okay before anyone asks , im a singaporean and yes singapore's cost of living is indeed high , but this place that they visited , toa payoh , is an older estate of singapore and thus food there is much more valuable and cheap , food there taste damnnn good too. Usually older estates liek this , their residents are mainly the older uncles and aunties
You probably mean neighbourhood, right?
@@AuskaDezjArdamaath No, I imagine they mean 'estates' as in 'housing estates'. If you check out the "Public Housing in Singapore" article on Wikipedia, it's a really interesting read.
But... but no one actually asked
@@f1nalv3nt ermmm the definition of ‘before’ too hard for u to understand ??
@@aiteshi1132 my bad man... I wanted to say ‘ no ones going to ask’
I love watching these Street Food videos. For years I have wanted to visit Singapore. Someday.
Lol
Me too

I’m not sure what’s being made at the beginning, but it both scares me and delights me at the same time.
Preserved Radish, there's CC for some information there:D
It's salty
Is that oil? Like sooooo much oil.....
@@mynameis999 my eyes are Like 👀😱
It tastes really really good.
her SMILE is priceless
Wow... can you imagine 40 years down the road that these videos are used to archive Singapore's hawker culture.
Her nails look nice
I know right?😁
I'm a straight man and I thought the same thing.
@@anthonytoliver9981 you can be straight and like nails, it's ok :)
@@skippyjones180 i know i was stating that I was male and not female.
@@skippyjones180 I think he just plainly meant even a guy like him thought her nails look nice. As simple as that.
Never get tired with dancing bacon's video
I am mesmerised at the pau making uncle’s skills. That’s years of dedication right there
Ohhh Mrs Bacons can we have a bad reaction compilation of dishes that weren’t to your taste? Please, thank you, love your content!
She does, look at her face when she doesn't enjoy it, she frowns.
@@TM86880 Timestamp?
@@udaymuammar968 Sorry, no timestamp in this video, what I was referring to are their past videos!
@@TM86880 Oh, okay
@@udaymuammar968 Hey Uday, I've checked back a couple of their past videos, check out this 1 RE: th-cam.com/video/OA-B1vbo0aE/w-d-xo.html @ the 10:04 mark, she's eating an 'exotic item' but she definitely doesn't look as though she's enjoying it!
Being in a country where fast food like this is not available, you are eating in food heaven, Love the mix of Asian flavors!
Geez, the more I see your Hawker videos, the more I wanna visit Singapore. We don't have any hawkers here in Canada, at least in my province, and I find them incredibly interesting. Hope to visit Singapore when it's safe to do so
@@CobraDove1111 No it's not, you're just falling for a conspiracy theory.
@@wareforcoin5780 what did they say?
you should come
trust me bro it's phenomenal
Hawkers are unique to Singapore which is what makes them special. Great quality food for cheap but just be mindful of the crowded environment especially at night. I always love to eat omlettes there, they prepare the best omlettes!
i was from toa payoh, this brought back so many good childhood memories, thanks for sharing!
The lady is so charming and cute, she gives total comfort vibes to the video 💖💖💖
Would you say the same if they turn out to be lesbians?
@@RonLarhz why wouldn't I support my own community? It actually doesn't matter, if you don't think like that go get some therapy
Erm that is his mom😂
@@minnimousy1996 umm...😳 Damn HAHAHAHA SORRY I- BYE 🤡
No I don't think so
I lived in Singapore as a kid from 89-99, and haven't been back since my family moved to the US. Now my wife and I are planning our late honeymoon to Singapore next year, and one of the things I'm most excited about is revisiting my family's old weekend stomping grounds, Toa Payoh Central lol. I already plan on starting with Goreng Pisang and a butterfly bun in the morning!
Ahhh, ice gem biscuit. Bring back old memories. I used to only eat the gem part and not the biscuit 🤣
I don't know why these videos are so therapeutic and relaxing to watch lol
6:27 the best advice for a happy life.
LMFAO
I love watching how the food is made behind the scenes.it makes me feel like I am actually there.
I'd love to travel the world and eat amazing street foods like this!
Favorite episode so far!!! I love the amazing commentary, usually i am left guessing on what is actually being cooked but now i know!! Thank you so so much! Keep up the awesome videos you guys!
I love those, we eat them with fish sauce where I come from, so good
These videos always make me hungry but also make me appreciate just how hard these people work to earn a living. You can see how so many of them are elders who have been doing this for years and it's amazing.
Ms. Dancing Bacons is so awesome I love it!!!
They’re both Mrs bacon lol
Mr. or Mrs. Bacons, I’m so happy you have subtitles in most of your videos. Thank you very much. Love your channel and my friends now watch. Yay.
That hokkien mee is my favorite in Singapore. The carrot cake stand at the same hawker center by the hokkien mee stall is unbelievable as well.
chendol looks so interesting… from my point of view it looks more like a main dish than a dessert…. minus the shaved ice of course. definitely something I would love to try. Where I live i would have a better chance of trying it if I make it myself. I have a shaved ice maker so im assuming i can get the rest of the ingredients to make it at H-MART.
I miss being in Singapore.... 🥺 I can already smell the air just by watching this vid, thank you!
I'm so relieved when she approves!
I absolutely love watching your videos
I've never seen some of these cooked in such detail before. Thanks for showing.
Those pork buns look amazing. I'm learning to cook them myself. A lot more work than sticking a frozen pizza in the oven, but worth it.
I love eating pork buns too. The texture of the dough & the delicious pork filling. Pure comfort food. I prefer buying them. I love cooking, but do not have the patience to try make them. Good luck. 🙂
I miss Chwee Kuay so much and I am planning to make it. The street food is best in SG.
Chendol is the best excuse to eat coconut cream by the spoonful! It's so good in summer
Yes but chendol red beans nit right abd expensive also no attap seed
I can't wait to visit Singapore again 😋😋😋😋😋😋😋
Watching the practiced moments of the seasoned hawkers is like watching a well choreographed dance. Thanks for the wondering video.
sorry - wonderful video
I missed these hawker food so very much. I just wish i can eat some of this day
Your lady is so cute, she is the reason I watch. She makes me feel like the food is really great.

