Hiya friends! As you heard, Ryan and I are moving! And we got a house :) so here is the empty house tour! It's like a big empty canvas that we can do whatever we want with, so I'm really excited. If you have any ideas for how to customize, leave it in the comments :)

This house is a DREAM!!! Each room I was like, "omg it's perfect... omg it's PERFECT." 😍 So happy for you two!! I love all the black fixtures, and that adorable black & white tile. Cannot wait to see how you decorate & furnish it. I'm looking forward to your "house project" blogs when you are able to paint/personalize things!
Oh gosh thank you so much!! We are so overwhelmed and excited about it haha! I can't wait to customize it and really make it feel like home, it sort of just feels like a crazy hotel at the moment LOL!
Except the carpet in the dinning room lol I would rip that out so fast unless you're using it for something else.

Plant shelf - big candlesticks (with electric candles if you like), painting / big blown up photos you love, tchotkes, etc. Make it a mantel. :)

@@KelliMarissaVlogs Exactly! My mom had one. She used these gorgeous, ornate candlesticks that were 2 feet tall. She found candles that could be turned on by remote or would turn on at the same time every day and stay lit for a few hours. She had a few pretty baskets and other similar sizes items. It's hard to make it look like a display without clutter, but it WORKS when you figure it out. :)

Lovely house! Funny you mention the hardware 😅 One of the first things I did was add hardware to the kitchen and bathroom cabinets & drawers when I moved into my place. I also tried living without it but after a couple months I sprung for it. Partially for the vain reason of being worried about busting a nail, but mostly because my. hands almost always have a nail oil & lotion on them and I hated the marks it was leaving on everything as a result of not having hardware to grab onto. Anyway, tangent aside, congrats on the house!!

My favorite feature is the surprise bathroom closet whose door acts as a full-length mirror. What a lovely (and HUGE) house, and Kelli, it’s *so* you! I mean, all that black trim and fixtures?!?

Omg all those black fixtures are *chefs kiss* so stunning. Love that it won't lock you into a colour scheme so you can mix up your decor easily, and it will look fab when you have your halloween decorations up
Yesss thank you so much! Honestly it's gonna be so nice because certain rooms I want to have gold lamps/accents and whatnot and some I'm feeling silver so the black keeps it nice and neutral!!
We have silver and black fixtures and they complement very well.
Congratulations on the house! It is absolutely stunning and HUGE! Enjoy making it yours. Just remember, you will be updating your home the entire time you live there, because it is a marathon, not a sprint. Enjoy the process. Pick one room at a time. If you take any advice from anyone, please let it be this, pick one room and stick to it! One project at a time. TRUST ME! I tried to do my kitchen, dining room, living room and hallway when we moved into our home, oh and then not even a month in, got a dang 16 week old puppy! Learn from my mistakes! Lmfao The puppy is now 4.5 years old, my kids are still alive and my husband and I are somehow still married. The hallway just got finished, the living room and kitchen got done that year we moved it. 😂😂😂

Congrats 🎉🎉🎉 Kelli amd Ryan on your new house! I had to show this video to my mom, since she used to be a snowbird in Las Vegas, and my uncle lived there until his death, so about 40 years there.
When Mom and her partner had to sell (his health), they sold most of the contents of the house and one of her cars to the new owner as well. New owner was newly divorced and moving back to Vegas from the Pacific Northwest, so he had nothing but his clothes! His mother did the house tour with him Facetime, so he was moving near his family too. It was a perfect match. I hope your new house is as perfect a match for you.
that one huge room made me laugh so hard, I thought it wouldn't get any bigger then Ryan just... kept backing up more and more hahaha. but CONGRATS! The house is so nice and large and WOW the storage space!!! one thing you can't have enough of is storage space, TRUST lol love this for you guys and cannot wait to see what you do with it

Spathyllium and Sansevieria should do. Very well on that ledge. That space under could also be used as roll out trash containers with doors added if you don't have

The house looks great!! So many nice spaces, bathrooms, and my goodness that bathtub!! 😍❤ If you're planning on changing any of the flooring or walls (e.g. tiles, painting etc) then now is the best time to do that. Someone I know decided to install a dedicated charging station with camera/tech storage cabinet into one of the smaller rooms of his house, which was an absolute pain in the butt to do after everyone had already moved in. It looks absolutely great and very functional, but he regrets not doing that first when the house was empty.

