Ok ok ok for Toa Payoh, you need to try Hokkien Man Hokkien Mee. It is the best hokkien Mee in Singapore for me. Not the super wok hei kind, but the prawn and garlic stock used to cook it is glorious. GLORIOUS.
This stall is not the best kway Chap in this lor8 Toa Payoh hawker centre. There is another stall that opens early in the morning 6am till sold out usually by 9am.! Very long queue in the morning at 6am!
Seth, there is a breakaway stall for the white beehoon. Same venue but they are few rows behind. Is a corner stall too along the walkway and the open space between the hawker and the HDB. They are super generous with their pork lard. The stall u tried, used to eat there too and super stingy on their pork lard. Taste wise, about the same
You have to try the Ban Mian right beside the white Bee Hoon you had in lor 8 market. Lor 5 hawker centre has good fried chicken rice, bbq stingray, Ban Mian, claypot chicken rice.
can anyone pls help me answer? in sg food courts, cash or eftpos? we plan to travel from australia to sg in Jan. need to work out how much to load to our cards and how much cash to carry. thank you!!
cash is always accepted here for food courts, coffeeshops, hawker centres. but credit cards are widely accepted at restaurants/cafes although there are some exceptions. But no one will turn down cold hard cash in Singapore, unlike China :)
@@Sethluifoodtravel thank you so much. now I need to work out the best way to access cash if i need it for places like those you mentioned - a card which can be used with zero atm fee for withdrawing cash. are hsbc atm's everywhere? i choose between hsbc card and travelex card in oz (both cards seem to have no atm fee). yes ur right, when i was in china, i was shocked cash and eftpos were not accepted in many places... i have wechat, but no money no bank account linked in my wechat - i had a tough time 😂
Good review, seth does a really good job, and I do enjoy your food reviews, but I simply just can't stand Gen's super high pitch voice. Can't she just speak with a normal tone, as her high pitch is really quite annoying.

Jacks Place standard drop a lot. Tried different branches. Garlic bread not even warm, room temperature only. The soup also is room temperature.

Toa payoh has more hawkers centres than other towns. You missed 2 other tiny HCs at blk 9x and 7x. But really good food is hard to come by nowadays.
we could only do 1 hawker centre within the day! Which othe HC do you think is good?
