This is my first year coaching HS throws. I volunteered every once in a while but this is the first time I've had an entire squad to coach. It has been eye opening. I think I learn something new about coaching every single day and I think I fall more in love with it every day. It helps to have a pretty successful background in the sport but even then I get overwhelmed sometimes. I cannot imagine coaching without having any background knowledge around the shot. I noticed your practices seem a lot like mine and its pretty funny to see how similar it all is.
As a new HS assistant coach and older retired man who has never thrown the shot put, I found the video very informative. I particularly like the approach of keeping everyone active and ways for doing so, the amount of throws per practice guidance as well as the technical do's & don'ts. Thanks so much for sharing your your knowledge in this video. Bill D. 👍👍
Thank you for this. I have tried to get as much technical knowledge as possible from ye olde youtube, but knowing how to manage the athletes and make the most of our time together is very valuable information. Merci.
Thank you for the video! I'm coaching Throws for the first time this Spring (I'm a vaulter by nature but threw javelin in college too) so this video was VERY helpful! Thank you!
Hi I'm turning 17 this august . I tried shotput for first time in my life just for fun I did nearly 9 and half metre should I do this sport or not?????
Take the mask first of all! Then explain how to keep their hips under them & how to transfer the energy from your leg through the hips with knees slightly bent & up through your arm.

Thank you for posting.
Sir, could you please provide 1 month training plan chart for U-14,U-16 athletes for throwing events?
Very informative… 👍
Good stuff. I manage practices similarly and Yes, an empty ring is a sin.
Great video.
Hi, I’m a high school junior who currently throws 33- 35 feet do you thinks it possible to throw close to 50 feet by the end of my senior year?
Depends on what your limiting factor is. Technique? Strength? With some hard work I bet you could have gotten in the 40s for sure. I hope you did!

*Sir who are left hand thrower in that group ?*
*Sir can u say their height and their age ?*
It would be so great if you could redo these without the mask!

Wearing a mask while exercising is disturbing.
