@@mickeybughJust legally video recording in public, nothing more. I bet you made yourself foolish on the internet walking up to them. Triggered snowflake much?
Sorry, but if this was journalism, this was a joke. Breaking the internet? Growing movement? That might be one of the biggest fibs you could have put to words. This movement isn't growing. Its stagnating and much smaller than it was a few years ago. This is a TINY niche of TH-cam, with the largest creator not even breaking a million subs. I watch cat videos that get more views than anyone on this side of TH-cam gets on a great day. Auditing peaked several years ago and has been on a massive decline since, with the exception of one or two creators that are still growing orgranically. If this was supposed to be a neutral look at things, it failed miserably and was incredibly under researched. You have creators that are purchasing comments and engagement, creators purchasing views, a largely disproportioned number of creators in this niche that are domestic abusers, convicted of violent crimes, child m*lesters and r*pists. Ask NastyN about his buddy NorCal Copwatch and why he deleted his channel six months ago after his record was released, give or take a week or two. Ask him about News now Houston. The man they consider the "father" of auditing. You might have a hard time getting ahold of him since he is in prison for r*aping his own child. Maybe Texas Sheepdog will do an interview, the whole child p*rn thing he was arrested for recently might be an issue though. The biggest problem with all of it though, is no one has a constitutional right to TH-cam. The act of filming is different than the act of publishing and when publishing anything to social media, you have rules to follow as a creator, including privacy. Filming is irrelevant when you are posting to a private, third-party platform that you have no constitutional protection on. Your right to disseminate information doesn't override the fact that if you chose to publish on a platform with privacy standards, especially involving children, doing so knowing you do not have consent of your subjects, and in most cases have outright been denied consent, is just an indication of lack of journalistic integrity and a moral compass. There is a reason they get privacy struck, constantly and whine about it to their followers. It is a grift in 99% of cases, no more, no less. There are actually people out there that are making an effort to make a difference in our government, but the losers harassing people on sidewalks and private businesses? No.
Yeah, I found this rather middling myself. I see he tried to be neutral, but the video made supposed-auditors more sympathetic than they actually are. Taking someone serious, who intentionally insults a person to garner a reaction isn’t journalism, nor is it auditing. Those are fighting words; the actions of former convicts. Douglas could’ve shown real cop watchers. Josh mentioned those and Audit the Audit displays quite a few legit ones. AtA might be rather harsh on the police, but I find it odd that he wasn’t part of this video. Holding officials accountable is a good thing, but a hidden camera would be more effective and would show a genuine encounter, but we know that doesn’t get views/money.
Agree, part of the reason for the decline is that now the courts/cops aren't backed up from all the lock downs they actually have the bandwidth to properly address these criminals. So more and more of them are actually getting arrested, getting charged, convicted, and having to go on probation. The new ones don't stick around long cuz they make 0 money and realize a pocket full of trespassing charges isn't worth it. The few long timers are still just milking their dumb fans for all the dollars they can.
