Nearly 50 years after I first listened, mesmerized, to "Mandy" on my transistor radio, Barry can still move me. This performance is yet futher evidence of something I've said many times: Very few vocalists, of any era, any genre, can deliver a song like Barry Manilow.
This is my favorite performance and video. I’m kinda addicted to it! I think this is Barry at his best age. He’s so gorgeous, and it’s a lovely song.

This arrangement is so beautiful and moving.
Every word from that beautiful voice tells my story. 59 years ago love-at-first-sight, but not the right time as he was my English teacher overseas and I was his starry-eyed student. A taboo thought. We parted for distant shores. Now at ages 86 & 74 we've caught up with each other, reconnected and plan to live the rest of our lives together because, as the song says, we belong with each other. Thank you.

This Barry Manilow song touched my heart when it first came out and still does every time I listen to it. I had never seen this live performance of it. Sometimes goodbyes are not forever. The words are poetic, and wise, and speak to the foreverness when two hearts and two souls become one. Still believe, and never lose hope. Two hearts know their way back home.

Back again after watching this video again. I wish he had done more of the single spotlight beautifully simple setting. At that time too, as he is at his best, like the prime of his life, voice, confidence and just looking gorgeous.
