Really hope you enjoy this video! We have more standard undefeated decks coming at you this week. Tons of variety, and some more finance shenanigans. Let me know what you think! :)
@TheManaSource Wedge, I don't ever post on videos, but I just wanted to express to you that I really missed you whenever you were going through your surgery and I am incredibly happy that you seem to be making a full recovery. Keep doing what you're doing man, and I'll be a loyal watcher for as long as you're doing it.
I'm so glad we didn't loose him. He's so passionate and loves the hobby so much it's infectious. Beyond Arena I don't even play but I watch wedge's video anyway.
I have to point out Divine Visitation. Enchantment for 3WW anytime a Token would enter the battlefield under your control, it becomes a 4/4 Angel instead. I use 2 in my Selesnia Tokens and mid to late game, people cant deal with March dropping 8+ 4/4's and then following it up with another next turn. With Lyra on the field you gain life for days and a Resplendent Angel or 3 get a good return when any of your 5/5's hit
history is not a must i went 5-0 tonight with 0 in my deck i chose to run 4 knight of autum in place of them and it was amazing every time, very happy i was not drawing history in place of what the knight of autumns were doing for me.
Thank GOD you're so quick on the draw when it comes to brewing. I was looking at all the Convoke being thrown around in Selesnya and thinking, "Man, if only *any* of these creatures that summon tokens dropped for less than 4 mana, I could finally get my Impervious Greatworm out in no time!" Token flood decks are the style of play I have the most fun with, and I just couldn't see how to make a good one with Guilds without betraying my guild. The whole guild allegiance aspect of Ravnica's lore is what brought me into the game in the first place, and while, sure, I'll occasionally play a Boros or Azorius (or even...ugh...Dimir) niche deck for fun, I was getting honestly a little depressed upon having the realization that playing a Golgari Undergrowth deck might be my best bet for killer token synergy. I knew I'd have to spec back into previous expansions (I've been out of the game for a while) to make Selesnya tokens work, but after dropping $100 on a box of guilds I had no willpower to go rooting through old card lists to see which would fit best. You are a godsend.
Nice video, I have a couple recommendations for the deck. First, I suggest adding 1 or 2 Ajani’s welcome cards. It costs 1 white mana and every time a creature enters the battlefield under your control, you gain a life. Also Ajani’s pridemate, costs 1 white and 1 colorless as a 2/2 with “whenever you gain life, put a +1+1 counter on him”. Lastly, I suggest adding a divine visitation, every time you gain any kind of token, that token is a 4/4 angel token with flying and vigilance instead
The best upgrade for the G/W Selesnya stompy Elves you published before. I'm definitely getting this one, since I already have the mana base and most of the other cards from the Selesnya Elves. Thanks! I had a blast at Grand Prix Mexico with the Elves!
At first I was wondering how Settle the Wreckage is stopped by Shalaili or however you spell her name, and then I re-read the card and realized it targets the player. You're a genius!