Congratulations! The house is so stunning and you’re going to have an amazing time making it your own! Edited to add: We don’t have handles on our kitchen cabinets either and I have to be very careful not to chip my nail polish accidentally. Something to think about.

@@KelliMarissaVlogsI don't have handles and use the sides of my fingers to open cabinets.. Never a problem with the nails.
@@BrittMFH Once in a while my fingers slip. The drawers are all angled so it’s easy to get a grip on the sides but the cabinets can be a little trickier.
I feel your pain, as my last 2 nail breaks were from handle-less cabinets 😢
This was my life for three years in a rental where I couldn't change it! I am too clumsy for cabinetry without hardware 😂

Congratulations!!!🎉🎉🎉 my only piece of advice would be to remember to routinely flush the toilets that you don’t frequently use. I learned the hard way that when they aren’t flush regularly things tend to dry out and break. Looking forward to the next house video! ❤❤❤
I agree. I have three bathrooms and if I don’t do this the mold will start to build up. Take care of those black fixtures very well because bathrooms can get messy so quickly even though you don’t use them. The only cleaning that I don’t skip weekly are the bathrooms.

Wow -- more than 500 comments on this video!! I'm glad you have so many viewers who also choose to say something. Here's my thought on the kitchen cabinets and whether or not you want hardware on them: I've had both options over the years, and I've found that for me personally, doors/drawers without handles are nail polish ruiners!! It's a clean, smooth look to the design of the room without hardware, but also the cabinets tend to get fingerprints and just somehow dirty over time without something to grab onto when opening them.

It has been a while since I have been in a house built within the last... 20 years or so. Are white colored walls what is the style now? I'm curious if you plan on painting any or let your furniture be the main colors for the rooms.

It looks amazing! So excited for you! I think one of the best things you can do in those large spaces is put in a bunch of textiles (as budget allows obviously) so lots of rugs and curtains and even textile wall hangings. They absorb a lot of the echo and make the big spaces feel more cozy.
Also I would recommend staying away from front load washers and go for Speed Queen brand. They were recommended to us from a friend who repairs appliances and he says that’s what he buys because they are the most reliable and the cheapest to service.

Oh! I recommend Snake Plants! They would look amazing with some books on that stairway shelf! There are some beautiful varieties that are such cool textures. I’ve found some deep dark green ones that I LOVE! The best part is that snake plants don’t need much light to live, so they will be happy there in that darker space, or in any bright space, too! 😍🪴
Recycling or shelves could go under the island. You could get a tension rod and put curtains there if you don't want to see it. I'd turn the bonus room you have secret plans for into a library/craft room, but my husband would probably fight me because he'd want it for a VR set up.
Haha honestly both ideas sound great, I was almost thinking we could make the dining area a little library and use the island as our table but we've got time to decide 🤪
@@KelliMarissaVlogs Absolutely. I can remember my mom swapping the dining room and living room between two different spaces multiple times throughout my childhood. The whole house got rearranged frequently. Many stubbed toes and knocked knees were had because there was suddenly a coffee table where the previous week there'd been empty space!

The house is absolutely stunning! I could only dream about owning something that beautiful one day! I would put a movable bar trolley under the island, great for when guests come over but out of the way for the rest of the time!

The plant shelf in the stairs have an outlet to put grow lights 😁, honnestly I do prefer the idea of books! (And I have a crazy amount of plants!

I bet if you wanted you could get some little shelving/rollout units to fit underneath your island in the kitchen. I really love the black/white/grey, it's perfect imo. Kelly if you have a store near you called The Container Store, and if it's in your budget, look into their closet designing service. My walk in closet was designed by them. I have so much better use of my closet now.

Kelli it's gorgeous I'm so stoked for you both 🎉 the kitchen I'm in love with! You could put draws or bar fridge and storage under the island. Not sure if you've seen them but Evan and Katelyn on TH-cam they've done some super cute DIY and organisational vids.
This is so lovely!! Moving into a new place you own and can make your own over time is soo exciting, I'm very happy for you. Also YES new builds have way too many bathrooms!! I've seen places like, 5 bed 5 bath. Who wants to clean that many bathrooms?!

