  • WOW what a weekend! First off, I know we always promise the winner of each Indycar race but this week there was a test day on our normal recording day so Will Power was busy! We hope to have him on next week!
We are very excited to have the winner of the Indy NXT race though, Jamie Chadwick! She got her first win in the series and really put on a great show for everyone at Road America. I think you'll really enjoy this conversation with her.
Lots of Indycar news to discuss as well. We had a new driver in the Juncos Racing team this weekend which was a crazy story to follow as the race weekend began. We had a lot of rain for qualifying which definitely shuffled the grid a bit. Also, the worst case scenario for a team, teammates taking each other out turn 1 lap one!
As always feel free to let us know what you thought about the race weekend!

Very cool to have Jamie, I think y'all should talk about NXT a bit more, maybe 5-10 mins devoted to the NXT race so we get more familiar with the up and coming racers!

I watched from turn 8. Even though she converted pole to win it was anything but straight forward. Her restarts were great and she ran a very clean race. Very in control. It was a great race!

Always an awesome time at Road America. Great to see you in the paddock Sunday morning Conor and thanks again for taking time to take a picture with our friends daughter. It was her first race and she thought it was just the coolest. Gotta get Chase up to RA next year, will fit him perfectly.

Jamie Chadwick's win has drawn my British eyes to IndyCar for the 1st time ever.
Imagine my delight at discovering it's not all turning left.
And yeah, the tire/fuel strats make it all so much more interesting than F1 is without it.
I've binged this season's highlights today - man, have I been missing out on some awesome racing.

I think your the only one in the 2009 Pro Mazda Series to actually make it to Indy (Conor brings it up around the 42 minute mark for those confused)

Interesting episode, as usual. I'm still trying to get up to speed in Indycar, but I'm getting there. The interview with Jamie was excellent. Maybe when you need a subject for your podcast on an off-week, you can get some of the women from the NASCAR feeder series on along with women Indy drivers to compare experiences. Please keep up the Ricky Treadway Random Indy Car Driver of the race feature. You've stumbled across some very interesting individuals.

Congrats to Jaime, this is a Caitlin Clark like realization moment that women can do anything they want. As a lifelong fan and father of 3 girls this great so glad for her and all women.
Would like to know a bit more on the Canapino issue. To me its simple he should have condemned it immediately and juncos should have made sure that happened, regardless of culture

With the benefit of hindsight now that Augustin has been invited back to drive the 78, I wonder how wise it was of Nolan to skip the Lights race, a significant setback if he still hopes to win that championship.

So excited for Jamie. I've been watching her since she entered Indy NXT and I was sure this day would come. She may be the first female 500 winner. As for Canapino, you said he was at the autograph session. Do you think it's possible a fan or fans said something that shook him up? That might explain the sudden decision for him to sit out the race.

    • @ConorDaly22

Sorry late comment, but with all the weirdness surrounding Augie Canapino/JHR, do you think there's a connection to how happy and positive Romain seemed over the weekend, and what a strong drive he put in--with Canapino not there? Especially compared to how miserable he's seemed all season? With the mystery of why Canapino was replaced by Siegel not answered, two things are for sure: 1--he didn't volunteer to miss the race (what top level race car driver would? And over big bad meanies online?? Naw bro) so 2--JHR pulled him from the car. Maybe he's a real problem in the team, and they were looking for an excuse to dump him? And now the lawyers or combing through his contract to see if they can find language for a for-cause termination? Total speculation obviously, but it makes as much sense as anything else I've heard (which is nothing)...any thoughts?

    • @ConorDaly22
      @ConorDaly22  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

I think that’s a stretch honestly. I think it’s very easy to think we know what’s going on. But honestly, the online abuse is way worse than people who never have to deal with it can believe. I’ve had random idiots come after me for years on the internet and it’s easy to say “oh that can’t be that bad…” but you will never know.

Hey Conor. Sorry if this is late, but I found the Colten Herta Interview where he said he would bring a gun. It came from the Fronstretch Open Wheel channel TH-cam channel, where it actually has the sound interview of Colten Herta saying that.
In all seriousness, I feel like Colten Herta should take some sensitivity training or get penalized, because you can't say death threats like that and not get away with it.

@@ConorDaly22 Hey Conor. I respect that, and I could be completely wrong, but how can you tell if its Sarcasm? It sounds like Colten Herta was planning to say this right when he got out of the car, like it was the heat of the moment.

I’m just trying to say something like this is just so far into the sarcasm category and people every day make joke comparisons using wild terminology. @@ConorDaly22 I like F1 and Indycar! I try not to compare them cause they may be similar looking to the layman, but they couldn't be more different. If an F1 race and Indycar race is on at the same time im watch f1 100% of the time though. The racing may not be as close and fender to fender.... but it's the way faster cars, way better drivers (at least the top 12 or so in F1. I think the top 5-6 in Indycar are way better than the billionaire spawns that fill the back of the F1 field), world-class development and engineering, corporate espionage, and all types of stuff like that to keep me engaged. Indycar I feel like I can just tune in turn my brain off and watch a race. There are a ton of shity drivers who wreck too much and I feel like I'm watching too many laps behind the pace car. They can't even get a rolling start right half the time.

@@mgers75 honestly… you lost me at “f1 drivers being more talented” that is the most ignorant thing ever and honestly just flat out stupid. Our field is bigger, so the percentage of drivers who don’t deserve to be there are of course bigger than F1. But Zhou, Stroll… even Perez dude. Perez paid huge money to be there. Driving around a Red Bull in last place. Indycar has a few guys as well but not as much. This is just such a ridiculous thing to say about both forms of racing.
