One thing that has helped me is to set "time goals" versus an actual goal to finish something. If i have a goal to do something, but my health or unforseen obstacles arise, I can get discouraged if i dont finish the project. An example might be to "spend 10 minutes wiping down the front of the cabinets" instead of "wipe down all the kitchen cabinets". I still get to the finish line, but it might be over several time slots. But, I've met my goal of doing it for a few minutes.
I do the same! I often find it hard to predict how much time a project or task will take, so instead of saying ‚finish project by June‘, I‘ll say ‚work on project for two hours a day‘
As the opposite of a type A personality planning and goal setting is very intimidating to me but I have decided to do so this year. Two days in and I’m working hard to stick to it 😊 I appreciate you tips! Blessings on you and the new baby!
You mentioned that starting projects is easier than finishing. Same here! I found however that is I take that one project and break it into mini projects, I mentally and physically am able to “finish” so much more. I also learned how to “share” the goal burdens. Like your husband does the building and you plan, etc. I took a good look at my goals and determined if anyone can help share the burden of the goal. We wanted to get the yard ready for winter. My son loves trimming trees and bushes-he shared the goal with me.
I love how gentle you are on yourself! It's so easy to throw in the towel and be upset/down on oneself if a goal isn't met, but the way you approach it is really great!
I’m so glad you liked it. ❤️ I’m definitely more gentle on myself than I’ve ever been because I’ve experienced the consequences of doing the opposite. Definitely not worth it!
Really enjoyed the video! Downloaded the planner and hopefully will work on tonight. One thing I'd love is more videos on how you came up with your schedule and more home management. Have a wonderful new year!
Gosh I admire your structure! I absolutely THRIVE when my life is organized and structured, but with ADHD it's very difficult for me to actually get there. My family is very messy and doesn't put good effort into chores, so I think a good umbrella goal for me this year, especially since I'm pregnant with #4, is to learn how to manage my family better. I also LOVE your idea of learning a new skill each month and definitely will be implementing that into my 2024 resolutions!
I’m so glad you found this helpful! I have several videos on home organization and how we manage schedules/chores. Hopefully you can find some inspiration there as well. ❤️
I do this but I'm an engineer and prefer to use Excel spreadsheets. I only have one soon to be one year old. You truly amaze me. I've watched more recent videos first and so impressed by how much you can do with a baby.
This was great. I got several great ideas. I'm working on decluttering starting Jan 2. I've got motivation from you. I too shall set some goals on paper. Can't wait to meet baby boy Stacy. Praying safe delivery healthy baby and speedy recovery. I hope you can continue videos like this , getting organized and food management and managing the home and business. Love your videos. Ty Stacy.
I loved the part where you allow the professional help from others. Something I have a huge struggle with. My husband and I only have 1 toddler he works all day and I'm stay at home mom who likes things being done a particular way. Like I don't like how cleaners clean for example and I like to clean myself. I feel greatly overwhelmed since becoming first time mom and watching your video helps ease up a little bit
Not home related but I'm really hoping to get back into running this year. I loved running track during my school years, but it's so hard to get back into running once you quit lol. Planning to put in the work to get my endurance back up.

That's a great idea! My life can be very unpredictable so that technique could be really helpful. Thanks for sharing!

Yes! I love that idea of “sharing the burden.” Many hands make work light. ❤️

I would love a tutorial on how you manage your food inventory
Ok, I can do that!

Thank you! And yes, my husband prefers Xcel too!
I’m not sure how I stumbled on your channel, but I’m so glad I did! I’ll be thinking about my goals for the upcoming year.
Yay, I’m so glad you found me! 👏

Well at least you know you are capable! 😅 I have never run a mile in my life. PE was not my thing. 😜
