How I Know When to Buy a Stock (Trading Strategy Tips)

- If you want to make money in the stock market, you need a quality trading strategy. A huge part of the trading strategy is knowing when you should buy the stock. Buying a stock at the wrong time quickly puts your chances of making money on the trade in doubt. When it comes to beginner stock traders and those just getting started, they sometimes over-complicate the strategy and I want to provide a couple basic tips to help make this more clear. The tricky part about knowing when to buy a stock is that it goes against how our brains are wired. This is why so many new traders struggle with this idea and end up losing money with their stocks they buy. If you want to learn how to be a successful trader, you need to learn how to fight off the mental traps your brain will set for you. Let me show you what I mean.

This is definitely one of the best strategies that works for trading or building a long term position. I only buy large caps on red days/weeks. If I can get AAPL, WMT, MSFT at a 3-5% discount while on a uptrend or even near longer term support I buy all I can

watched the video, heard what u said and i agree not to buy a stock while its on the rise. tho im confused on what do to once its does take that dip down. just because it dropped for a second i still don't know what its going to do. could keep going down or go right back up. also shouldnt you look back a few minutes or so to see maybe the over all trend to get a better idea of what might happen. also if u do take a loss, instead of cutting your losses couldnt you hold it? maybe for the day or a day or two? or even longer? to at least not take as big or a loss or even make your money back?

I'm really confused here, so it's best to buy stock when it's going down to lower the risk of losing money right? coz if you buy it when it kept going up, there's a risk that it will start to go down and would not go up in a certain time. But, what if when we bought it when it's going down or sideways and it's still going down? Wouldn't we still be losing money just with a lower risk?
Yup, but "lower risk" is the key.

what’s a stop loss ?
A risk management tool.
what if i were to buy at the low point before it starts going up, and then after it skyrockets i get out when it shows signs of pulling back?
Then you'd make money!
depends. doesn't matter, when you attack "Low or High". as long as you know your risk.

I have been trading on plus500 for a bit to learn trading, I win a lot, more time then I loose, but one thing I don’t understand is when I want to buy at a certain rate, it doesn’t let me? as in you buy whereveee you want too and it doesn’t allow me to do that, e.g a market is 1.0808 it forces my “opening rate” to 1.0820 if you get what I mean? It’s hard to explain, what do u think? Thanks boss
Basically when I buy as well I start off in the minus... I could be minus £-100 and it has to make it to profit but it takes forever

You should start with what you have. Even if it's a dollar... Put it in the brokerage account and save to purchase what you want.... Or better yet, fractional shares

I like to use RSI(5). I wait for a full pull back and I identify this by a full pullback on RSI(5) on the 1M chart. My rule is that I expect 2-3 pump ups in a typical Trend move, so first 2-3 pull backs I take after the pull backs. I use other indicators to tell me if the stock is about to reverse.

When the market opens, how do you decide or what helps you decide where to place an order on any given share, as you don't know if it will open up or down. If that makes sense.
I use the following criteria when deciding to enter a trade on the open - 1. has it broken the pre-market high? 2. Is it trading above VWAP? 3. Did it gap up on the open from the previous day's close? There are more considerations but this is a good starting point. And as Clay said wait for the pullback and then get confirmation it is starting to move up again.

I won back to back 2 times on chasing trades with PUTTING THE MARKET ORDERS ONLY and I was highly confident that I can play a Blind and win now
But then there’s not everyday trending so I got 1 Pullback which led to SL
Then another
Then another
Back to back 5 Pull Back and 2 of them are reversals which was became loss of the year of me
So even with 2 great profits of 600$ in the start I ended up the month in negative 1000$
Yes I did miss on 3 chasing horses but I learned the big habit of letting it GO and wait for the BEST 😎

Thank you for this validation. I have seen this exact scenerio in my trading and you are correct. I just recently figured this out on my own. This video is validating my realization. Fortunately, it hasn't costed me ton of money, but it has costed me alot of time. We all know time is money, so it has been costing me nevertheless.