Perfectly said! This video was practically promoted as an exposé, or as an 'incredibly well done' look at 'both sides of the coin.' It's failed miserably. The points you've made here were completely ignored, yet they're the only ones that matter. It's pretty telling when one comment covers the subject being discussed better than the entire video itself does!! Thanks!
They can when they stalk and harass the officer. DMA and LIA have gone to officers homes. You could be the most saintly cop on the force but once these chickleheads cross the line into their personal lives they will get the evil cop they want to portray. Their videos are carefully cobbled together to paint themselves as perfect angels and every officer they deal with as a member of the third Reich. The whole reason they have devolved into harassing private businesses, schools, government buildings, and houses of worship is because the bread and butter traffic stops stopped getting the reactions they fish for. They are forcing encounters with police because they were being ignored.
@@leroywareproductions2497 So you are saying that if a cops says that hes going to arrest you for something you are not doing wrong, that can be edited? You are so naive. and an idiot
No he can't but he makes a ton of money by trying. He even gets more when he manages to get arrested for trespassing or disorderly in public. It doesn't matter that what they did is illegal, courts don't have the time to handle the nonsense so most time they don't even get taken to court. If they do all it is is a small fine. They make far more from the videos. Auditing private businesses and churches is ridiculous. LIA has even gone to a cop's home, with a bill board truck and harassed the man's family. That's really teaching us about our 1st amendment rights. I would like to see every last one of them locked up.
This was well researched, and I appreciate your efforts to remain unbiased, giving an equal perspective between both sides of the argument. With that said, I feel you barely scratched the surface in this. There are many Auditors out there with extensive criminal history prior to becoming auditors. There have been many incidents where violence has occurred mainly in the auditors' part. Elderly people pepper sprayed or even brutally beaten, homeless people shot, and even heinous crimes committed against women and children. The personality types consistent with these crimes (narcissistic, predatory, abusive, etc.) are the kind of people you find all over the Auditing community. I would consider making another one of these exploring a few other Auditors and their exploits. Even if they won't agree to be interviewed, their channels can provide you all you need to know where they stand and their criminal records can speak volumes about the type of people they are.
I don't have a clue as to what you are talking about. I've watched dozens of these videos and have yet to see any of them commit a crime or assault anyone who didn't attack them first. Perhaps you are watching the wrong ones. Watch Long Island Audits. Or Hendry. Or there are many others who conduct themselves respectfully and lawfully. They just let the police or whoever show us what sorts they are. There's a wide variety and some are very aggressive but some just peacefully video and most are civil and respectful when addressed. But none of them can make a cop misbehave. That's the cop's choice. I'm more concerned over police malfeasance.
"giving an equal perspective between both sides of the argument. " and that is what being a member of the press should be.. and they need to get the public on their side instead of hassing members of the public..if they keep pressing it states will start to pass laws of who can be a member of the press..the first amendment is not absolute just like the second is not absolute i.e. some states require a weapon permit..2nd amendment rights can be taken away i,e, being a felon...

