Awesome video and I can’t wait to see more from this new series. I knew Herschend was a very different company from the other theme park chains out there and this video pretty much solidified that, I can’t wait to see what they do next. I really want to go to Dollywood or Silver Dollar City as both parks look amazing, but I have had the opportunity to visit one Herschend Attraction with the Adventure Aquarium in New Jersey. While the aquarium didn’t blow me away, it was very well maintained and had some cool and unique exhibits such as the hippo exhibit, a nicely themed Amazon exhibit, and a Shark bridge going over the shark tank which was really cool.
As someone who currently works for Herchend, and has for many years, I absolutely loved this video. Hit all the right notes and was extremely informative. I love working for Herchend.
I love this series idea! AlthoughI may be already biased since Herschend is my favorite theme park chain. Maybe do SeaWorld next . . . since it kind of continues the Joel Manby saga started in this video.
COASTER BOT Especially since I would think A LOT of folks are Completely unaware there used to be Busch Gardens mini-parks in both Los Angeles and Houston, I believe...
I knew Pete Herschend about 1979 when I was a local newspaper reporter. Brilliant guy. Later, I worked for Silver Dollar City -- one of the best managed places I've ever worked for.
I had no idea that the Herschend family managed aquariums. The Adventure Aquarium mentioned in the video is local to me, in Camden, New Jersey, and I've been there several time. The aquarium first opened as the New Jersey State Aquarium, which focused on the sea life found in New Jersey, which was...not a great business plan for an attraction. Since it reopened as Adventure Aquarium, it's done much better. The rebranding happened shortly before Herschend took over, but it's been drawing pretty steady crowds ever since.
Another great Coaster Bot video. Would absolutely love to visit SDC and Dollywood. Both look like great all round experiences. Lots of info, as we’ve come to expect. You will always learn something interesting from a Coaster Bot video.
I’m a Branson buff and you even included a few quips I was unaware of. Like Herschend owned that theatre which is now the boardwalk aquarium thing. I was also unaware of their property management deals. Very interesting. Nice video and good content
I knew nothing about Herschend Family Entertainment until this video. I really learned a lot! Silver Dollar City and Dollywood are high on my bucket list parks to visit and I'm hoping to get to them next year. :)
Never been to Silver Dollar City but I’d love to go someday!! As a Tennesseean, DollyWood is my home park and it’s so beautiful and awesome ❤!! I look forward to going back to see and ride everything again and to ride Big Bear Mountain for the first time 😀❤️!!
You could have added that Dolly Parton is a local of Sevier County TN, which is where Dollywood is located. But that is me being very nit picky and this was excellently done.
Just a clarification. Celebration City didn't use a pay per ride structure. Went there many times growing up. Family would get a SDC/Celebration City season passes every year
I had no idea!...I am in Springfield, MO..about 40 miles north of Branson and Silver Dollar City. The Herschends buy wine from our store. I just thought they owned Silver Dollar City. Now I know why it's all hands on deck when the Herschends place a wine order!.
Great new explained series! Idea for another new series could be "How Is" this could be where you can review roller coasters so we know more about your opinion on certain rides. Example: How is Nemesis
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! I did have a review series for a little while but haven't recorded any since. Maybe that'll change in the future!
Excellent documentary. Great editing and information as well picturesque footage. The music was annoying, but you can't have everything. All brand new information to me. so thanks for the update.
Awesome as always! I would love to see (and would be more than happy to help contribute to) an "Apex Parks Group Explained" in the future. A deeper history than many think!
I would love to see a Parques Reunidos explained. They are one of the biggest amusement operators in the world by attendance and revenue but many people don't know much about them.
Hershend Family Entertainment is a company that I believe does everything right. From their Christian values to the atmosphere and quality of the attractions they own. They are an amazing company that I feel every member of the family can enjoy everything the company operates.
