    I didn't know Armor-All was still going! In my early days as a valeter, I used to use Armor-All tyre spray on my mate's cars and my dad's company Ford Orion. The product foamed up like mousse as I sprayed it onto the tyres, and it would leave a super glossy lacquer on the tyre as the foam ran off and stained the driveway, and my mum would go nuts.

    I personally use the Carbon Collective hybrid shampoo and have been using it for 2 years now. It does not foam when washing which seems a little odd, but it does clean well. I tend to go over each panel about 5 times, then rinse that one panel. Then onto the next. It gives a very nice shine when dry and i would say it resists dirt well. I do roughly 800 miles a week, so my car paintwork takes a battering. A light jet wash a week later takes off almost all the dirt as the paint remains slick. Will be interested to see what you think of it.

    Bilt Hamber Touch-On comes in 30ml sachets as well and the directions on those are to add one sachet to a 15L bucket of warm water - are they more concentrated than the 1L bottles or is there a ratio mix up somewhere? As a control of 1, when I used a sachet with those directions it worked well for me so I don't know if 65ml is actually required (unless the product is a different concentration in the bottes).

    I've tried Meguiars, Diamondbrite and Autobrite. I didn't like the Autobrite much at all, no foam and not very slick. The Diamondbrite was actually sent to me by mistake, I ordered something else online but they let me keep it and I liked it, would use that again. The Meguiars is the one with the 'wow factor' though, mixing it is a pain but the beading and shine afterwards is great, feels like you have been over the car with a high beading detailing spray afterwards. I stocked up on it when Halfords had them reduced to £15 a bottle so the cost per wash isn't bad at all. I'll be interested to see the test so I can decide what to use when I run out.

    Hi Jon really looking forward to seeing your thoughts and results on this test been waiting for a while for this.
    Couple of things I’ve noticed that dilution ratios are so vague in my opinion epically turtle wax. One things I’d like to suggest is can you also include in your test application via foam canon as they are quite expensive and the application method has to be done very quickly to not let it dry on the panel and find if you use the foam canon then go over the car with a mitt is easier and saves on time.
    I do like Turtle waxes offering but found the dilution ratios annoying but the protection and gloss really nice.
    For me personally Gyeon is the best really good stuff only thing is it’s quite expensive and found you have to be so careful and use it measuring it out a syringe etc.
    Thanks look forward for the video.

    • @ForensicDetailing
      @ForensicDetailing  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      hi mate. this resonates with me. But if Im given a vague usage ration like 20-40ml to 10 litres. I take the average so 30ml. I cant test snow foam application because only a few of the 11 products allow for use in a snow foam lance. all 11 allow contact wash use. so I can literally get sued if I show poor performance in lance and its not intended for use in a lance. Biggest problem is Im finding at the manufacturers usage ratios the products (most of them at least) all have minimal performance. They are too conservative with their ratios. But I cannot bump the dilutions up above their limits or again I can get sued (not that they would be they could). so I just have to use at proper ratio and report performance.

    • @plot44b77
      @plot44b77 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ForensicDetailing I can totally understand your point of view. Ive used about 5 max by different brands and the dilution ratio on all of them are so annoying especially Americans as they are in oz not litre everything you have mentioned in the video I’ve been there. For me personally and I know this may not relevant to the video is that it has to be versatile in application method and Snowfoam canon is the best method I’ve used the turtle wax one like this also the gyeon and that’s one of the main factors alongside durability gloss etc why gyeon in my opinion is the best. I also found that the turtle wax product is better in a lance rather than I bucket and you end up using less product.
      Why I don’t like the bucket method is that a lot of it will go to waste for average sized car I never use a full bucket especially if you are using a grit guard. Most of the shampoos don’t have much cleaning power in my opinion. Maybe I’m using the products not as intended for me I use these products instead if spray on rinse sealant and saves me that step when I can combine it the wash stage.

    Out there idea, mainly for fun but you never know.
    What about Carchem 1900:1 with a splash of demon shine? I know its opening up a can of worms as where do you end but would be funny to see how it compares.
    I'm not entirly sure what demon shine is made of (certainly don't thing its ceramic) but its dirt cheap and does seem to add a little gloss and water beading (I spray on neat with a punp sprayer after autowash) I know its meant to be more of a drying aid than any sort of protection but im not sure any wash and wax/ceramic really adds anything beyond an initial shine.

    Perhaps it’s just me, but apart from complete unrealistic stellar prices (per liter, per wash, whatever), I don’t really care about the price, because it’s not material to me as part of my ownership cost.
    I just care about what’s ‘the best’ product - where I first need help to understand how to define ‘best’.
    I feel that over the past reviews there has been too much emphasis on price (e.g. the max 20 points awarded in the previous majour review) - perhaps because that one is easiest to quantify…
    But I don’t really care about how easy it is to quantify. I care much more about your experience and perspective on
    1.) what do you think are the different criteria that matter for each product category
    2.) how does - according to you/your tests - each product rank on those categories
    3.) which products do you consider ‘the best’ for different profiles/use cases; e.g. I.) the doesn’t-really-care-about-price-amateur (like me) vs. II.) the concour level professional who has all the equipment and experience to apply even the most complicated-to-apply product vs. III.) the penny-pincer, etc.

    Amen to this, it drives me nuts that I need to do all this to get a cost per wash. It's a real con as it stands, as an example, BH Auto Wash is a couple of quid less than DIY Detail Incredible Suds - not a massive difference & people may chose to pay that bit extra. However, once you calculate the cost per wash, BH comes in @ 60p and DIY at £2.20, I bet far fewer people would be willing to pay the true extra.

I guess an even better tool would be to just say 128:1? (128 oz of water which is a gallon, to 1 oz product)? Which comes out to 8ml of product to 1 liter, 128ml into a 15 liter bucket if you so choose. For me 4 ounces into 4 gallons of water still seems pretty easy to remember and easy to follow. Like I said I don’t mind using both it’s really not that big of a deal.

      brainstorming. cost per wash would hamper that. at 1:100 thats 150ml for a 15l bucket. gives you 3.x washes in their retail sized offering using our 15 litre benchmark. That would yield around 6-7 pound cost per wash. thats 2-3 times more expensive than the most expensive in the test. Its too far off market m8.

      @@ForensicDetailing CarPro Hydro Foam Wash & Coat, no mention of being a "ceramic" shampoo. Can be used contact wash style or applied after contact wash through a foam lance which is how I use it with amazing results and hydrophobicity. Not used it as a contact wash & protect yet so that would be interesting to see how it fares in this line up if you do decide to add it. Not sure how it would compare on price, in fact, i think the reason I haven't used it as a contact wash product is the ratio in a bucket, I believe its 9:1 which would mean 1500ml (3x 500ml bottles) to a 15 litre bucket (madness). Same ratio for the foam lance so appx 100ml in the cannon to a litre of water and I get 4, maybe 5 cars done with that.

    Already so much value to be had out of this! Steers me away of one of the big brands, now I'm nearing the end of a bottle of shampoo. I understand that 11 products is more than enough. Brand/ product that I do miss, is Soft99 Kiwami shampoo. Curious how much you would slap that product for recommended use. But since your experience I'd be much more curious about how you would use this. Since your experience with their products. The recommended usage on this product keep me from buying it. Also would like to know if it is expected to do the same for the mirror shine as for the Kiwami. Dropped chemistry classes as soon as I could so am depending on other brains :)
    So if you or anybody else wants to share, would appreciate it a lot.
