    I just made a cup and it's so refreshing! I used white tea infused with peach and mango. :) It's a refreshing drink to have first thing in the morning. :) Thanks so much for your tutorial! This is the most informative cold brew tutorial on TH-cam by far. :)

      Sounds nice where did you get the tea from?

    Even though this does not fit in with loose leaf. My grandparents used to use Tetley iced tea mix in water. Then they put fresh mint that grew wild outside here in PA. That would sit in the container and cold brew. I never knew they followed such a trend before it was even re-coined.

    Although tea is less popular and favourable than coffee (around my place, imo), especially cold brew tea, I think this is underrated. worth it to try.
    Thank you for the video. I recently exploring TH-cam and found this one. It was 2 years ago since uploaded. Hope that cold brew tea is getting popular like cold brew coffee.

    Hi, what’s the shelf life after your done making it?

    • @Oscalishious
      @Oscalishious 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The shelf life in the fridge for cold brew coffee is about 3-4 days, so I'd reckon its the same for tea. Don't know about with the fruit in it tho.

    Can you add milk to cold brewed tea before consuming?

  • @KlausMueller
    @KlausMueller ปีที่แล้ว

    For me, the best thing about this process is that the tea tastes much more aromatic. Who does not know, the tea comes with a great description about its ingredients and aroma, you pour it classically with hot water, it smells wonderful, but without sugar somehow tastes like nothing. The method presented here is different. The tea - even the flavored varieties such as green tea vanilla - taste as you would hope. Completely without sugar.

  • @grimcze
    @grimcze ปีที่แล้ว

    Just rinse tea with water (same temp as you would do hot tea) only for 5 seconds max. Then cold water and about 45 minutes (depends on tea ofc, you have to experiment) you have cold brew.

      That can risk bacterial growth but it's popular in the South to put jars of tea on the porch to steep. It's called sun tea.

    why is he putting the cheese cloth on top?

    • @theculturedcup8047
      @theculturedcup8047  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In case you do not have a cold tea brewer with a built in strainer, you can use a cheese cloth on top instead of one. That way the tea leaves stay in the mason jar as you pour into cups. If you do not have cheesecloth, you could also use a hand strainer as you pour into cups.

  • @PersonaIncognito
    @PersonaIncognito ปีที่แล้ว

    Seems slightly out of order. Leave the mason jar top on overnight, to keep the tea/water from being exposed to the air. THEN in the morning, switch out the top lid with the cheesecloth to strain it.

    you can brew tea (cold or hot) only 5-10 minutes. After that time it could be dangerous (oxidation of leaves and more )

    Tea leaves aren’t pasteurized- you’d be foolish to cold brew. There aren’t any benefits!

    • @ceecs43
      @ceecs43 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      you don’t have to be mean. he was very kind. making iced tea when you brew it hot does not taste good to some people. it burns the tea and is gross. hot brewed tea is meant to be sipped while hot and cold brew tea is meant to be iced tea. maybe you just don’t have an advanced taste pallet to comprehend dynamic flavors.

      You must be kidding, I bet the water you drink is also not pasteurized. The basic point behind pasteurization is killing pathogens and for tea they have very low moisture content too low for the growth of microorganisms. However I am not saying they cannot get contaminated it's a complete different story. The whole kinetics of brewing including time and temperature as well a the hardness of water is important for the taste and body of the tea.

    "It's easy, It's flavorful, and you can make it however you want it"
    Sounds like making normal tea to me and not a reason for cold brew specifically, Can't you think up something more clever to say?
