  • ** Philippines Xmas 2018 **
    The festive thrills continue with the first of our 'Philippine National Rail' videos from the 2018/2019 Xmas trip to Manila.
    We start with a two part look at Tutuban railway station, before returning for a more indepth look at the soon to be demolished Caloocan Workshops. Later we head on down the south line to Bicol to check out the large Naga yard and locomotive depot.
    In between you will likely need to endure local things of a non-rail, sometimes even non-transport, nature. You get that.
    All SRF/PRHS videos come with the low quality guarantee that you have come to expect from our channel

    922, indeed the youngest of the 900s.

    So KuHa 202-107 is already coupled to its other new cars from Christmas.... this 203 set is interesting because its livery is on an alternating pattern...
    You can also see MoHa 202-14 as the second coach of 202-107, and KuHa 203-4 (EMU 04's Head Car) on the left track of where EMU 07 is.
    1:46
    This EMU 203 Trainset is the original EMU 07 as from the April 2018 reconfiguration... as you can see, the number on its rear is "07", the number was changed a few times to "02" (a bit of a longer story why). KuHa 202-107 was supposed to be the head car of that set... but KuHa 202-3 replaced KuHa 202-107, and 202-3 is currently acting as the head car of this trainset...

      The mixed coloured set came about due to an accident just before Christmas.
      The blue car it replaced has been damaged. Last I saw it was in Tutuban yard.

      So sir, you've seen PNR replacing MoHa 203-15 of PNR EMU 06 / 06/08 / 08? (KuHa 202-3 [Head Car of PNR EMU 06] and KuHa 202-5 [Head Car of PNR EMU 08] sometimes switches places... while MoHa 202-119 still remains as the 5th-end car numbered "08" on its rear...)
      This is something unusual at PNR that we don't see and is rare... they are now using the 203 Coaches with its Silver and Orange Livery that are available... and using them to replace the active ones with the blue ones that are needed to get replaced... it would be lovely to see all the EMU 203 Coaches active along the line... but some are resting, left unused, for backup (maybe), and damaged...
      There is a 203 Coach with the number "03" on its rear sitting on Tutuban as I've seen it on Cyber Orion's Photo... take note that, All the Head Cars of the PNR 203 Series are painted with the Blue and Orange Livery.
      Legend:
      ■KuHa 202-3: Head Car of EMU 06
      ■KuHa 202-5: Head Car of EMU 08
      ■MoHa 203-15: the original 3rd Coach of EMU 06 (06/08 / 08)
      ■MoHa 203-13: the one who replaced MoHa 203-15 and is still wearing the Silver and Orange Livery, MoHa 203-13 is also the original and former 2nd coach of EMU 04 from its original 4-car formation (it can be noticed with its '4B' on the lower right of the side of the coach).
      ■EMU 03 end car in Blue and Orange Livery: may or may not be SaHa 203-10

      @@FauxWhistle9262 If thats the accident damaged one yes.
      While I did not actually see the swap, I saw the set both before and after.
      I inspected the damaged car afterwards.

    Brad, you say 922 is the last of its class, is'nt 919 also a U15 ? What is there stranded down south of Naga City. ?

    • @CyberOrion
      @CyberOrion 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      901-915: U14C
      917-922: U15C
      From what I know, the only difference with the two models are horsepower range and few differences on the outside. For me, I easily notice which is which with the shape of the number plates on the top of their hoods. On the U14Cs, their number plates are flat, and for U15Cs, they are slanted.

    • @NeathSpadge
      @NeathSpadge  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@CyberOrion 901-905 are actually U15C according to GE. I know Wikipedia disagrees, but Wikipedia is usually wrong :-) The builders plate that was on 908 (ex 904) was U15C.
      The mixup appears to have come from a U14C bogie on a U15C. These are interchangeable, so that is not surprising..

    • @NeathSpadge
      @NeathSpadge  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes 919 is also a U15C. But it was built three units prior to 922, which is the last (as per Cyber Orion's) list below.
      Two 5000 and one 2500 class are currently in Naga, with only one of the 5000s being operational.
      Have not been able to find out if the line at Libmanan has been fixed and BCT services resumed.
