    I've been using the Solo battery sprayer and I love it too. The only flaw is the lack of a battery gauge. Now given that you have EGO 56v batteries, I recommend to get one EGO Nexus escape and you'll be charging via USB much easier. Good video as always!

      Thanks for sharing and yes no LED indicator seems like someone was sleeping at the design phase but its still awesome. I gotta look into the EGO Nexus

    I bought the Sure Shot, but it wouldn't work with my portable Milwaukee tire inflator, because it is threaded and it wouldn't fit. I took out the treadless nipple and changed it out to a threaded version. I had to drill and tap it out though using 1/8 NPT thread. The thread they use is some awkward size. Looks like Solo has a newer version of their sprayer. I think I'll try that. Much better than having to charge up a heavy can.

    Perfect timing on putting out this video, Phil. I've been window shopping trigger sprayer alternatives and have been looking at all of these. One thing I don't like about the aerosol can versions like the GG one is the design doesn't allow you to use a trigger spray adapter like you can use on a standard aerosol can. One being the Rustoleum Comfort Grip. My finger hurts after a short while pressing down on those small white triggers. Can't use one on either the Sure Shot or GG. Really been eyeing the Solo for a while. After seeing your demo I'm planning to buy a few straight from the Solo website.

      i bought 6 so far and whats neat is you can use any standard 16oz or 32oz bottle with the Solo head if you want to use any wall or cabinet storage solution to maximize space

    As always, great review on various products. I think Solo sprayers are good quality and good value, I have the pump up one and a garden sprayer, both are well made and held up for years. Just ordered the rechargeable one you showed, sure I’ll be very happy with it.

    I made a portable mini compressed air tank. 3000 psi, with a digital tire gauge. So you can charge your bottles off site. Without the need ot an air compressor. The tank is capable of filling 2 flat sedan tires upto their proper psi level. So for sure comes handly to recharge your sprayers many times, before the tank needs to be refilled.

    Could do a video doing a waterless wash with the Solo chargeable sprayer? If you already did it I missed it but will watch if you already have, I just need to find it then.

    Hey Phil, great video topic. Two words that I often don’t believe would belong in the same sentence is Taiwan & good quality! Lol. That Solo sprayer looks to be LAGIT! I could use that for placing my Adams undercarriage spray to darken my wheel well areas. Thx

      stuff from Taiwan is pretty good quality versus mainland PRC this is for most tools and equipment the QC between the two regions is very different. the Solo unit is awesome

    Fwiw you can use one of those portable pumps to charge them. I have a Worx 20v pump that i use to charge my Sure shot. I also use it to charge my larger moded IK9… takes a bit but works well.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      yes Jerry uses his M18 pump to use his, but i still like the Solo better since i rarely leave air in my compressor and the Solo is ready to go always.

    The atomizer would be good to mix 50/50 acetone & ATF for some penetrating fluid. The other pressurized spray bottles dont give you the ability to equip a straw

  • @ncooty

    @1:44: The Sure Shot website says specifically not to use their sprayers with acidic liquids.

  • @rhsab1
    @rhsab1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Phil I already had the trigger screws near the cap fail on the 460 sprayer. Maybe you can improve this sprayer head mounting especially the two screws at the cap.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      really i used these almost every day several times so far so good, how did the screws fail can you elaborate so i can further look into this

    • @rhsab1
      @rhsab1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, there is a plastic piece that extends from the red cap inside the sprayer head where the two screws mount. As you grip the sprayer head over a short amount of time, the screws loosen and that thin plastic breaks.

    The only problem with solo is the neck. Mine broke from there. But other than that it’s good

    Any issues with acid based solutions through the solo?

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i do not use any acid based products they have no place in my garage as i feel there are safer other solutions these days. You may want to contact Solo to ask but it should be acid safe but i do not know how long it would hold up based on the actual Ph

  • @gaw528
    @gaw528 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Could you use the solo with wheel cleaner?

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      im sure you could as long as it not high PH or acid, this would not be a good application method for our wheel cleaning foam because our system needs to be foamed to maximize the effectiveness.

  • @timbrown9731

    Yeah but Phil you can get a cheap charger off Amazon that’s a USB the only other thing I don’t like is there’s no indication light letting you know if it’s completely charged not a dealbreaker.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yeah i was shocked to not see an LED indicator as well i almost thought my first one was defective. I charged my first one for 1 hour and so far has used it for hours and it still works but for $36 they should at least give you a plug as not everyone has one laying around. curious if you can charge this sprayer with a USB port inside most new cars

    • @timbrown9731
      @timbrown9731 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@autofanaticcars I was the same way Phil, when I charge mine up I didn’t read the instructions which you know there’s really not much to it and there was no light at all and I figured well maybe I’m doing something wrong lol i’m gonna have to look on my box and see how many Milla amps it I will except ect I have a universal USB plug-in charger I bought from Amazon for like 15 bucks that I use.

    • @timbrown9731
      @timbrown9731 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@autofanaticcars OK so it’s a 3.7 V 1.4 amp hour, they only talk about your standard 5 V USB charging so I would assume that your modern car could charge it!
