    Great job finding the bike and the ramp. The TW200 is an excellent little bike. It is super maneuverable, and its low stance makes it safe to ride in tight, tricky situations.
    I bought a new one in 2004, and put over 40,000 miles on it over the next several years, riding it almost daily to work & back. I was getting about 80 - 85 mpg on mine.
    It’s very handy around town, but really shines out in the boondocks.
    I was able to find a stock Yamaha luggage rack for mine, on e-bay. It helped a lot.
    Happy Trails

    A great find and you'll have loads of fun riding that on modest trails. ATGATT - all the gear, all the time. An evaporative cooling vest will keep you comfy in the heat. Love your RV, too!

    Great ride, a few tips from an old timer rider, 1. hook up the left side tiedown straps to the park ramp before rolling the bike up. 2, put self-stick rubber step strips on the ramp and 3. USE aircraft wingnuts with nylon inserts!! (regular wingnuts vibrate loose and ramp can bounce off)

    • @geopro0780
      @geopro0780 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Home Depot or Amazon for those new wingnuts .. Robert Westbrooks is absolutely right. Keeps you from one day finding you've lost your ramp.

    hey Eric, good luck With the new bike. It looks really good. I would advise you to get a set of magnetic trailer lights because it's just safer. by the back of the bike it looks like there's plenty of clearance but the front wheel may get in the way of your brake light

    Love the review but I call B.S. that you hit 80 unless you drove off a cliff

    • @bavarianbanshee
      @bavarianbanshee 5 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      I had a TW, it was bone stock, and I can verify that - unless it's been regeared - it would never, ever hit 80 mph before the engine turned inside-out.

      @badbiker666 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      80 kph is about 50 mph, so yeah, that's possible. You can upgrade the sprockets (front and rear) to get a TW200 up to about 65, but I don't believe the sprockets exist that will allow one of these to hit 80 mph.

    Your going to love you're new TDub. I've had one for about 5 years, and it is so much fun. I went with the 80-20 tires, since the worst I ride is dirt roads, and they work great. They make riding on pavement much nicer. The first improvement I would recommend is a "Seat Concepts" replacement seat. It would make a world of difference on any trip longer than 30 minutes. That original seat will bust your behind after a short ride. Check out the tw200forum.com , lots of great people there, and all kinds of reviews and suggestions for upgrades too. Happy Trails.

    Love the bike, but your tail lights are partially blocked, might want to add some to the ramp. Should be an easy fix by using the existing plug and running new led lights. It is just one of those things to make sure that those traveling behind you can really see the lights better. Again nice bike and I think you will have some epic videos with it and good flexibility.

    Great choice for a bike. Look into a shock saver. It's a block that sits on top of front tire and under steering brace. Allowing you to cinch it down high without blowing out a shock seal . Sence shocks sent as compressed . And do you still have the rc truck ain't seen in in awhile

    Those TWs are a lot of fun but unless yamaha changed them significantly since the 1990s they only go about 55 maybe 60 if you rev the piss out of them. Still for a lightweight dual sport they are super reliable with minor maintenance, if you do a lot of highway mileage do the valve check every 5-8k and you won't have any issues.

      ya, would've liked to be beside him at 80mph to believe that. My XT250 might do that downhill with a tail wind, otherwise it's pretty much topped out at 75 on the level if you're hunkered down low.

      Yeah, not quite sure how he spooled that up to 80 mph. That's about the top speed of my Kawasaki KLR 650 dual sport. Having said that, he seems to have the perfect bike to help add content to the channel. Great move to get that bike!

      Can confirm, in WA state you have to have a moto endorsement for anything over 50ccs. The TW200 needs a standard moto endorsement same as any “real” bike from a CBR to an R1200GS to a Harley.

    Eric,
    The Yamaha TW200. What a great choice! Low saddle, light weight, something like 80 miles to the gallon, on/off road capable, inexpensive to buy and maintain...should I gone on? A true classic. Although I have not owned or even ridden a motorcycle since a horrendous crash in 2008, your video really really makes me want to get back on the saddle. My wife and I have a pair of t-dubs. We got them for exactly the same reasons you got yours. We go full timing later this year, until then we ride around home. Ours have been a lot of fun so far. They are good bikes.
    Congrats!

    Alway keep Jax in your head when your riding fast. You alway want to come home safe to him.
    I know, I'm not your mother. Safety first. Years ago, I wept out seeing a snake in the street. Landed up against a fence bruised and bloody. Texas countryside at the time.

    Been riding for years. If I were you I would get some long pants to wear when riding. Road rash isn't fun and can kill you. JMHO

    Looks like so much fun! I'm sure everybody and their brother is going to say something about this but I'm going to say it anyway. Please don't ride without gear! I just don't want to see you wipe out in those rocks and shred yourself! I love to ride as much as the next person. I'm totally happy for you! You're gonna have many miles of good times on this bike!

    Looks like a different set of trade-offs but that they will match what you want to do perfectly. Looks like being a bit lighter and the higher center of gravity made it easy to get on the back of the RV as well. Enjoy your new bike!

    FFFUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKK YEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!!! TW200 is the enduro of my dreams! I have wanted one for years and years, and even almost bought one a couple years ago but didnt want to spend the cash. Congratulations man, thats a damn good lookin bike. Thats good you know how to clean the carb now, because bikes like that, ridden the way they're meant to be, lol...itll come in handy. That back tire is the reason I love those Tdubs! Its the closest thing we can get to a Honda fat cat or Yamaha big wheel these days. Thats friggin awesome man, I cant wait to see the videos from the trail rides and stuff. Cool deal man!
