    From "The Stolen Earth":
    1. Calufrax Minor -- in "The Pirate Planet" (4th Doctor), written by Douglas Adams, the Doctor sees what happens to "Calufrax." He doesn't call it "Minor" but he does describe it as a cold, icy little world.
    2. In "The Trial of a Time Lord" (6th Doctor) -- the Earth is moved 2 light years by the Time Lords. The 10th Doctor mutters to himself, "I've only seen this one time before" or something like that, referring to the Earth being moved by the Time Lords. At least the Daleks were nice enough to put a shield around the Earth before they moved it. The Time Lords didn't, and about 95% of all life was destroyed.
    I told my sister that since she doesn't watch Classic Doctor Who, she missed these two connections!

    • @andrewbowman4611

      The line about trying to move the Earth once before is actually a reference to The Dalek Invasion of Earth, in which the Daleks attempt to move the Earth. The Time Lords succeeded in moving the Earth, so the word 'tried' is the clue there.

    That reminds me… Who painted “Gallifrey Falls” (or whatever the painting is actually called)? It must have been painted after the events of the Time War, but the Doctor was, or so he believed, the only survivor. If it was not painted by them, then they must realise that there was at least one other Gallifreyan survivor of that conflict. Why did they not follow this up?

    This episode also foreshadowed the Doctor being the Timeless Child.
    Council says only the Timeless Child has ever escaped from that room.
    And the Doctor gets himself and Clara out stating he had also done so when he was a kid.

    I think in Power of the Doctor the Master must have gained the Doctors memories, how else would he have known what outfits to pick out? That's how he knew the song on the recorder, he was the Doctor at the time!
    Also in Universe Verity was probably named because her Gran had told her parent (whichever side) that story about John Smith throughout their life and they loved the name!

  • @GTArajgaming
    @GTArajgaming ปีที่แล้ว +4

    The master knew about the tune because he forced 13th to regenerate into him, that would have carried over ALL prior memories as if it were a "normal" regeneration

    I’ll go one better with The Skye Boat Song being the theme to Outlander.
    The author of the original book series, Diana Gabaldon, took inspiration from having seen The War Games and named the character Jamie Fraser for Jamie McCrimmon played by Frazer Hines.

    Also, about the Master playing that tune on the recorder, I orginally thought they just put some audio from the Troughton era over it, but it was revealed that Sacha Dhawan actually went to the effort of practicing the tune, so my respect to him for putting in the effort.

    How did the Master know the tune... Did we forget that he forced the Doctor into regenerating into him and as such actually makes him the 14th Doctor because he calls himself the Doctor and would have all the memories he had up until that point this also means that the Doctor has had the same face as a previous incarnation 3 times on TV the first is Tom Baker's the Curator, the 2nd being Jodie Whittaker after the Doctor reverts back to herself again and finally David Tennant when they regenerate and receive the same face as 10. This isn't the only time this channel hasn't really explored this while talking about the subject. Also now that you've pointed out the Cyberman painting in The Day of the Doctor, does anyone know why there is a bust of Albert Einstein right under it? If all of these things in this wing of the gallery have something to do with the Doctor? Could Einstein himself be a future incarnation of the Doctor? Doubtful but hey that would be fun.

  • @anhurtorrez
    @anhurtorrez ปีที่แล้ว

    Some of these not many would of noticed unless they either had those things, like the DvD, or know Kanji. Also for the Sush part if i remember right Tom Baker did that a few times, and Sylvester McCoy did it to Ace in The Silver Nemesis when she asked him about the secret he is holding. Which by the way the only time in the original even mentions anything about that.

  • @Croftice1
    @Croftice1 ปีที่แล้ว

    The tune that Sacha's "Mastor" (a blend of MASter and docTOR) is playing, implies, that he has (at least limited) access to the Doctor's memories, since he chose his attire from multiple Doctor regenerations (mostly 7th, but there still are others mixed in) and that he also uses the "recorder"(?) (isn't that an ordinary flute? Or is it a British thing?), that the 2nd regeneration used. Yes, he is the Master hijacking the Doctor's body, but it seems, that the hijack isn't just one sided. After all the Master forced the Doctor to regenerate into him, so underneath the physical appearance of the Master is still some stuff from the Doctor. It's a regeneration after all. All Doctor's regenerations are different personalities with their own quirks and stuff, but overall it's still the same individual with access to memories of the previous regenerations, if needed to. That's how 12th Doctor remembers stuff, that 11th did before, or 10th, or 9th, etc. That's how regeneration works, even a forced one.

    • @Croftice1
      @Croftice1 ปีที่แล้ว

      The place the 13th Doctor found herself in, speaking to the various incarnations of the Doctor (calling themselves the Gardians of the Edge) was the Edge of (their) Existence, as they explained to her, that each regeneration passes through to make room for the next one. That's quite rubbish, if you ask me, because no previous regeneration ceased to exist, so couldn't really, as they implied, pass through to make room for the next one. I mean 9th personality was still part of the 10th in the Christmas Invasion, wasn't it? Some regenerations still sport manners and quirks of their predecessors from times to times, so they can't be erased from existence. Maybe it was the thing with the forced regeneration, but the Guardians didn't seem to imply it's a special case now, it seemed, like a normal thing. Each regeneration should eventually pass through and make room for the next one. Anyway kinda unrelated, so back to topic on hand.

    • @DrWhoFanJ
      @DrWhoFanJ ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A recorder and a flute are two different instruments. The easiest way to tell one from the other is that a flute goes horizontally from the mouth, while a recorder goes vertically.
      (That’s not to say you can just play one the other way and it changes; it’s simply that the way they are designed to be played has that difference!)

    Doctor Who and mysteriously odd plots that often retell a earlier story that has occurred more than an Odd singing at the Doctors weddings on multiple occasions things happen often the wrong way round, but easter eggs have be a part of thevtime lords time on tv since the 60s or you would think? I doubt back then easter eggs weren't called that but i maybe incorrect, and so i apocalypse.
    Love hidden messages in plane sight though sometimes there might be quite a few in one scene or an object or a reference to a date or a familiar face in a photograph or the doctor popping up in different ways throughput history waring different faces but never cross his own timelines probably, effectively changing history perhaps? Doctor Who history and related easter eggs sometimes will often over look his involvement in his friends lifes either accidentally or just forgetfulness or something he can't even see coming yet he says he remembers everything or is that a easter egg to from a different angle?
    Now Doctor Who is 60 might time for the good doctor to find some point to look backwards on those things and have sometimes celebrating those missing memories by reflecting and revising old memories and friends from those moments in time and space? Call it lost easter eggs or blink or you'll miss it? 11:49 pm

    OK, the painting’s based on a real world one?
    If I didn’t know better, I’d assume they’ve lifted idea from Terry Pratchett’s Night Watch.
