Motogadget stuff is great, a bit expensive but well worth the money. The M-Unit not need to be reprogrammed if the battery gets flat or even if you remove the battery as I did many times without reprogramming the M-Unit as you stated down the comments. Hard tails with ape hangers are not my test but I guess the owner loves it, nice work with the electronics 👍🏻
We installed the m unit on my 1970 Honda cb350. Turned it on and nothing worked. We will revisit your original m unit install on Thursday and go over it one wire at a time The technology you used here very impressive. Ty
Hi David, do you know that is a “negative” installation?, only ground signals goes in to the “in” side of the unit and only one (+) for “AUX IN”, this is for my old (M-Unit V2) I am not very familiar with the “Blue”
@@carlosgooglemaps94 Yes, We removed the M button and hooked directly to the m unit and all worked fine....Now we have a new issue with diode lighting both sides for turn signal indicator on Tachometer. Only the left side works and we have fiddled with it for numerous changes to no effect....any ideas here???? TY

Since you are using 4 switches only (without a start switch) I am wondering if you managed to pair the motogadget with the m.ride app and use the Keyless-Go feature. Intsructions I find for using it require the use of a start switch to swith the m.unit one, start the bike, switch off the bike and then switch of the m.unit. I installing it on a kickstart only 79 Triumph T140V and any advice would be greatly appreciated

Not need to be reprogrammed the M-Unit “keeps” the set up you input, when remove the battery from the bike always disconnect the (+) first, when installing the battery back connect the (-) first

I was confused by setting up the wheel diameter... Does it recommend the diameter that the sensor needs to be fitted to get an accurate reading? Surely it would need to know the diameter of where the magnet is fitted in reference to the wheel size too?
The magnet can be placed anywhere on the wheel. No matter where it's placed relative to the center of the wheel the outside circumference of the tire still only makes one full rotation for ever time the magnet passes the sensor.
Think of it as a pizza with eight slices. If you put that magnet in the center of pizza (slice 1) and turn that pizza in a circle , the crust of slice 1 will travel the same distance as the magnet in center. Hope that helps visualize your question
I understand your theory but it only asks for the wheel diameter as a reference, doesn't ask where the magnet has been placed, so that magnet reference could be any amount of time between the smaller inner diameter by the spindle or the longer time being placed on the outer diameter of the wheel.... The magnet was set on the inner diameter of the wheel by the spindle.... That bearing or hub could be the same diameter on any sized wheel.... I hope I'm making sense 🙈 I just thought the magnet would need to be placed on the outer diameter of the wheel so the unit can work out the time between revolutions by the measurement of the wheel
@@bazw1685 It asks for the outside circumference of the tyre to be input not the diameter of the sensor which is irrelevant. The tyres circumference is 2008mm. The magnet tells the sensor when one revolution of the wheel has been completed and then the computer then knows that 2008mm has been travelled. It doesn't mattet how far away the sensor/magnet is away from the centre of the wheel because each revolution of the wheel will still only send one pulse to the computer.
There is a through hole where a mounting stud comes up so you can bolt down the tank. I drilled a small hole through the rubber isolator that goes around that stud and ran the wire through that.

If you kill the bike with the switch on the handle bars, do you have to tap the key to turn off the electrical?

The m-unit needs to be reprogramed but the m-lock doesn't.

Out of interest could you mount the dash into a billet clamp bracket to replace the existing bar clamps?
Yes, a few companies even make new triple clamps with a spot already machined in to mount the motoscope mini.

Where did you run the wire for the RFID puck under the Triumph logo?

These will only work with an M-unit because they are all momentary switches.

I convert them to negative ground.

is the key sensor wire running through the gas tank?
Yes, there is a factory hole through the tank in the center for the mounting stud.
