This video shows you how to install a new TRQ radiator in your 1996-2002 Toyota 4Runner. Overheating is a sure sign there’s something wrong with your cooling system. A leak, rust, or obstructions are all cases that may require a radiator replacement. Install a new TRQ radiator that’s engineered to fit your vehicle.

This video helped thru the process. A few things: (1) For me it was MUCH easier to remove the skid plate to work from underneath (2) If your transmission cooler lines are hooked up to the radiator then when you disconnect you WILL be training transmission fluid! Clamp off the two hoses prior to removing them!

a decent vid w/ good detail, I was able to do it w/o removing the fan and shroud altogether, and still I removed the engine shield underneath that made working on the bottom (hoses, hardware)alot easier. Not going against the vid pls but it's good to share advice, good luck guys.

No need to remove the fan!!! The bottom piece of the fan shroud can be removed.

I'm glad I watched until the end. I thought it could be blocked water flow in the radiator when it could just be an air pocket. Where's my flow chart? Why didn't I check the obvious first?

I have a coolant leaking from my trans oil pan. I believe its from a faulty radiator. If i replace the radiator will that correct the problem or will i also need to change the transmission fluid after the radiator is replaced?
