    Welcome to your first IndyCar race, my friend!👊🏼🏁

    You haven’t been to an IndyCar race until you’ve been to the Indy 500. There is nothing on Earth like the pageantry, tradition and speed of Indianapolis. Hopefully soon you’ll make it to the Racing Capital of the World

      100%, nothing like the 500. I've been to about everything at Indy in my life time from F1 to vintage sports cars but there is nothing that remotely has the feel of race day for the 500. I agree you really need to go if you get the chance.

      I couldn’t agree more, there is nothing on Earth better than race day at Indy. I’ve been to 75+ NASCAR races, including 7 Daytona 500s and the Brickyard in the heyday, but NOTHING compares to an Indy 500. I cry a little every time I hear Back Home Again in Indiana on race day

    The Indy 500 is an experience like none other! I went in 2017, and it's what really started my love for IndyCar. Hope you get to go someday, it's definitely worth it.

    Had a great time .. Grand Stand 3 in the Chicane with a view of the finish line. Thunderstorm delayed it for a while so it was nice to Über home after the trucks got done

    Honestly ( and I know this is late) did you like the experience even with all the delays, yellow flags, red flags, etc.?

      Overall, it was okay...from the business side of things, as media, I felt very restrictive on what I could do because on Friday, I ran in to issues of not even being allowed in the actual press conference room because security couldn't find my name on the list of assigned deadline tables. (I was simply extra media that was placed in to overflow rooms) And then in the pits, things were even more restrictive there because they wouldn't let any media near the pits during the race, and there was no set post-race interview area for media like there is for NASCAR.
      So, was it a neat experience? Yes, and I'm thankful to IndyCar for allowing us the opportunity, but...I'm glad it was just something close to home because I couldn't see myself going far away to cover IndyCar like I do NASCAR.
      My biggest regret was taking a day off work from my full-time job, but I didn't know what to expect.
      With all of that being said, I wish everyone the best with the Music City Grand Prix, but I will likely not be applying for credential access this year, as my time would be better suited elsewhere this year.

    As someone who watched a street race in NYCEprix for Formula E four times (doubleheaders mind you) I agree that being in same grandstand spot while we had a screen it feels like if you need vantage point to see overtaking or close racing you might be situated there. There was standing only sections in some of fan zone areas they set up but you hope there is a screen because if there isnt then you might not know whats going on. I can see for those wondering about nascar street race some may not like the idea of seeing the section and screen without moving around to different spots and thats something to adjusted oppose to ovals where you see pretty much everything. I have criteria in which if my section (which was the hairpin overlooking the Manhattan skyline) has good possible overtaking and close action then im okay with it. As for Nashville GP well it look like the elimination chamber match or hell in cell with amount of hard racing and crashes yet the stats show more overtaking in the race its so bizarre

    If you think IndyCar is great, step-up and attend a FORMULA ONE race. Nothing else compares.

    Without the bias towards nascar, was there anything different or something Indycar did better as far is the Midway, fan zones, and fan engagement? I've never been to an Indycar race before. I'd like to attend one

    Was that a standard paddock pass or something extra to get on pit lane?

    • @DannyBTalks
      @DannyBTalks  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure. We had media passes but weren’t permitted to be in the pits during the race, which shocked me. At NASCAR, that’s usually one of the only passes that can let you stay there during the race.
