We do not live in a Republic. We do not vote for a prime minister. We vote for individual MPs who based on a majority elected decides which party forms the government. The government decides which member of their party commands the majority support of the house. If a leader falls out of favour, the constitution allows another to be chosen. People DO NOT vote for a Prime Minister!

Sunak says to the police "we will back you when you take action". He will introduce "a new robust framework". Is that a threat to those who protest? Or is it a threat to the independence of the police force? He questions the result of a by-election, describing it as "beyond alarming". Sunak himself is an unelected oligarch, and has appointed an unelected foreign secretary. But not to worry, he assures us we share "common values of decency and respect". He speaks of Britain as a "democratic society".

Nothing is being done to help out the retired folk. Paying tax on the state pension is wrong. We paid 49 years of tax and national insurance only to be treated badly. High mortgage interest rates and house repossessions in the 1980s and 90s meant many of us could not afford to contribute into private pensions. Low tax thresholds do nothing to encourage people to come off benefits and work. Lowering national insurance only benefits working adults under retirement age. The more you earn the more you save. Not exactly something to benefit those on low incomes. VAT is a killer. We are taxed to the hilt. Tax payers contributions are spent on wars and refugees that are nothing to do with us. Economic migrants who we have no obligation towards and should stop landing on British beaches. Who take money that they dont deserve. They get free care, better than pensioners who have to sell their homes to pay for their care. Not in hotels either. NHS is used by too many people from abroad who were not born in the UK. Our available properties, normally for first time buyers, are being bought by non UK as buy to let. Totally unacceptable. We are still being ruled by Europe with their human rights and other flawed laws. Too much time and money is being given to Woke ideals and "gender" issues. Wishing to change the sex you were born with is a personal choice. Not being able to go out because the roads are so bad and your 17 year old car cannot cope with the condition of the roads. No public transport available either should not be what the elderly are forced to endure in rural areas. We have no choice. Thousands of new houses. Schools over subscribed. No dentists, no doctors, no hospitals. Too many able bodied people claiming benefits and not working. That is rural UK.

    • @aminaghazali

@spragger No, he is not saying anything close to what those 2 fired colleagues said. Braverman was criticising the police for being too lenient, calling the protests hate marches, and even saying that homelessness was a lifestyle choice. Sunak was saying don't let your peaceful demonstrations be overtaken by extremists. Anderson said Khan was controlled by Islamacists and London was being run by Khan's mates. Both Braverman and Anderson were wrong and incited division.
Sunak was being conciliatory. Get your facts right and don't be influenced by the ignorance from some quarters of the far right or left.

What we have is lying, chicken-livered, woke senior officers not fit for purpose, and only interested in further promotion to secure huge pensions and a massive end of service gratuity. “The worst difficulties from which we suffer do not come from without. They come from within. They do not come from the cottages of the wage earners. They come from a peculiar type of brainy people always found in our country, who, if they add something to its culture, take much from its strength. Our difficulties come from the mood of unwarrantable self-abasement into which we have been cast by a powerful section of our own intellectuals. They come from the acceptance of defeatist doctrines by a large portion of our politicians. But what have they to offer but a vague internationalism, a squalid materialism, and the promise of impossible Utopias? Nothing will save England if she will not save herself.”

      It is religious dogma,Judaic,Islamic,
Christian that have created all these conflicts.
Religious indoctrination of children is child abuse and fosters division, conflict, segregation and ultimately hate.

we need a gov. that has genuine integrity, loyalty to its country, who stops taking us into wars we don't want... that doesn't tax what has already been taxed...who cares about the fact that the whole country is sick with stress from the way things have been handled, proper homes for the patriots (instead of causing us to be homeless because it takes every penny we have.).... how abpout tax less so we have the money to spend and grow this country. Give us back our freedom instead of oppressing and dictating etc etc etc etc.... please think before patronising us sir

What exactly did they expect multiculturalism to result in? It's obvious that artificially altering the demographic of a county in a period 25 years or so would result in strange foreign politics ending up in our land.

Well done Rishi. I support your efforts to encourage everyone who is eligible to live in this wonderful country, who have the opportunity to achieve at school, university and in the workplace, to come together to protect the benefits our country offers. Yes let’s kick out hatred in all its formats and get back to being honest, kind, and caring British people. God help us if we ever have to go to war, because we certainly won’t be able to rely or call upon those who are out to undermine decent human values. We won’t win that war.