Very interesting. Banks lee went down into that cave for attractions Magazine, it is amazing ! Those parks are really cool 👌🏼🧱👍🏽 Disney have a strong ethic MONEY , MONEY , MONEY 💰 😂
I've thought for a while now that if Herschend were to have a corporate merger with SeaWorld, it would be the creation of the best themed amusement company outside of maybe Universal and Disney. Also for your next in this series, perhaps make a video about SeaWorld and how it grew when it was bought by Busch Entertainment Corporation.
It's odd to hear "a popular country singer at the time" in regard to Dolly Parton, because she is arguably more famous now than she was when Dollywood opened. (4:08) However, I don't know if she is as well known outside of the United States.
She is well known outside of the US, at least here in the UK! I wasn't aware of her status at the current moment so "a popular country singer at the time" felt the safest thing to say :)
Can you do Merlin: Explained? I am talking about Merlin Entertainments, which owns parks such as Alton Towers and Thorpe Park and also owns the Legoland parks.
I do believe that most people, erroneously, think Dolly fully owns Dollywood (Lord knows, she is Actually rich enough to, as she is worth well over several hundred million dollars!) but I believe she is actually only has about 1/3 ownership (and I’ve heard other reports saying she actually doesn’t have ownership and is just involved in a long running sponsorship arrangement...)...Did you find out anything that clears this up, Harry?
Have you ever thought about doing a video explaining the Tilt coaster Gravity Max in Thailand is the only one in the world that exists that I know of why don't you do a video on that coaster and explain how it works I would like to have a tilt coaster here in the US just an idea for a future video Gravity Max looks awesome and I would love to go to Thailand and ride that one day
5:00..”By nineteen-FIFTY-Five, the company made over $100 MILLION in profits”??! Okay, I’m PRETTY sure you’re A BIT off on the YEAR There, but the Profit amount seems a bit off, too!...what’s up?
You're right, every Coaster Bot video usually followers chronological order, so it doesn't make sense to jump back to 1955 at that point. I meant 1995... for some reason I've been struggling to read out the right number recently
Now do the bigger park operators, disney, universal, seasworld entertainment, merlin entertainment aka legoland, six flags and cedar fair entertainment plus park place entertainment and it main parent company.
Mannnn you deserved that "bot" part in your channel name with the way you kept simping for those "Christian" values. If their Christian values mattered so much to them they'd pay their food service employees enough to not need to print that they accept gratuity at the bottom of the bill. As far as theme parks go, these are some of the best. But their so-called "Christian" values don't make them that.
You should make the walibi chain explaind that would be awsome
Compagnie de Alpes (It's not called Walibi Chain) would be awesome yeah
Great suggestion :)
Awesome video and I can’t wait to see more from this new series. I knew Herschend was a very different company from the other theme park chains out there and this video pretty much solidified that, I can’t wait to see what they do next.

I love this series idea! AlthoughI may be already biased since Herschend is my favorite theme park chain. Maybe do SeaWorld next . . . since it kind of continues the Joel Manby saga started in this video.
Thanks! SeaWorld would be a good one to do, as well as Busch Gardens actually!
So this is the series that was teased... Theme park chains explained.
The Globetrotters part Definitely threw me for a loop...
Me too
I had no idea that the Herschend family managed aquariums. The Adventure Aquarium mentioned in the video is local to me, in Camden, New Jersey, and I've been there several time. Yeah there were quite a few interesting finds throughout the research for this video, for sure! Glad it's doing well though :)
Awesome research! You've got some of the best and most informative videos on TH-cam for coaster enthusiasts to enjoy, keep it up man!
Thank you, that really means a lot! :)
Interesting! I would love to see a video about Merlin Entertainment, or the walibi chain!
Thanks! Both are great suggestions :)
Another great Coaster Bot video. Would absolutely love to visit SDC and Dollywood. Both look like great all round experiences.
Lots of info, as we’ve come to expect. You will always learn something interesting from a Coaster Bot video.
Thank you very much! I'd love to visit both of those too also! :)

Thanks for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed it and learnt something new :)
Perfectly timed as I am going to Dollywood this Saturday!
Enjoy!