Wow never seen the process of cooking shui kueh b4. Didn't expect it to be tedious especially when it's so cheap
I wish he’d talk about how the food tastes like in his other videos. Besides that dancing bacons is always my go to TH-cam channel to watch!!

Yay! So happy to see a new market video! And your nails look great :D
Stuck in Europe, I mis this so much!
18:54 In Indonesia, Ice Jem Biscuits we called it “Kue Kancing”. It’s my favorite snack. 😍
Iced Gems, as we called them were a staple of my 1970s British childhood. It was nostalgic seeing them.
@@FeoragForsyth I remember my Mum giving me a round, red, Allan and Handbury’s tin of them, with a print of Winnie the Pooh on the lid.
Also remember getting my 1st cavity from them, when I scoffed the lot. Haven’t eaten them since! 🍬
Yay!! Been waiting on a street food video!! Thank u for another great video!!
That walk-through at the end was mezmerizing!!👀😍
love her smile, seems satisfied with foods😀
In india we call them(about the 1st dish in the video) "IDLI"
I had idli once and i loved it but i thought idli is a type of bread?
@@toni-kaku idli is made with rice dough
Same as in the video but we use special mould instead of small bowls to cook it
Idli is of a different consistency. I’ve had idli many times before, and i grew up eating chwee kueh. The latter is smoother, much smoother.
idli is made from a mixture of lentils and rice
South East Asian here. We've both idli and chwee kueh, so we know both food very well. While it does sorta look like idli in shape, but the texture of a chwee kueh is totally different. Idli is more breadlike whereas chwee kueh is like... chewy dense jelly like consistency.
The walk through the food hall at the end of the video was great : )
It’s amazing how they make all this food 🍱
Missing singapore hawker food😍
Thank you for the subtitles :D i love knowing whats going on!
I love the street food videos!
I'm always so excited to see new videos! =w= Someday i'll get to visit Singapore and go to these places that you have been to!
Dang! Been years watching dancing bacon but just know that it provides the caption for every components in video. Everytime I just interpreted by myself
Awesome and delicious! Thanks for sharing your Singapore food adventures.
Very nices look nices thanks 😃😃👍👍
Very clean & hygienic i can see the way they prepare the food n their hands..Keep it up..GOD BLESS..
I really admire the bun maker.
Looks exhausting all day long.🥰
Yes hard labour
Uncle Roger would freak out if he sees rice being used like this...
Also the sugarcane juice is far the best drink I ever had. There is this Chinese plaza where this guy sells a large jug of freshly squeezed sugar cane juice for no more than ten bucks. Good value. But that was like a few years ago since I last had that, I don’t even know if that guy is still selling it especially during this time of year...
NOT UNCLE ROGERRR
He isn't going to freak out because not only is it a commonly eaten Chinese food, it is also prevalent in Singapore and Malaysia so he probably grew up eating those.
Haiiyah...
@@earweatwry46u7uy5i68 You must be fun at parties.
Awesome video. Love seeing these unique food stalls/hawker stands.
I love watching these because it’s hard to have stuff like this due to all the licensing needed.
I love Mrs dancing bacon..she is so adorable 🙂
wow! i see that the food we have has so many similarities. different names, look about the same. i already can imagine the taste because of the familiarity.
I wish I could be there. The food looks so good