Doug, I think you did a great job. I would expand on the next one and maybe show more of what they do is only for the wallet. Make them tell you how they helped any change in anyone's rights or freedoms. Thats why we call them frauditors cause what they say and do is a fraud. You could do a whole documanery on just the post office And you could keep going.
But where does the teaching come in? The two auditors here said they teach people about the first amendment, but I've only ever heard them make snide remarks and talk down to everyone they come in contact with, even when the public is being sincere wondering what they are filming.
I have that concerns also. I have responded to some auditors and suggested that they develop educational modules on the First Amendment for distribution to many agencies to make widespread change. Or to work directly with state legislators to include in employment contracts information about the First Amendment. I have received no comments. So, I know the intent is not First Amendment education, but quick money from TH-cam. Capturing cops committing bad acts on film is a good thing to happen. However, harassing people in any health care facility, post office, 29:43 school, ect, or private establishments is unacceptable. It is unsettling what is happening in our society under the blanket of the First Amendment.

They actually abuse legal loopholes until legislators get pressured to make laws restricting your freedoms more because these clout chasing doorknob lickers think they’re “helping”
@donnadarity4001 Actually, if you watch any of FAR's vids, she routinely offers a leaflet which defines and shows statutes and case law regarding public recording. Most she offers it to refuse to look at it.
It's not about just making money, it's news that are desiminated to the public.its about the freedom of rights for all the United States citizens and foreigners. Auditing is a job, just like working anywhere else. It also brings awareness to your rights, like freedom of religion, you can worship in any church, or any way you want as long as it is lawful..yes we have a lot of haters that don't like the rights that all Americans have..they hate freedom and should move out of the country anywhere they want.. they don't move because the United States is still the greatest country with freedom, laws, and the right to exercise your rights.
The most truthful point made in this video is Josh saying that as soon as TH-cam stops paying them, they’re gone. That’s absolutely correct. It has little to nothing to do with the rights of anyone, and solely to do with making money. Period. These are the low end of society, which is why you’ll never see a traditionally successful person acting like that. Their lives have been a string of failures and this is their last resort. And it has practically nothing to do with the rights of anyone!
@@ricbarker4829 the point is most TH-camrs acknowledge they’re doing it for a living and they aren’t harming anyone else by doing so. Frauditors claim they’re “activists” and only doing it to protect rights, and they harass, bully and instigate confrontations with innocent members of society. That’s the difference.
@@ricbarker4829 MSM and Google recording are doing it solely for the money. so only big corporations have the right, eh? that means that the word "republic" doesn't mean anything anymore: in a republic corporation, or any entity that is "nonhuman entity having potential to be under scrutiny of law and justice" cannot have more rights than citizen.
Ultimately this video is a good thing. Auditors count on people being unaware of the 1A auditing phenomenon to get reactions from the uninformed people whom they target.
Why do they do it? mostly for the money, and there are much more despicable (legal) ways to make money...best advice....ignore them and they will leave
@@Independent-Journalist-Union exactly the point. If someone is filming in public leave them be. If not your going to make sure that you are on camera. I don't understand why it's such a difficult thing to understand. There is no audit if you don't violate rights.
@@sativaamiarodriguezexcept... When they follow you with the camera BEFORE you even approach them. If leaving them alone is your advice to stay off camera then what?
After watching the entire thing, I like how you incorporated both sides. While I do thoroughly enjoy and believe in the first amendment and enjoy the auditors videos, there are some who genuinely believe in and are trying to educate people and bridge the gap between law enforcement and the public, while there are some that are totally out there to bait people and solely make money on youtube. There are good and bad on both sides, both from the auditors and the people being audited.
I don’t think any method matters. What matters is and or are, police do not practice laws, ID is a fix absent reason, and people are sick of it. You can bait a cop but will they take said bait and practice good policing? Some do but most take the bait. If you know what you’re doing you wouldn’t be baited. It’s an important movement and again regardless of the method. Last for years, police have enjoyed doing whatever without recourse. Now it’s the age of cameras and online accountability.

I was brought over here by Frauditor Troll and I enjoyed this documentary. What these frauditors fail to realize is that they are not out there “exercising their rights.” They’re out there for confrontation to gain views. They have no life and merely existing on this earth.

Oh really? here is a common scenario: Cop has car pulled over, watcher walks up to the passenger car window and starts talking to the driver. Cops tells them to back away which the watcher ignores and gets in a 5 minute rant about how it is his "right" to be there. Cop then needs to ignore his traffic stop to deal with watcher. When it is finally time to cuff the watcher they resist because they think they do nothing wrong. And in your eyes, this is what makes a "bad cop". Dude, please.
@@markledgerwood7843 Yes. If that cop is too cowardly to continue then maybe they're too cowardly for the job. It's a traffic stop, not a crime scene. There's no crime in an auditor reminding the occupants of the vehicle of their rights...especially that no one needs to answer any questions or a passenger's right to not identify themselves in any way. Licking boots seems to be your superpower.
Right, so you walk up and tell the passenger he doesn't need to identify. Problem is they were pulled over because the passenger was not wearing his seat belt so he does need to identify. The one good thing about citizen auditors is that young people who are dedicated to becoming police officers, or other public officials, will see the rude, unprofessional, and sometimes violent and egomaniacal actions exposed of public officials on utube, and will aspire to do better.

