- Almost every Hanna Barbera character that you can think of in one ark with Yogi Bear as the captain.
Naturally, there was a lesson to be learned every week like pollution or gluttony.

That show is the latest to feature the classic Hanna-Barbera characters including those that weren't on this show.
I prefer this over Jellystone any day.

The characters which does not appeared in any of the 15 episodes of Yogi's Gang in 1973 are: Hokey Wolf and his sidekick, Ding-A-Ling, Snooper and Blabber, Secret Squirrel with Morocco Mole, Ruff & Ready, Touché Turtle and Dum Dum, Ricochet Rabbit and Droop-A-Long, and Pumpkin Puss with Mush Mouse. I have watch every episode of Yogi's Gang when I was a kid.
Touche technically does, as he appears in the opening/intro animation.

I think Yogi's Gang was a sequel series to a movie called Yogi's Ark Lark where his gang were searching for a perfect place to live
Actually that was the pilot it did later air as it's finale. It, Lassie and The Brady Kids series were all spun off from The Saturday Superstar Movie series. This being the only non Filmation series to be spun off.
The Ark Lark series had Noah Smith as the sole human on the Flying Ark and not Ranger Smith.

@@artytoons3447 I watched "Yogi's Ark Lark" one Saturday morning years ago. (Though it was a later rebroadcast.) The ark was originally going to be called "Smitty's Houseboat". Someone (I can't remember who) suggested calling it "Noah's Ark" instead since his first name was Noah.

" Yogi's Gang " was kind of " preachy ", but they wanted to positively influence kids. I suppose this was also due to The Coalition On Children's Television;
like Tom & Jerry being friends on the " Tom & Jerry/Grape Ape Show ". This cartoon was better than " Yogi's Space Race " - that mixed Star Wars & Disco into the plots.
Eleven years old at the time: about half of the gang were characters I had no memory of. And it was targeted at a younger audience than me.

There was several former Disney, and Warner animators who worked on this series in some form.Rod Scribner for example this was his last series he animated. He did the first two aired episodes not the pilot. Though not his last animated project overall. That was the 3rd Peanut film Race For Your Life Charlie Brown. He passed away while the film was in production. Also Dick Lundy, Charles Nicholas Iwao Takamoto from Disney.
And Vive Risto (credited as Veve Risto) from WB. He animated Porky Pig popping out of a drum and saying "Th-Th-That's all Folks!".

After a successful run on Saturday mornings, episodes of Yogi's Gang were serialized on the syndicated weekday series, Fred Flintstone and Friends in 1977-78. In the late 1980s, repeats were shown on USA Cartoon Express and later resurfaced on Nickelodeon from 1990 to 1993 as part of Nickelodeon's umbrella branding for Yogi Bear programming, Nickelodeon's Most Wanted: Yogi Bear, Cartoon Network and Boomerang.
@susanfit47 On November 13, 2023 Yogi's Gang started airing on Boomerang at 10:00 AM weekdays. (And I'm old enough to have watched it as part of "Fred Flintstone and Friends," along with the "Jeannie" Saturday morning cartoon, The Partridge Family 2200 AD, and Goober and the Ghost Chasers.)

They were going to originally be in it, apparently.
The Banana Splits did get their own Saturday Superstar Movie, "The Banana Splits in Hocus Pocus Park". I watched it one Saturday morning years ago. (Though it was a later rebroadcast.) At one point the Banana Slits jump into a billboard and turn into cartoon characters. ("I feel funny!")

Don't try to get nitpicky.
Plus Hong Kong Phooey Captain Caveman and Jabberjaw wasn't even created yet in 1973. As for Scooby, keep this in mind, CBS had the broadcast rights to him at this point. Yogis Gang was on ABC. Other then Boo and Elmo, none of the Funky Panthom cast wouldn't had worked. Since after the pilot they dropped Noah the only human with them. Sure the human characters could guest star but other then that, it wouldn't work for them as regulars. Plus while the Cattanooga Cats themselves didn't appear in the series one of their costars did in the pilot. Lambsy from the It's the Wolf segment.As for Hair and his friends probably the same reason with Scooby CBS had the broadcast rights to his show as well.
Shame characters from The cb bears, hey its the king, the banana splits, breezly and sneezly, undercover elephant and even hong kong phooey didn't appear

Unfortunately when you want to see modern quality programming you have to look back to the past, don't care for todays shows are they're boring to me and since I am 62 give me retro.

ClassicBoomerangForever2019, How about R.I.P. Boomerang with the old and classic cartoons. In 2020, Boomerang no longer show Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny with other Loney Tunes characters, and Scooby Do, Where Are You?
@@davidtosh7200and @classicboomerang forever Actually right now (November 2023) Boomerang is airing all of those cartoons and also Popeye, The Flintstones, The Jetsons (including the 1980's episodes), Top Cat, Wacky Races, Jabberjaw, the original Yogi Bear cartoons...and Yogi's Gang. (Along with some newer cartoons like Captain Planet and The Powerpuff Girls.)