I’m not surprised conclave tribunal is there. It’s a good card. I managed to pick up 10+ of that card plus a lot of other cards ever since prerelease for free at my lgs. Creeping chill is still the hardest uncommon for me to pick up.
I actually had a nice match up against a WG deck this past week. I was playing gruul dinos. With forerunner of the empire every dino i played board wiped for 1 damage so just getting two down would almost always clear the board
Golden Demise, Urza's Ruinous Blast, River's Rebuke, Phyrexian Scriptures, Star of Extinction... all of those you're vulnerable to with this deck, no point in using Settle the Wreckage with better options like that, sure you could keep some in sideboard to deal with other token type decks but even a simple counterspell like Essence Scatter will stop the hexproof before it starts so... yeah. It seems like a nice build but from the people I've ran into running decks like this on arena they take a bit to get running, with patience and the right deck they can't keep up let alone even be able to set up their engine.
I'm surprised there's no Divine Visitation, even if only a 1 of. Making all of your 1/1 lifelink 4/4 flying/vigilance seems quite broken to me if you hit a stall.
I’m surprised you aren’t running divine visitation, every token enters as a 4/4 flyer, and if you have Lyra on the board they are 5/5 with flying and lifelink
Yeah I was playing four of when I realized it's too easy to remove. Justice Strike, Deafening Clarion, Shock.. I worked around it playing 3x Shalai, but tbh I went for 3x Loxodon for better synergy, value and cost.
I was going to ask where Visitation was. I've yet to play with it, but I can imagine it being insane. The amount of 1/1 tokens you can get is already loads, imagine them being 4/4 angels! Though it would work very well with Lyra. I plan on proxying Visitation to go into my Selesnya Commander deck to see how it runs.
@@tsuki7064 think about it this way, which one is more likely to get you out of a bad situation? Divine visitation helps you 'win harder' and Lyra just helps you win. Lyra is almost always useful, visitation is only useful when you are deploying tokens, a situation in which you are probably already well off.
What about shanna sisay's legacy ? She looks insane in this deck. I would do -4 Thorn Lieutenant +4 Shanna sisay's legacy :) Or at least put 2 of each. What do you think?
why not playing some fatty worms like siege wurm or the big 1616 he imade for token covoke decks i lvoe to slamming out 1616 on the end semms solid and more of a then lyra dawnbriger the card is personally meh without the angle transformation i mean what is morefretening a 16 16 indestructble or a an angle remember 20 lfe its like baby galta apropo i would add in galta cause he has pseudo convoke
It lacks evasion, so it gets chump blocked for days, whereas Lyra will at least gain you 5 life if it blocks or is blocked, which can really help surviving against aggressive decks, and have both flying and first strike
Selesnya Tokens dies to Chainwhirler. Mono Red is the most prevalent deck right now, at least until midrange and control decks can tune their lists. I'd wait on this deck until the meta settles.
Somewhere, watching in the shadows, a certain Goblin is swinging his chains and celebrating because of all the little tokens he gets to sweep up. Because as Tokens rise, so too does his pricetag.
Really hope you enjoy this video!