COASTER BOT 😊
Wild Adventures, by the way, was where the first Zombieland movie filmed their theme park scenes
I knew nothing about Herschend Family Entertainment until this video. I really learned a lot! Silver Dollar City and Dollywood are high on my bucket list parks to visit and I'm hoping to get to them next year. :)
I'm glad you learnt a lot! They definitely look like fantastic parks :)
Great video, very informative👍 Would love to see a Six Flags explained in the future!
Thanks, we hope to cover Six Flags in the future! :)
This Explained Series is awesome. Great learning tool for everyone. Keep it up
Thanks Brian, that means a lot :)
You could have added that Dolly Parton is a local of Sevier County TN, which is where Dollywood is located. But that is me being very nit picky and this was excellently done.
When I go to Theme Park, it is very important that the place is very clean and the food is good with places to sit!
I really enjoyed this video. It was entertaining, relaxed, and educational.
Thank you :)
Just a clarification. Celebration City didn't use a pay per ride structure. Went there many times growing up. Family would get a SDC/Celebration City season passes every year
Ah sorry, there's the confusion about the payment structure bit!
With those season passes we got free passes which we think may have contributed to Celebration City's closure. I don't recall many blackout dates.
Theme park chains explained. I love it
I had no idea!...I am in Springfield, MO..about 40 miles north of Branson and Silver Dollar City. The Herschends buy wine from our store. I just thought they owned Silver Dollar City. Now I know why it's all hands on deck when the Herschends place a wine order!.
Oh wow that's interesting to hear! :)
Kentucky Kingdom is already a surprisingly good park. Hopefully Herschend makes it even better
They will
The history of the Walibi Parks. Famous in Holland, Belgium and France.
That'd be a good one!
NEW SERIESSS!!!
love this new series!
i’d really like to see merlin or six flags
Thanks, those are great suggestions :)
Excellent documentary. Great editing and information as well picturesque footage. The music was annoying, but you can't have everything. All brand new information to me. so thanks for the update.
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Awesome as always! I would love to see (and would be more than happy to help contribute to) an "Apex Parks Group Explained" in the future.
A deeper history than many think!
Thanks! I've never hear of Apex Parks Groups, I'll have a look :)
Very interesting company, definitely worth a look!
Please do cedarfair and Merlin explained!!! Love the new series❤️❤️❤️
Thanks, those are two great suggestions!
I can remember visiting silver dollar city as a young boy in the 70's.... barely but I can remember it ;)
I would love to see a Parques Reunidos explained. They are one of the biggest amusement operators in the world by attendance and revenue but many people don't know much about them.
Great suggestions! :)
Hershend Family Entertainment is a company that I believe does everything right. From their Christian values to the atmosphere and quality of the attractions they own. They are an amazing company that I feel every member of the family can enjoy everything the company operates.
If you could cover the long and confusing history of Premier Parks that would be great
Your vids are great usually i put on one of your vids or podcasts and play planet coaster
Awesome, thanks for watching :)
Parques Reunidos would be an interesting one!
Enjoyed this! Silver Dollar City is something else!
Loved this new series. Merlin Entertainments Explained maybe?
Thanks, that's a great suggestion! :)
Very interesting. Banks lee went down into that cave for attractions Magazine, it is amazing ! Those parks are really cool 👌🏼🧱👍🏽
Disney have a strong ethic
MONEY , MONEY , MONEY 💰 😂
Thanks, the parks do look cool! :)
COASTER BOT very 🤩🧱👍🏽
The six flags video is gonna be crazy.
You know it!
That's great! Could you do a Chessington World of Adventures explained?
Gotta love how Coaster Bot finds it necessary to explain who Dolly Parton is, lol! Great video, though! Fascinating documentary.
You never know! Ha ha thank you :)
I've thought for a while now that if Herschend were to have a corporate merger with SeaWorld, it would be the creation of the best themed amusement company outside of maybe Universal and Disney. Forgetting Cedar Fair exist?
@@Clay3613 Cedar Fair is great but they don't operate Theme Parks.
