Young man...today my Pastor came back to preach after suffering a stroke on New Year's Eve. As I helped him put on his tie it reminded me of how I used to take care of my Dad who was in a wheelchair for my whole life. He also had a stroke back in 1995, and at 13yrs old I became his caretaker up until he passed in 2010 when I was 26. I used to dress him for church, and tie his tie every Sunday morning, I relived that this morning helping my Pastor. He was on a trip to visit his siblings and passed away there. So we never got to say goodbye to him. It still hurts after 12 years. I miss him so much.

Young man...today my Pastor came back to preach after suffering a stroke on New Year's Eve. As I helped him put on his tie it reminded me of how I used to take care of my Dad who was in a wheelchair for my whole life. He also had a stroke back in 1995, and at 13yrs old I became his caretaker up until he passed in 2010 when I was 26. I used to dress him for church, and tie his tie every Sunday morning, I relived that this morning helping my Pastor. Then I saw your audition for American Idol on IG and you had me teary eyed as I remembered my dad. I know that your father is very proud of you right now

As someone who was privileged enough to hold my grandmother while she took her last breath and 9 years later hold my mother's hand while she died, this song is impactful. My mother couldn't speak, but when I told her I loved her tears rolled down her cheeks and she passed. The single most haunting and simultaneously beautiful thing I've seen in my life. This was uploaded over two years ago while his father was alive. The audition was three months after his father died. Therefore the song had become much more meaningful and more emotionally when singing