Holy massive bathroom! 😮 The whole place is really nice and such big spaces and plenty of storage. There's something about that loft space that I really like. I'm not sure what I would do with it but I just know that I like it.
Are you going to leave all the walls super white like they are? It's truly a blank slate to work with.
The hollow for the kitchen island... get thee to IKEA with the dimensions! You can add in some cabinetry or open shelves or whatever makes you happy. :)
Your house is beautiful. And definitely no rush on the projects. Our cabinets are sans hardware. We don’t want to rush these things. 7 years+ and have yet to tackle it. 😂 Not that you asked at all. But I did think of a things for that under island hole. So one obviously do a built in trash recycling pull out. But the main one hit me as putting in a couple of floating shelves for smaller appliances and cookbooks. So they are easily accessible yet not always in the way on the counters. I showed the hubs the mud room/laundry room tile. It’s my Dream laundry room flooring. Of course I know you can’t have kitties unless someone is up for shots. But the hubs said that stairwell shelf would be a great kitty hang out. 😻

P.S. I’m going on a limb and saying the special room is going to be a sneaker room. 😻 I’d also think perhaps a library. But looking forward to seeing what you are doing with your lovely place.
So excited for you guys! You deserve this, and some peace and quiet! That master bathroom… whoa! That’s a very nice bedroom, but you could put a chaise lounge sofa in that bathroom and take a nap there after a bath. 😂 and about the dining room table, personally my boyfriend and I sit at the island that’s closer to the fridge and stove and we never sit at the dining room table. I put placemats there and different centerpieces, but the chairs barely ever move. And I bet even though that space under the island is awkward, I’m sure it will come in useful somehow. Anyway, congrats!! It’s gorgeous.

I absolutely love the black hardware. Since this won’t be our forever home I just pick this idea for my future space. The amount of bathrooms you have is insane. I have 3 and it’s well enough and I have a very strict system to clean them because I don’t like to accumulate mold and soap residues. At least you don’t have to run too much to purify yourselves 😅
The kitchen is a dream. You can easily add more cabinets under the island. It’s just the money, but also you can add plants to bring life into the space.

W💜W….gorgeous house. I’m so excited for you two. Lots of natural light and so spacious. When you get your big appliances(washer/dryer/refrigerator)for your home make sure you buy warranties. Repairs and labor is expensive. Deciding what to do and how to make the space work best for you will take time and patience but so worth it in the end. Congratulations on this new chapter in your life and thanks for including us in your journey 😊💜

In case it's helpful, a little PSA for a house with spare bathrooms: After we had lived in our house for 6 months, we started smelling a horrible smell that was so strong we thought it was a decaying animal in the walls at first. Long story short, it was old, stale water for the pipes in a bathtub we don't use. If this happens to you the fix is simple - just run the water in the tub or shower every 6 weeks or so. It can negatively effect your air quality as well if it's left too long, so it's important to keep the water fresh. I hope this helps somebody!
Oh gosh thank you so much for this tip! I showed your comment to Ryan and we immediately ran all the showers and sinks haha! How long do you recommend doing it for at a time??
@@KelliMarissaVlogsJust 10 or 15 seconds is all we do! We also try to do things like emptying the dehumidifier into that bathtub (probably not an appliance you need in the desert 😅), just enough to make sure the water is flushed out.

Congratulations!! That is an amazing house! For the space under the island, you could put shelves for all the big kitchen items. I am seeing a really cool fabric devider for your office on a track in the ceiling to pull when guests visit. The number of bathrooms is wow. But very useful. The master suite is fabulous.

What an amazing house! Im so happy for you, and you can have so much fun creating fun spaces, you can have your own offices/gaming/nail rooms and anything you want! I thought our flat was pretty big by English standards but American houses are something else! Maybe you can have black handles on the kitchen cupboards if you want to keep a clean look, or make them into those ones that tap open (I have no idea how that works, might be a huge undertaking lol)?
The house is gorgeous! I was exited to see the filming space! You should move your queen bed in there and treat yourself to a massive king sized bed in the primary! The spaces are big and beautiful, congratulations!
