The screw you use to attach the knife to a wood shaft is an intelligent choice. I still have the CS large and mini bushman after over 30 years. It sucks that CS stopped making the mini which is a favorite blade for skinning large game. Thanks for your video and all the best.
I used it to cut down a lot of willow strong rods.. in 15 minutes I cut about 200 strong rods very quickly.. make or buy a short curved handle for example for a hatchet.. modify and carry with you... you have a helper faster than any machete ..no other knife in the world can do this👍
I have 4 of them. The handles have misc. gear Inside ( fishing , fire and sealed with gorilla tape) The bowie makes a good Spear.point......they are easy to sharpen .❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊
Liked the video, thanks for showing it used how its intended, i just received the American hunting spear which is awesome and i ordered the bowie bushman about 5 minutes ago lol. I think im going to like it
they are not indestructable they will break right by the handle if pressed . however if you dont abuse them they are a great secondary knife/spear . and they are cheap so buy two
Then it would have broken when he threw it into the tree multiple times. That's a lot of shock on the blade. It didn't break. Sure you can break one but you would have to bend it beyond 90 degrees or pound the hell out of it with a sledge hammer.
@@jerzy004berry9I've never owned the older model so I can't compare, but I can say I've used the hell out of my Chinese made version and it's been absolutely fine, far better than I thought it would be in fact.
there not the best survival knives but its not a bad knife for the price there is a lot of things about i don't like the ferro rod has to be glued back into the handle it don't hvae a 90 degree spine to strike it but other then that its a ok light duty camping knife and it don't have a finger guard but i do have the bowie i do like it and dislike it its a love hate kinda of thing with me and the bushman
Quite frankly, overpriced piece of crap. For normal use, it can not do for you anything that Bahco Laplander set can not do better, for less money. Or even what some Mora that costs double less want do for you. And idea of "survival" knife, that you depend on as your main and probably only cutting tool and use as throwing spear and risk it losing, or even breaking on some stone when you miss something? How about thinking twice about it? But it is everything "survival" these days, so...
It's a tough knife. Mine is 20yrs old. I enjoy watching your videos !

I like the feature turning to a spear with a stick, which is very useful in the woods survival.

Ive heard and seen videos saying the newer ones aren't as durable as the older models. Is this a newer model or older one?
It has the hard plastic sheath so it’s a newer model…….
Nice knife 🗡👍

Was a great knife. I say "was" because it is now made in China and has the has the quality of peanut brittle.
I put into usage this chinese version and still it's alive. I cut branches and i threw it. It 's razor sharp.

It's made in china not a good knife

I tend to agree, but it's twice the size of any Mora. It would be better for splitting & batoning...
Take a file to the back for ferro rods, it saves the edge, takes a minute to do.