Abzan knights!!! Its crazy I have it on mtg arena and been wrecking on it
I really like the short tactics breakdown before the sideboard section, would like to see such a category for the sideboard options.

I'm not much of a Standard player, but I have to say it's so nice to see you back with a bunch of new videos Wedge!
Video: good. Your sweatshirt: meh.
Loving the sideboard explanation
why not run the 5 drop that makes your tokens become 4/4 angles with vigilance??
That's what I thought just put in one divine vistation in the side board for mirror. Just in case they go wide on block too
How does shalai protect against settle the wreckage?
Settle says, "target player" and Shalai gives YOU hexproof, so settle can't target you
David Orians thanks for explaining!
@@baalercyti9427 You're welcome! Glad to have helped.
Token aggro for the win! Great video Wedge!
At first I was wondering how Settle the Wreckage is stopped by Shalaili or however you spell her name, and then I re-read the card and realized it targets the player. You're a genius!
Yeah. this is what I'm talking about!

Your production values! They grew! And they look really nice.
Aw yeah, Selesnya Tokens is back. I may have to try this one out!
This deck sounds super fun. Gonna make it in MTGA, but it will take me a while given how many rare and mythic cards are in it.
I actually had a nice match up against a WG deck this past week. I was playing gruul dinos. With forerunner of the empire every dino i played board wiped for 1 damage so just getting two down would almost always clear the board
Hey what about divine visitation, will this improve the deck?
One of the most common strats I've come across on Arena is Golgari tokens with the centerpiece of Poison-tip Archer. It's annoying to deal with.
Helm of the Hosts on Trostani Discordant combo? Works with Emmara too.
I drafted GW tokens and won so I'm definitely going into the new format with Emmara.
I think it lacks spot removal. Only a playset of Conclave Tribunals is not enough for the Boros decks...
Looks like it was a good call to preorder a couple of playsets of March, lol.
Quick question: how does Shalai stop settles
Golden Demise, Urza's Ruinous Blast, River's Rebuke, Phyrexian Scriptures, Star of Extinction... all of those you're vulnerable to with this deck, no point in using Settle the Wreckage with better options like that, sure you could keep some in sideboard to deal with other token type decks but even a simple counterspell like Essence Scatter will stop the hexproof before it starts so... yeah. How does this deck hold up against multiple ritual of soots?
I'm surprised there's no Divine Visitation, even if only a 1 of. Making all of your 1/1 lifelink 4/4 flying/vigilance seems quite broken to me if you hit a stall.
Goblin Chainwhirler, Game Over.
Awesome thumbnails!
I really wish Divine Descent had made it in. Making two 4/4 angels for 1G is something that can't be matched.
Looks good man!
what about boros angels. that looks really good and scary
Hey Wedge, Love ur videos
Wedge please do a Golgari zombies deck tech!!!
No divinity visitation?
So... Would you be interested in brewing some Nayangels?
I’m surprised you aren’t running divine visitation, every token enters as a 4/4 flyer, and if you have Lyra on the board they are 5/5 with flying and lifelink
I’m surprised you didn’t include tendershoot🤨

Shalai protects against Settle the wreckage ??
Settle targets a player. She gives the player hexlproof. I paused on that too.
Wedge..... Your evaluation if cards is unrivalled!!!
No divine visitation?
Isnt divine visitation better than lyra most of the time?
I was going to ask where Visitation was. I've yet to play with it, but I can imagine it being insane. The amount of 1/1 tokens you can get is already loads, imagine them being 4/4 angels! Though it would work very well with Lyra.

Why not both ? If i saproling migration for 2 mana for 2 5/5 angels with flying vigilance and lifelink , then I’d be pretty happy
@@bbivibunk3723 i think lyra is more of a side card against aggro and burn
Yeah i was thinking a divine visitation could make this deck get out of hand quickly
@@tsuki7064 think about it this way, which one is more likely to get you out of a bad situation? Divine visitation helps you 'win harder' and Lyra just helps you win. that was more than a token effort.
Ty wedge.
bruh like all the channels are talking about this deck, Im even running it in MTG Arena, this is insane
Chainwhirler has been slacking.
What about shanna sisay's legacy ? She looks insane in this deck. I would do -4 Thorn Lieutenant +4 Shanna sisay's legacy :) Or at least put 2 of each. What do you think?
How come you never show any game play? I kinda wanna see some grixis
No Divine Visitation? weird
This deck makes me hope that they will reprint impact tremors.
No Shana? No Huatli? NO SONG OF FREYALISE?
Um, Shalai doesn't protect against Settle the wreckage. Settle doesn't target, so your whole team gets wiped
GUILD PHILOSOPHY FOR RETURN TO RAVNICA

yes the worrm is not so good but ghalta is too good to pass you have a token deck he will be one turn 3 on the field
@@dragullongblackfang8073 actually, ghalta checks cmc of creatures. Tokens have no cmc, so ghalta is worse in this deck than most others.
i thought it was power
Ghalta, Primal Hunger costs Variable Colorless less to cast, where X is the total power of creatures you control.
you were saying
DIMIR COLOR PIE STUDY PLEEEEEEEEEASE
Selesnya Tokens dies to Chainwhirler. Mono Red is the most prevalent deck right now, at least until midrange and control decks can tune their lists. I'd wait on this deck until the meta settles.
Carnage tyrant is the auto include over the lyra control cant stop it
Lyra is mostly there to gain life against aggro, I'm fairly sure that Shalai already takes care of control for the most part
this deck misses carddraw. Selesnia wide Elf Deck wins against this deck easy.
@dennis steubing link me the list for this of which you speak of.
Noice

@@darkairlord yeah, i thought it would. oh well, not the first time i've been wrong
