Wonderful interpretation with clear articulation. Played in a neo-baroque registration the organ sounds really good. From the video we see the organ has many registers available that could be used in a dramatic romantic style of performing Bach favored by some organists. This performance clearly illustrates the structure of the counterpoint. In Bach's era console assistants and bellow pumper folks would be needed for an organ performance since there was no electricity. Remarkable to realize how the very large House of JS Bach produced so much music during the early 18th century. Thank you for sharing this performance, appreciated!

Großartig musiziert, allerdings hat mitten im Präludium eine Werbung 'reingehauen, richtig grausam, totale Zerstörung

@@kayjohannsen8959 danke, dann werde ich mir das nochmal ungestört zu Gemüte führen. Mich verbindet einiges mit diesem Werk, weil mein Vater ein großer Bachliebhaber war, was sich auch auf mich übertragen hat und ich höre mir gerne verschiedene Interpretationen davon an. Ihre hat mir besonders zugesagt. Unsere Familie war gut befreundet mit Almut Rössler, von der ich auch eine Aufnahme habe. Wir haben unzählige Male zusammen musiziert. Ich habe auch in Ihrem Chor gesungen. Lang ist's her mittlerweile.
@@Woriviol Das ist interessant! Frau Rössler ist mir natürlich ein Begriff, auch wenn ich sie selbst nie live gehört habe.
@@kayjohannsen8959 Ja sie war schon eine großartige Künstlerin und Persönlichkeit mit einem wundervollen Sinn für Humor. Wir haben mit ihr die großen Werke von Bach aufgeführt, Johannes und Matthäus Passion, H-moll Messe, aber auch Werke von Frank Martin "in terra pax" oder Lili Boulanger. Einige Chorreisen nach Frankreich und in die Schweiz. Das war schon wirklich großartig. Ich habe als Konzertmeister spielen dürfen. Sie hat mir auch oft die Gelegenheit geboten, solistisch zu spielen innerhalb von Konzerten oder Gottesdiensten. Ich bin ihr sehr dankbar, sie hat mich als Musiker maßgeblich mitgeprägt.

Gli organi meccanici nuovi dove ho suonato io , nessuno ha tasti bianchi e neri, tutt'al più hanno colore del legno o tasti neri e tasti bianchi le note alterate.

Perfectempo! Energetic. How unfortunate all played on one manual. No wonderful contrast and relief. Dislike the way the fugue notes are slurred. I play them slightly detached. How disappointing no pedal trills. Annoying how the pedal notes are detached and hit quickly (not played at full value). Had to listen to Helmut Walcha as an antidote.
Robert Gift, I am sorry for my inadequate English. Quote: "How unfortunate all played on one manual." Unfortunate? No, this is the only correct way to play this composition. We can not jump between the manuals in a composition like this, but why not? Because it is technical impossible to start and finish a new frase on the main tonic. The well known Fantasia BWV 542 has several rests in all parts make it possible to change manuals and still keep the tonic system intact.
Sehr schön und mit ein großes Gefühl gespielt. Man sieht das der Organist ganz IN die Musik ist, er braucht sogar keine Noten mehr! Das einzige was mir (immer) stört sind die Tiefe Tönen vom 32' Unter großes FS ist die Verbindung weg und klingt es für mich nicht mehr richtig sicher wenn es was zu laut intoniert ist.
