Betamax was not first. Cartrivision! mostly rental but recording was possible. U-matic also predated betamax, but was definitely more commercially oriented.

I only have 1 VHS release from Magnetic Video in my collection; it's the oldest VHS tape I have, and as far as I know, nobody's uploaded the opening and closing to it. It's a VHS of the 1967 Avco/Embassy and Rankin/Bass 2D animated film, "The Wacky World of Mother Goose". I tried watching it, but unfortunately, my VCR had a vertical roll problem with this tape, so I ended up turning it off after a few minutes.
The reason I don't have any more Magnetic Video titles is mainly because, like you said, they're not easy to come by; I haven't tried shopping for them online [yet], but going from the trips I take to places like Half Price Books, Goodwills, Flea Markets, or anywhere else that sells old VHS tapes, they just never pop up; it's usually stuff from other companies, like MCA/Universal, Warner Bros, CBS/FOX, MGM/UA, and probably most prominently, Walt Disney Home Video [Some of the 1980-1986 "Neon Mickey"-era titles are some of my oldest, and most prized, pieces in my collection.]

I just stumbled into your channel while looking for some thrifting content, especially VHS and other old media. I’ve been trying to start my own VHS collection and this was super fascinating! Hope to see more history-type videos and maybe even some about tips to collecting and searching for new tapes!

If you look at some of the earlier copies of Alien, they still have the 'circular' magnetic video logos on the sides, prior to the 20th century combo logo. Some variants of the first design maintained that color center box with the title but lost the 'tape' cut out.
