Im a lifelong exerciser who is currently fighting bone marrow cancer. I find the video inspiring and will try and exercise more. It's hard, however, to summon the mental toughness to move more when you feel so depleted in energy and strength from chemo and immunotherapy. In 2 cycles I've lost an incredible amount of muscle, a shadow of my former self. I plan on getting my health back and people like Lois make me believe. Thanks for posting

Precisely, I doubt Martin Pistorius will be able to walk today! If he was exercised while in coma but because he had muscle atrophy due to little or no activity he is in a wheelchair permanently.

Do this help to prevent tumor growth or help shrink them before becoming cancer? Do people who workout like this have lower tumors and cancer rates?

In my opinion, I am assuming that this video is referring to cancer patients during their chemo treatments. I don't know if it can shrink tumors. I would ask a cancer doctor or medical encologist.
But Exercise can be helpful before, during, and after cancer treatments.
For example, I had a lumpectomy(partial mastectomy and a lymph nodes biopsy) last month.
Early this morning, I walked for 30 minutes on the treadmill. Ate breakfast, drank plenty of water, took my supplements and medication. Then I went to receive my first round of chemo. A few hours later I returned home, I got back on the treadmill for 30 more minutes. Hopefully this will help some possible side effects. I will take notes and judge from there.
I am just curious if cardio exercising would lessen fatigue, neuropathy, and other possible symptoms associated with chemotherapy. Of course, diet and treatments could help as well. Along with limiting the stress and bad habits. And eating a well balanced diet. It's worth a shot.
But be sure to ask your physician to seek medical advice.

I think exercise can definitely lower your risk of cancer if anything. I wouldn't say exercise directly prevents tumors from growing. Moving around and exercising is critical for any type of recovery. You sit around and you stagnate. You need that blood flow to promote recovery

Has to do with the presence of muscle tissue, maybe apoptosis. I forget the science of it, can't cite source.
