I have both and I prefer the EDP: that cardamom, creamy coconut and gardenia gives it more of a tropical luxury resort type of feel. But then again coconut is one of my favourite notes in perfumes. The EDT feels colder to me and sharper. So basically my reasons for preferring the EDP are the reasons why you don’t fancy it as much 😂😉
This is the best description of my reason for preferring the EDP OVER EDT. I love how creamy and well rounded the EDP is. Find the EDT is sharper although the smells are similar. I like the EDT but EDP is the lifer for me

Edp smells so much luxurious to me as well i love both but i am definetly looki g after some dupes since edp is discontinued.
I’ve tried both and like you, I prefer the edt. It’s so uniquely beautiful.
I remember trying out the EDP when it first came out and went WHOA. Too old for my 16yo self. I wore bright crystal for the longest time in uni.. Which btw does not smell like what it used too (must be some reformulation). I hope I’m not missing out on the EDP. It’s hard to come by in Australia but we have the EDT everywhere even in the chemists. The EDT is my lifer atm. I have worn it so much during the summer and it’s not at all overwhelming. It lasts very long on me. So glad you love it Ilythia!

I prefer the EDT. I used to own the EDP but it was a little too spicy & the gardenia was a little too much. Beautiful fragrance but the EDT was easier to wear. Love it so much.
I got my large size bottle last week as a early birthday present. Have the eau de toilette version. Love, love this fragrance!!!
Hi Ilythia- love your channel! I have the EDT too and I love it. It’s such an unexpected experience because the fresh, spicy, shampoo-y vibe I get from it totally doesn’t match the name or bottle IMO. It’s a friendly scent versus dark and mysterious. But whatever, I love it anyways.
I have been using edt since it came out. I have a lot of perfume, tried insane amount of samples and cannot live without it.
I layer the EDT with Oil Perfumery dupe - it amps up the scent, projection and longevity for me. Otherwise to weak. Sounds like it’s the EDP for me. Thanks for your review.

I haven’t smelled the EDP yet but I have a decant of the EDT and I love it. It’s a BEAST too. Sooooo long lasting. Now I’m going to have to try to sniff the EDP soon👀

Thanks for the comparison I own the EDP, again I love the deep spiciness of it but now I just ordered the EDT the one I here most about and slept on, I know I will love it as much because I love fig & violet scents. 💛

I literally open my gourmet cardamom and ginger powder just to get a nice big whiff of them, i also love black pepper in general. Its really calming and comforting for me, i dunno why or how but i am so excited for the edp on its way.
Yes, the caps on the 50 ml and 90 ml are interchangeable as they are the same size.
The EDT 90 mL has that same shape as well! And if you get the 50 mL of the EDT is in that flat weird shape. If you want to get that specific shape! 💕
I’ve owned both since they came out on and off and I think I prefer the EDP but it’s so close I can’t be sure. I just love them both so much. I will say that I do get complimented from men on both these perfumes, but the EDT seems to have an edge in that category. A guy at work also asked me what I was wearing and looked it up on his phone so he could purchase it for his girlfriend like right then haha

Been looking to try out the EDT for a while and your video the other day made me order a decant, pretty excited(: interested what you have today say about the EDP
Also like the edt best. I still smell a slight coconut note, but it seems to work better with the cold darkness of the fragrance. Kinda gothic but I really like it. Sprayed it on a jacket and it lasted days! Thank you for the comparison!!!!!

I discovered your channel recently, u have amazing videos! 👏👌❤ I have both versions Crystal noir...i adore them! Crystal noir edp i wore during winter time, it's long lasting perfume. Edt is more for spring time but i like them both as i said. Before, Vanitas edp was my favorite perfume from Versace, now it is Crystal noir 😀👌❤
I love Vanitas as well! I haven’t heard many people talking about this perfume, even when it was new.

The opening is a little spicy but the drydown is the most intoxicating creamy coconutty gardenia

I had the EDP first and I did not like it at all, so I ended up selling it. I gave the EDT a try and I love it. The EDT lasts at least 6 hours and always garners compliments. The EDT is more versatile.... Very sexy, but not so serious.
i couldn’t really tell the difference between the edt and the edp personally. I think the edt projected more though so i kept that one
I own both and I like them both in their own way. I layer the EDT over the EDP sometimes and that’s a nice combo as well. 😉👌

I did the same thing a while back and bought both to compare. I actually liked the EDP better (EDT was nice but too powdery for me) but wound up selling off both mainly due to limited space on my little shelf. So I totally agree on the packaging. The oversized crystal is ridiculously top-heavy on the 50ml. I couldn’t deal with it. The 30ml is cute for sure but I haven’t seen a 30ml EDP. If they ever re-release these in more sleek sensible packaging I’m all over it.
I repave the cap with another one so i can travel with them safely! Guess noir cap worked for them!
I think Versace perfumes tend to have a stark difference between an edp and edt. Even Eros pour femme edp and edt are completely different ! I prefer the edt in that one. Love the edt in this one too!
It’s hard to find the edp here in Australia. I used the edt. The performance is really good. A good everyday scent good for office too.
Loved this video so much! I've been wanting this fragrance for the longest time but never bit the bullet. You have totally sold me on it! I would love the 30ml bottle because it is so much more aesthetically pleasing compared to the 50ml, but I can't seem to find it in the smaller size. The 30 ml is sold out everywhere it seems, and a beauty associate at Shoppers told me it's being reformulated. Ugh!

