    When I finally got serious about dealing with my hypertension, I went salt-free and to do that I had to give up entirely all processed and restaurant food. Meaning I cook everything I eat from scratch. Not very many people these days cook their meals beyond heating up something that comes from a box. But it worked for me and I'm off BP meds at age 67.

      How long did it take to adjust. I’m super addicted to salt even though I make my food homemade i add probably too much salt.

      @@faylinameir I'd love to know, too, how long it took. I also like salt too much.

      @@faylinameir It took me a couple of years to stay salt-free. It was so easy for me to fall off the wagon when it comes to salt.

      Salt+carbohydrates=unhealthy. Get rid of the carbohydrates then salt your food to taste.

    School lunches at school are really processed! If the grown ups are gaining weight on the food , you know the kids are! With the meals being free most parents let their children eat there. We offer as many fruits and vegetables as they want. I eat a wfpb diet and feel really bad about the foods I’m having to prepare for the kids. Sadly the main dishes are pizza, lots of chicken anything, breakfasts are pastry items, pizza, cereals, biscuits chicken and sausage. They wonder how come all the children are being diagnosed with ADHD , anxiety, etc....

      My kids go to a school that is a "nut free zone-- no outside food". Some really don't have a choice. I wake them up early so I know they start their day with protein and veggies.

    I was SO stressed out as a kid that I ate… had no drugs or alcohol available and knew nothing about it anyway, so I ate. My mom was SO hard on us and I had horrible anxiety, etc. So it’s not only bad food that factors into the weight, it’s a did functional household… your fear, pain, and anxiety HAS to show up somewhere… and when you’re really young, food becomes your friend. I meant disfunctional household…

      I feel your pain. When i was a kid i take my emotion out on a ball (played racketball & pingpong then). My mom is a perfectionist and expected to be perfect child in her mind. I never use food as emotion outlet. Also there’s no ultraprocessed food in my house. What’s always on the dining table for us to eat is rice+veggies & chinese herbal soup. Banana & papaya is always ready to eat in the fridge & on the shelf. So it’s all about what your parents know.

    It's so true obesity is rising in children. But my question is, who is responsible for this--- the ones who feeds them , if the parents or care giver were contious of what they put on the table or lunch pack,much could be avoided.

      I wonder if it is related to the two income families. Just no time to cook. Two parents working 60 hour weeks and pizza is quick.

    • @anniee6616
      @anniee6616 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      it's due to living - both parents are forced to work and the junk food companies capitalise on this, convincing parents to buy more take away and quick fix foods from the supermarkets
      It's not true as healthy meals can easily be made in quick time.. but both the big companies and parents are to blame. They need to avoid advertising and follow their instincts.

    • @rogerc23
      @rogerc23 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Parents and caregivers don’t spend hundreds of millions of dollars lobbying ELECTED officials, marketing, putting poison on supermarket shelves and putting their products in schools. You know who is responsible. Govt and the processed food industry.

    I feel like I'm stuck in my Diet, I want to change it with all my heart but I always cave. I've been eating pretty much ONLY fastfood (mcdonalds, hungry jacks, KFC) every single day I eat 2 meals from one of these places. So much coke, chips, burgers every day. I've noticed I now tremor when picking up objects, I'm always tired, feel like complete shit. I'm not "fat" but I know that I have so much fat all around my organs from my diet none of it shows on the outside of my body which I'd say is so much worse because there's not much to tell you "you've gotten too far" until you get real health problems. I know my vitamin levels would be shot, my hormones everything and its most likely physically effecting my brain. I need help .

    • @humblehalfbreed740
      @humblehalfbreed740 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@veganfmfan7239 I don't know, but it (k2) will certainly reduce the risk of calcification and is good for your heart. It's a fat soluble vitamin that is generally not found in plants (unless fermented like natto) and is in dairy and things like liver.

    • @veganfmfan7239
      @veganfmfan7239 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@humblehalfbreed740 thanks, I’m going to do more research. I mean what you are saying is supported but I guess also tempeh (which is fermented and I like) also contains k2, so thankfully it’s not like I would HAVE to have dairy. I just find it interesting a lot of science has told us it is NOT healthy for a variety of reasons, so how is all of that discounted? 🤦‍♀️
