Love it! My son (who thru hiked the AT in 2022) and I did Franconia Ridge about a month ago - he's 24 and I'm 74 - and it was hard as heck for me, but so wonderful!!! Been on my bucket list for several decades. Thank you for such a well-done video!
Can't count how many times i've done this trail. My favorite place. Stayed the night on top of Lafayette once. Incredible sky views. I want to do a moonlight traverse at some point. Pick a night with a full Moon and time it so you summit haystack just as darknes falls.
Great job capturing the awesomeness of this hike, which while difficult at times is so worth it. I had chills watching the section coming down from Lincoln. I'll be sure to check out your other hikes.
Great video. That was my first hike in the Whites in 2021. As much as it kicked my butt, it sparked something in me that has me coming back to the Whites once a year for a week. It's hard to describe the experience to non hikers but there's something so fulfilling about it.
Gorgeous footage. Thanks for sharing it. It really a hike like no other. Love that hoodie you are wearing. If you don't mind sharing, I'd love to know what it is.
I had to hit the mute button. The ow oww oww vamp music is really annoying. One of the joys of hiking is hearing the mountain sing to me. The wind, the birds, the crunch of scrambles, the huffing and even puffing of other hikers. I remember sitting on top of Mt. Lafayette listening to the mountain. I could see Lonesome Lake way down across the space. Spent many a night there. It was difficult to continue hiking down the trail to the Greenleaf hut, I wanted to l linger. So soothing sitting there. We hiked up here to Lafayette on the hottest day of the summer a year ago, 2023. Silly silly me. That trail runner at 13:06 is an awesome sight. Wish I could do that. Of course, he's 30 years younger than me and a strong.....male. so there I go. Those 5,000 footers are too much for me now, I keep to the 3,000 and under hikes. I hope you can keep it up when you're 75. If you keep doing it, you will. Too bad the hut is closed. Wonderful memories staying there. I've met so many nice people. Someone commented about the Bridal Trail: "If you don't have knee issues, you will after hiking down this trail." Nope, not yet. Good video of this hike, not too much 'selfies' like some videos. Happy Trails to you.
Happy Trails to you as well! I’ve had knee issues since high school, surgery and all the fun stuff. I don’t know how much longer I have, but a woman hiking into her 90s once told me, “just keep moving”! So that’s the plan for now ☺️
@@tinwenwalks You are doing very well, and I always say I'm lucky to be doing what I am at 77 yrs old. Some of my friends have not been so fortunate. I miss them. I will keep moving for sure.
@@tinwenwalks You are doing so well. My mind tells me I can do that hike, just go slow. The 'other' voice says: "Don't even think about it." That's my bones talking. I have to listen to both voices and will keep moving. My siblings stopped moving, now they can't move at all. Perhaps I'll see you on the trails. It's the best place to be.

Awesome for getting it done! Especially when it’s a little warmer out hahah, that’s tough in itself. Appreciate you watching ☺️
Wow, what a great hike and video. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much for hanging out!

BEST hike in the Whites, and possibly All of the Eastern U.S. That 1.8 miles across the ridge is breathtaking!