@@gavinhatfield2354 Six Flags aren't theme parks.
@@Clay3613 Couldn't agree more
@@gavinhatfield2354 So what is Knot's Berry Farm but a theme park?
Interesting video and a nice new series. I am still trying to figure out what exactly is Christian about their values...
Thanks!
Why say that Wild Adventures is in Clyattville and not Valdosta? Park website and official address both say Valdosta.
It's odd to hear "a popular country singer at the time" in regard to Dolly Parton, because she is arguably more famous now than she was when Dollywood opened. (4:08) However, I don't know if she is as well known outside of the United States.

@@coasterbot Very true. You future-proofed your video. Thanks for the reply!
14:18 Parques Reunidos
Could you do one on Efteling ? I Find the way they Operate and own the park Very interresting
I'll note that down, thanks for the suggestion :)
I love love to see a video on Merlin amusements.
Keep up the good work.
Can you do Merlin: Explained? I am talking about Merlin Entertainments, which owns parks such as Alton Towers and Thorpe Park and also owns the Legoland parks.
It's a great suggestion and we do hope to in the future :)
I wish they'd buy Magic Springs in Hot Springs Arkansas
It needs someone that would love it and progress the park
My favorite chain!
Awesome!
Alton Towers explained?
"a well-know country music artist 'at the time'" made me laugh pretty hard. She's still insanely famous, lmao
Great video though!
I didn't find anything about exacts, only the fact she had a part ownership of the place like you said.
Um and there was a ride the Ducks Capsizing last year in Branson and now it’s permanently shut down
it was owned by Ripley when it capsized so maybe he felt not to mention it?
Parks And Attractions Scandinavia next?
The happy valley chain because I get confused on which one is which
do seaworld entertainment next if you want
How about Merlin Entertainments Explained
1. Disney
2.Universal
3. Herschend

My homepark is Dollywood!
They treated Darien lake very bad
always wanted to go to dollywood but i feel after watching this video it’s like a chick-fil-a situation
I'm afraid I don't get the reference, I still think it's really worth a visit!
These guys did halo outpost discovery
13:30 Well that comment aged VERY well
ha ha oops
At least they added their third RMC to the family
It seems like an oversight to mention Stone Mountain but not say anything about how deeply controversial it is.
The herschend family entertainment has our home park silver Dollar City
Around 4:59 you say 1955 but do you mean 1995?
I did, sorry!
I kinda wondered if Dollywood had anything to do with Dolly Parton!
Now you know!
This didn’t age well since they bought Kentucky kingdom in less than a year.
5:00..”By nineteen-FIFTY-Five, the company made over $100 MILLION in profits”??! Okay, I’m PRETTY sure you’re A BIT off on the YEAR There, but the Profit amount seems a bit off, too!...what’s up?

Yo
Now do the bigger park operators, disney, universal, seasworld entertainment, merlin entertainment aka legoland, six flags and cedar fair entertainment plus park place entertainment and it main parent company.
We plan to! :)
The Six Flags video like this will be like 25 minutes
Was this video produced by the Herschend family??? your glorification of them sickens me!!! I live in Branson and much of what you reported was false
Sorry you didn't like the video. What about it was false? I'd be interested in knowing more about your thoughts
Knott’s Berry Farm, plz plz plz! ❤️
Not exactly, Celebration City failed because the economy was going down the toilet.
Celebration City was failing prior to the economic downturn at the end of 2008. That probably didn't help though!
Now they bought Kentucky Kingdom
They have!
Would six flags be up next.
Herchend should get rid of Wild Adventures since they never invest in the park
Different music next time please
12:51 These have nothing to do with religious values?!
I'm not sure what you mean by this comment. Not all values are exclusively religious values?
When he said Christian 👁👄👁
Good video - horrible background music
Thanks for the feedback :)

Wild Adventures is trash
I know it seems out of place but get to EnergyLandia!
Also, SDC and Dollywood are so underrated
We really do want to visit Energylandia :)