I’ve had the EDP and I love it! Never tried the EDT but will probably get one and wear the EDT more during the day and maybe the EDP for evenings and fall/winter time.

Definitely. I agree EDT for day and EDP for night!
I have both now and EDT has great projection, but EDP stays closer to the skin.
The EDT has better staying power, one spray lasted me all day, and I could smell it all around me.
EDP I had to smell myself to know that it is there.
I prefer the EDP, but I wish it projected better.
So I will probably keep the EDT but didn't decide yet.
Also there is no coconut in EDT but i smell coconut all day🤩😍

I had both and returned the edp. There was no difference in smell to me and that was when I first started my collection 3 years ago.
I have the EDT..and I believe it's the newest version.. based on my sleuthing, I think the previous versions of both the EDT and EDP have an alcohol % of 77, where the newest versions have 78 and 67% respectively..I think..I'm just trying to figure this out because I'm not as enchanted with my (new) version of EDT as I thought I'd be. Ilythia, curious which versions you reviewed here. :)

I had the edt but decluttered it 😅 I just didn’t like it and I wanted to so bad. It smelt v mature but also kind of rotten? I’ll definitely have to try the EDP
I only have the edt and I smell coconut on it but I have not tried the edp. I don’t need to I love the edt.
I have the 30ml of the Edt and the 90ml of the EDP! The 30ml bottle is truly so cute!!! Crystal Noir is such a unique fragrance… I disliked it at first, and now I’m utterly obsessed with it! 💗

Has the Versace Crystal Noir edp in the new black and gold box been reformulated and weakened compared to the previous version in the black box?
Percentage wise, how similar are they? I wouldn't want to buy the edt if it's quite similar to the edp!
Try layer the edt with two/three sprays of alien it smells so amazing that way 🥰

I smelled them both in the store and I got a lot of creamy coconut from the edt and none from the edp?? Weird.. maybe someone switched them lol now I have to go back and smell them again😅

Is the edt one is original? I haven't seen anything like this. It says FSC on it, Vol is %67.
I had the same reaction to the bottle, the 30 & 90 ml look so good, but the short and flat 50ml is such an eyesore 😂 fragrance wise bothe edt and edp are a hit, but smell very similar on my skin

It's really strange, I've not tried the EDP but I had the EDT and I found it very coconutty, not sweet but a dry coconut. I found it to be a very dry fragrance. I wonder how the EDP actually differs
Me too! I smelled mine recently, trying to guess the notes and the only thing I could recognize was coconut. But when I looked…there’s everything but coconut in the EDT. 😂
I just bought the 50 ml, and the bottle was so weird that I came here to check whether they got me a 30 ml bottle by mistake ahaha. it looks so small, it doesn't look like there is 50 ml inside

2024, the notes are changed and does not have the same notes on the edt 😮😮😮😮😮😮
I have both EDT and EDP. I have worn both so much and feel they are about 80% the same. The easiest way for me to describe how I sense the difference is that EDP profile is fully in the EDT, but the EDT has a stronger, fresher opening that mellows out after a bit. It’s fresher, almost a bit masculine. The bright opening is the pepper and ginger that may or may not exist in the EDP.
EDP is a milder scent without the bold opening. It’s a much creamier profile.
One huge difference between my opinion and many others is that I full on smell the coconut and gardenia creaminess in both. That creamy coconut is absolutely divine and what grounds both versions of this fragrance. It’s not a beach coconut, but a warm, tropical fresh coconut. I love about both versions.
I am not sure I completely agree with Fragantica’s list of notes.
I am from Miami and I like to describe this perfume ( both versions) as being my soul. It smells like a warm Miami night; the night air, the ocean, the tropical breeze. Sexy paradise!
I have the EDP and everytime I try to wear it, the smell makes me so nauseous :-(
I was always confused about the notes of EDT & EDP but now I am even more, because on the back of my EDT bottle notes are listed and they are exactly those which ones you're mentioning when talking about the EDP. My nose is probably not so great yet (since I started my perfume journey a couple months ago), and what's interesting is that before my purchase I sniffed both of them (EDT & EDP) in the store and although back then they were pretty much undistinguishable to my nose (so I bought EDT, because it was cheaper), I realized that I remembered the smell at the store like you're describing the EDP (to my nose it was almost like an old cathedral - exactly like Mila le Blanc once described it), but when I 'blind bought' the EDT a while ago I was a little disappointed, because I liked the spice & cold more. So I definitely feel the need to compare them by myself. Nevertheless the EDT has been my signature scent since a long time now.
The tester bottles are the ones with the notes on them and I have testers of both the EDT and EDP and they have the same notes on the bottles. ...however my nose picks up a difference for sure. It's not just a stronger concentration in the EDP. The main difference is I get more citrus and pepper in the EDT and I think it's the EDP that has the fig notes as it is more creamy. I get the coconut in both but some will say they do and some only pick it up in one of them. I think it's how your nose reads the scent. I have read it's actually the Ginger molecule that can come across as Coconut to some do this might be it. The notes on Fragrantica might be mixed up with the two of them. It's a mysterious scent not only with the scent profile but the mystery of the Coconut and notes. Just read all of the comments on Fragrantica! They also only created the listing for the EDT recently so there are way more reviews under the EDP.
If they have the same notes, then the proportion of the notes is what will be different