I wish you had pointed out the harm these guys are doing in general. Florida is creating law that keeps copwatchers farther away from traffic stops, at least one city in Colorado is creating law that keeps them out of city meetings. You can no longer record in a NYPD precinct after an auditor set up a camera and then started to yell and swear at everyone in the building for 46 minutes till arrested. I am sure there are others too. Then there are specific cases. The auditor in Washington that shot a homeless guy. The 8 auditors in LA that got arrested on multiple felonies for beating up people. IImpact Media group for beating up a 60+ year old man outside a post office. All while recording for their viewers and their "activism". If its just in the name of activism, why is it that after their youtube channel gets deleted they retire? SGV News is in California, maybe you could have asked him.
The fact the government is trying to suppress auditing does not mean the auditors are doing harm. Your first two examples is of Government not liking a legal behavior and trying to make it harder to do.
@@jeffnorris8848 Im not sure if you know this, but it is an actual crime to walk up 3 feet from a police car while they are doing a traffic stop. That is called Obstruction. You are also not allowed to go into a council meeting for the sole purpose of disrupting it, just so you can film it for your viewers clicks and views. Problem is that auditors don't seem to know the actual laws. They say things like " You can't trespass me from a public place" or " you can't solicit a trespass" when both statements are catagorically false. As for the post office auditors, they say that Poster 7 gives them the right to film there, but does it? They always ignore the part where it says except where there are signs or when told by authorized personnel that you cannot. Try reading 39 CFR 232.1 Conduct on Postal Property and US v Kokinda. Can you walk into a post office with a megaphone and sign and start preaching? What Kokinda held up and why it should be cited more is that it clearly held that a post office is a LIMITED public forum where they can limit your 1st amendment rights. Gotta try harder than that. I started auditing for the same reason as Nate.. Was our shooting a video of my local city downtown and kept on getting harassed by store owners. Posted both videos, one of the city and one of the harassment, I got 2 views on the city one and thousands on the other one.
Issue I see is that most of these people do not have decency, respect and morality towards others. I have seen them videoing: - In active shooting scenes - Possible self harm situations where persons are in distress. Police and/or public are trying to defuse the situations. - Adults and teenagers mental break down. - Three times, I recall 3 different auditors auditing unalive persons on the highway. Only after reporting the videos to youtube, they were taken down by the youtube and not the auditors themselves. They have released informaiton on officer's who have arrested them, their partner name, children, home addresses and phone numbers. If things don't go in auditor's way, they have asked their viewers to call businesses to address their concerns i.e. threaten harm. When anti-auditor channels release these auditors criminal history, court cases (which are all public records), they would do anything to bring down those videos. They are happy to have the freedom to 1A however they can not accept others 1A when FOIA is released on them.

The Public Forum Doctrine is the test for whether a First Amendment right and/or a right to privacy exists in a given location. First Amendment rights exist only in traditional public forums (sidewalks, streets, parks) and designated public forums (areas the government has specifically designated for expression whether temporarily or permanently). That a government office is open to and accessible by the public, or that a building is paid for by taxpayer dollars, does not mean it is a traditional or designated public forum. In fact, under the Public Forum Doctrine the near entirety of government offices and facilities are non-public or limited public forums under the Public Forum. This includes but is by no means limited to Post Offices, DMVs, Social Security Offices, Child Protective Services offices, DHS offices, courthouses, police departments, public libraries, or any other location. No Constitutional right to speech or to record exists in a non-public forum, nor are such automatically present in a limited public forum. The government can and does apply legally-binding and legally-enforceable policies to both non-public and limited-public forums that legally, lawfully, and Constitutionally restrict or prohibit speech, recording, and other behaviors. Further, in the event that government or agency policy may permit recording under certain circumstances in specific areas of their offices or facility that is the extension of the privilege to record, and administrative staff at that location or others up the chain can absolutely rescind that privilege AND have you trespassed for refusing to comply. You absolutely can be trespassed from a government office or facility. You absolutely can be trespassed from a traditional public forum. Local police, Sheriffs, and state patrol officers absolutely have the ability to respond to government offices harassed by frauditors and enforce local and state laws. No, Glik v. Cunniffe, the 2011 Supreme Court decision that describes the right of citizens to record public officials in the course of their duties does NOT apply in non-public and limited public forums. Glik v. Cunniffe specifically - SPECIFICALLY - describe the right of citzens to record public officials in traditional public forums. It does not grant citizens access to non-public or limited public forum, nor does it grant them the right to record public servants within same.

Better question, why is a camera such a offensive item in america? Why go the extra length to react to a camera when ignoring them, would "defeat" the purpose of recording, no reaction seems to be a dead video but people react. If people react, they're now going to be informed of their rights or force the entire city to learn that right.
No.
Great post

Well said 👏👏👏
Agree, part of the reason for the decline is that now the courts/cops aren't backed up from all the lock downs they actually have the bandwidth to properly address these criminals. So more and more of them are actually getting arrested, getting charged, convicted, and having to go on probation. The new ones don't stick around long cuz they make 0 money and realize a pocket full of trespassing charges isn't worth it. The few long timers are still just milking their dumb fans for all the dollars they can.

They can when they stalk and harass the officer. DMA and LIA have gone to officers homes.

