirror for the shaft. Absolutely stellar work sir!
I wish i had just one Third of your creativity, Eric. This board is just amazing and you still are able to surprise me with those nice ideas you have and how you execute them practically. I follow you for some years now and as is said above, still surprised everytime. Keep it going Brother ❤
Probably the simplest thing to add to the maintenance corridor would be something on the floor. I'd recommend grating, just to give it some added texture. You could also add markings like you see in workshops where they mark out the areas where you should only be standing if you're working with the machinery. You could also add some small critters - my first thought was the old school Heroquest rats (because rats and spiders and whatnot love those little-used nooks and crannies). If you've used the grating idea, you could even have a patch where something's gnawed through the grating? Another option would be to use a similar OSL from the Blackout Corridor, but tinted red, just to make it seem even darker and more menacing.
I wanna applaud you with going for a more colorful color scheme and taking classic inspiration. As much as I love the grimdark style that has become so popular, I think throwing some sand, sepia washes, and rust effects would have discredited all the fine details of the terrain. This feels like a lived in ship with different color rooms.
This is spectacular! So many wonderful and unique elements that all blend so well together. Even all the varied painting techniques fit together cohesively. This will definitely be a board that will allow for some fantastic and memorable games!
It be cool to see warped doors so say one door is slightly jammed open thus allowing a sneak peak of the room beyond. Still absolutely beautiful job terrain building is my favorite part of the hobby
Holy cats! Eric! I love this and you’ve inspired me to finally paint the heap of terrain I have sitting in a corner. Your steps are simple but sooooo effective
Great use of vertical space, it gives the board a lot more realism and personality. All those double height rooms and especially the bottomless pit really help give the impression that this ship is many floors, not just a single flat plane.
This is an incredible build. Congratulations on completing it, and thank you as always for uploading some inspirational DIY tabletop videos to inspire creativity and passion for what will add to memorable game nights with the crew 👍🎨👾
That maintenance corridor needs one of those bare light bulbs hanging on a wire, or maybe one of those utility lamps that you can clamp onto things while you work. Maybe put it near a toolbox stuck in a corner.
I definitely need a "How to Play Kill Team" video, I haven't been able to crack into it myself. I find it intimidating to learn the rules on my own but I'd love to get my friends into it!
What an effort, congratulations of completing this large piece of playable terrain! Love the colours used for the different rooms and the sponge chipping effect.
When necromunda came out, I thought boxed terrain would be changed forever, but it took a lot longer than I thought to really spread, probably due to cost I’d expect. House rule: at the start of each turn role 2d6 for each unit. On a double roll, a member of that unit is sucked out into space. Like weapon jams, but with the cold vacuum of space! Loved this project.
Everything about this is impressive but I've got a feeling I'm going to be seeing the Blackout Zone at a lot of tables. It's such a simple but atmospheric look. Iconic to the genre. Well done.
The reason "The Maintenance Corridor" looks off and your thinking about detail is because you have those super detailed GW pipes in the top half of the room's volume and then plain blocks and a flat floor in the bottom half which is creating huge contrast in the level of detail which your eyes are picking up on. Id suggest some detail on the actual floor (trailing cables, crosshatch mesh, etc.) plus also doing something with the concrete blocks the pipe is mounted on. Some of the little aquilas or other detail parts you normally get heaps of in vehicle kits would likely be really good. Then maybe a terminal or console or two in front of the pipes would break up the horizontal volume seperation a bit if you have anything like that around from objective markers in like every GW game lol. Hope thats helpful and cant wait to see what you do with it, love your work so I know you will nail it.
The hanger might be my favorite, i just love how the really pale wall color makes everything pop. But the black out zone is really great too. All shots with doors to other areas with different paint schemes is a great effect. Maintenance corridor feels like it needs some wires running along the floor and just some electronic and maintenance clutter. With all the texture and variation the other zones have, it feels a little plain.
The maintenance corridor needs just general rubble and crap in the nooks and crannies and under the pipes, just busy up the floor a bit. Then a couple shots of red OSL from das blinkenlights above to give that gnarly foreboding lights. Adore your work man. It never fails to impress me just how close to a ridiculously high end grim dark look you always seem to get to with like 0 time effort. KEEP IT UP ERIC!
Super cool build! Your arches scream for stained glass windows. For a first batrap I would go with classic approach genestealer versus terminators (Space Hulk). Cheers!
Incredible work as always. The maintenance could use some sludge puddles of leaking toxic waste. Or perhaps grated traps for hydrolic oil. I've never been on a Space Hulk but industrial places usually have sludge puddles, especially around machinery. Can't wait for the Titan video!
I think for the Maintenence cooridor what it could use is pools, like that big pipe is leaking some kind of bright ooz or something into the area, or a light brown oil or something
I’ve really enjoyed this build! It’s so different in the fact it’s indoors rather than outdoors. Narrow corridors and maintenance hallways. Absolutely beautiful to think of games on it! What to add left to it, I think an abandoned rifle that belonged to an unsuspecting victim, or the left over feast of the alien invader, with a pool of blood and a detached arm… gruesome stuff 😄
@EricsHobbyWorkshop You know what. Fuck it. I'll give you 5 bucks a month. Haven't got the cash for 50 plus. I'll go patreon now. Stop twisting my arm 😂

My thoughts exactly. Green luminescent leaks and pools for maintenance corridor. For Eric: its amazing video full of inspiration. Thank you for it!
I am thinking the same thing. Lots of noxious substances seeping down and collecting in puddles across the floor of the maintenance corridor.
Glowing slime leaking is a great idea. Love it
Throw in a red and yellow wire up top with some simple mini lights for quick but effective color on the ceiling and it would be distinct in a jiffy
