To be honest I was shocked about the example and shorting the amount of almost 100k. I was always very cautious when shorting, as the losses can go into extremes in worst case. Your video is showing a very nice way to short more safely and lock in profits. thank you so much👍🤗
Dear Clay, can you do a video on intelligent/practical ways to remove profit from a trading account? I recently grew a day trading account from 1.5k to 35k during the lockdown, but am not sure when to take out money and how much to take out. I don't need the money currently, so it would just sit in my bank account, but am really scared to lose it all, because I have blown up an account in the past. On the other hand, I also want to keep money in the account so I can trade with more size to have the potential to keep growing. Please share your wisdom on this topic, because nobody talks about it at all.
First off, respect to you making those gains, congrats! However when I looked into it more if you bought 500 shares at $184.70 that means you invested $92,350 which is something he didn’t mention in the video to only make $460.69 like I said beforehand congrats on making that money but that’s one thing you don’t discuss and I understand money can be personal but I feel like you may be giving people false hope in this regard. Other than that great execution on the video and good, clear, concrete information. Thank you for making this video for you have taught me a lot and have a good rest of your day!
Thanks Clay these chalk board videos are my favorite. Maybe we could get one video every now and then with the liquid chalk markers like before? Great content bro.
Hi, Clay! First I appreciate you for this video. I'm a beginner and your idea from this video was like a revelation for me. I used it and it helped me to earn real money! Next question for me is HOW TO CHOOSE right stocks for shorting?.....

Today was my first day wielding $50k in buying power, and making real gains and losses. Clay speaks the truth... the weight of real money WILL trigger emotions, which WILL cause mistakes. I told myself I’d be cool, but emotions can always come and get you. I had to take a break at one point in the morning after I caught myself chasing... and I was only chasing because I was so much more uncomfortable losing real money than when I was paper trading. Listen to the man - TAKE PROFITS ONCE THEY APPEAR!
Your explanations are very easy to understand. Lately the problem I'm having is executing. I've tried waiting for confirmation but then it seems like its almost too long of a wait. I've tried using different time frames, for instance looking at the same ticker symbol on the 1 day 1 min and on the 1 day 5 min. My risk management has been night and day better but executing good trades has been an EXTREME challenge lately.
ClayTrader definitely not but nothing of value is easy. I’ve spent the last 6 months 5-8 hrs a day studying and practicing. Today was a much better day. Smaller position sizes, $6,000 at most. Much more patient. All green trades for a 2% gain. Took profits sooner and used a trailing stop for the first time. Pleased with today. Again, thank you for the content..
thank you for awesome strategy clay trader...i am so glad that came up across your video😊😉...a small question how much capital did you use for that 500 shares account???!!!
All the numbers are on the screen to do the math. One thing to remember is this: claytrader.com/videos/margin-and-leverage-a-day-traders-tool-to-make-easy-money/
I personally find risk mitigation a fun topic bc if your good at not loosing money then all you have to do is keep trading until you have one winning trade if I make ten trades and only one becomes profit well I'm positive for my set of trades I took now I just have to worry about finding perfect set ups.
Hey clay! Thanks for videos . I was wondering when you short or even when you go long. How much of that initial money comes out of your account 500 shares x price of stock (500 x 187.50) ? Could you help or even better make a video Thanks again

Sir, great video thank you. Just starting out on the journey. Mountains to learn. It would he great if you got Into a bit of detail of the why's and how's of how you managed your risk in this way. What was your position etc. Thank you.
Interesting approach. I‘m doing the opposite. I start low and add to the trade when it’s going into my direction. I move prior positions to b/e to minimize risk. Cut losers early and add to winning while maintaining minimum risk. The problem I see with your approach is that you‘ll loose a lot because of the size you start with.
And the problem with yours is you assume it is a winner, until you add and it snaps back against you. Does not mean you are wrong to do what you do, but it does mean ALL strategies have their flaws.
@@claytrader That’s correct but I only use 1R all the time. If there is a momentum, I‘ll get more than you since you reduce and run it only with a fraction of your original size. I won’t use your risk management. The chances to win big are not there; only peace of mind. But I can have that without trading, too. Trading is mind-chaking.
@@muelli again, all strategies have pros and cons... that's my point. I'm glad it works for you, but to say you have it all figured out would be false. I can just as easily knit-pick your management choices also.

thanks for the tip, but I just need to learn what I am looking at, when I saw your live trading I had no idea what was going on. Well, I had somewhat of an idea, if you possibly could, may you show me if you have a video on it all the tips and little details on trading? And when trading does this go for all types or brokers, like Webull? Because thats the brokerage I am with. Also the money that you make, where does it go to? Do you set up your bank account in that brokerage? Also how do you get more shares, because as you showed in the video when you were buying/ trading that stock that you were in you lost 400 shares and made over $400, how do you get more shares and where do I get them? Also do you have any other tips on how to minimize risks? I know this is a lot of questions but I am really trying to understand on how the life of a day trader works. Trying to escape the matrix if you know what I mean. Keep up the good content and cant wait to become a day trader like you.

Yep
Very helpful, enjoy watching all ur videos
Glad you like them!
thanks for the tip, but I just need to learn what I am looking at, when I saw your live trading I had no idea what was going on.