They teach you just how far you can bother cops before you get arrested for trespassing
A cop who can be triggered into acting like a bad cop, is a bad cop!
Oh really?
here is a common scenario:
Cop has car pulled over, watcher walks up to the passenger car window and starts talking to the driver.
@@markledgerwood7843
Yes.
But you wouldn't know that cause you are just some dude with a camera. I got news for you, that's called Interference, which is indeed a crime.

- Possible self harm situations where persons are in distress. Police and/or public are trying to defuse the situations.
- Adults and teenagers mental break down.

They have released informaiton on officer's who have arrested them, their partner name, children, home addresses and phone numbers.
If things don't go in auditor's way, they have asked their viewers to call businesses to address their concerns i.e. threaten harm.

It seems self centered with most of them. My rights, my liberties, people need to respect me. But they have no respect for other people's desire not to be filmed - especially when it's just private citizens. It's obvious many are specifically looking for an extreme reaction.
There is no expectation of privacy in public. Simple Google search.
you just don't get the concept of the word "freedom". If government branch or entity have the power to dictate who has "freedom of the press" it's not freedom anymore - it's a privilidge.
@@anttikristian you missed the point of what I said entirely. I didn't reference government authority once. I was talking about mutual respect between private citizens. You're so caught up in your oppositional view of the government, that you've forgotten that other private citizens exist in the same space as you and that decency among citizens of a society is as important, if not more than, whatever the law says. There's no need to try and be condescending. Obviously I understand what freedom is. You're free to be an asshole. Because you have a right, doesn't mean it is "right".
Hum. You Tube censored my comment once agian & it was simple. "There's no privacy in public".

I so wished cops and security guards would be better informed about these clowns. When they say "you have a camera" their response "it's for security purposes" is factually correct, but, the correct argument against the frauditor would have to be "You are filming for commercial gain." All the laws they think they rely on, do not apply when dojng commercial activity.
Good video I like how you show both sides
Thank you! Much appreciated.
Well done Bravo!
Thank you!!
the thing that gets me about the channels that use the word "frauditor" is that they're piggybacking on the 1A audit community for their own social media success
their interests aren't actually served by making 1A auditors stop but rather by ginning up outrage, just the same as 1A auditors do
they probably don't start as hypocrites but as soon as their channels gain traction the temptation to become the other side of the coin must be very strong
Their not frauditior their prankster their video listed under entertainment and prank channel not news channel
I mean they comment on others insanity. It is not hypocrisy to study others. They aren't out harassing random people.
Please tell me what “public official” is being held accountable at a church, private businesses, and park? Why are frauditor channels put their videos under entertainment and not news or activism?
This "1A audit community" consists of unemployable criminals.

To anyone who's been or knows someone who has been harrassed by these clowns: You can take their videos down very easily even if you're a public employee. File a privacy complaint via TH-cam and just link the video in it. They will take it down and remove monetization. The TOS on this website does not allow making money off someone who didn't consent to being filmed and published online. After a few complaints, the frauditors will lose their channel completely.

This video had some great footage, and was pretty great from an entertainment aspect. As an audit, however, I find it to be a failure. Some stories and opinions were shared, but the author of this story never explained by what standards he was auditing nor whether or not he felt the auditors passed or failed.
Additionally, the primary anti-auditor in this piece spread a lot of pure opinion and misleading if not false information. Perhaps the author should have given a statement about these being opinions of the anti-auditor rather than simply placing them in the video with no explanation.

Non-biased and the frauditors still came out looking like the harassers and instigators that they are.
This guy did zero research for this "documentary." And he clearly loves the whopping two idiot auditors he interviewed. There IS a documentary to be made about this - by a real journalist, as a real expose. That is what is needed. What is not needed is gooey music playing underneath these two auditors. Nothing about the really awful ones, nothing about the jerk who shot the unarmed homeless person or the recently arrested iimpact and Long Beach Observer, or the gang of 'em that have been sitting in a South L.A. jail for over nine months.

Better question, why is a camera such a offensive item in america? Why go the extra length to react to a camera when ignoring them, would "defeat" the purpose of recording, no reaction seems to be a dead video but people react. If people react, they're now going to be informed of their rights or force the entire city to learn that right. A city is gonna learn quick when their officers go beyond the law and force the city to increase taxes.
