    Thanks for all your comments guys! Really appreciate it, the issue has now been resolved after taking the car to a Honda specialist. Full video update is here:

    Turns out the PCV valve needs replaced 😅 simple fix and had everything reset aswell so now the over-revving is fine.

    Use Shell VPower every 4th fill up or more often if you can afford it.

    Agreed with pcv valve. When you clean the throttle body out you have to do a relearn process dude. Take it to honda or a specialist they will do it.

    I had a hyundai coupe before my fn2, it used to do that, never figured out why.

    The Revving going up or down in neutral could indicate a vacuum leak or faulty idle air control valve. The idle air control valve is the component that is responsible for maintaining and adjusting engine idle speeds. If it malfunctions it may cause an erratic or irregular idle, as you are experiencing. You mentioned jerkiness, I had this problem on my FN2, i would start it from cold and then it would kangaroo down the street until it warmed up and then it was fine. Took mine the dealership had the top Honda mechanic there drove it and he said clutch instantly. I then went to an independent small garage for a 2nd opinion they said it needed clutch as well so Turns out mine was the clutch, as I’ve had that done and it’s fixed my jerkiness.
    If it was me depending on how long you’ve owned it for and mileage and stuff, and what’s been done or not done, I’d do a service on it, oil filter, fresh oil, air filter. Spark plugs for piece of mind, I did the fuel pump/filter on mine as well, I’d also Change the PCV and perhaps look at getting the valve clearances checked and adjusted if needed

      Thanks for the comment mate! Yeah it’s doing exactly that with the jerkiness although with time gotten slightly better. It is a higher mileage one and last serviced around 5000miles ago. I’ll see if I can get Honda to look at it if it doesn’t improve or issue isn’t solved.

    i had something similar on a mk1 focus years ago. The rubber manifold tube had a hairline slit and it would expand with the air pressure. but when stopped with the bonnet up you couldn't tell it had a split. it wound me up for ages.

  • @tomhet99

    This is mapped in from factory as a rev hang to give a smoother ride less jerky off throttle. Mine became super noticeable and way worse /longer after I cleaned my throttle body! Cure for that is idle relearn procedure with snap on diagnostics . Alternatively, rev hang can be entirely disabled with flashpro! It's a bit jerky off throttle though, instantly cuts the power so you have to feather off the throttle :)

    No choke and no carb mate as it's not a carburetored engine but a fuel injection engine. Also did you push the flap inside the fuel nozzle? There's a little flap that stops water and muck getting in to the fuel tank, if you don't push it down with something then it all just pours down the side and none of it goes into the tank. I found that its best to use two bottles of redex when you have half a tank or less, everytime you fill up put two bottles in and after a few fill ups you'll definitely have a cleaner engine.

    • @racinggeeks9495
      @racinggeeks9495  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers mate, yeah you’re correct it is a fuel injection engine🙏🏽 Yeah I’ve used a full bottle so far and I filled up the tank full with petrol today and added some more Redex. Hopefully will give it another week to see if it helps! I’ll keep that in mind about the flap 👌🏽

    After cleaning the throttle body you need to use a diagnostic machine and relearn the throttle position. Ep3s have a cable throttle, fn2s have electronic throttle.

    • @racinggeeks9495
      @racinggeeks9495  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks mate 👌🏽 I’ve got a diagnostic machine so I’ll definitely hook it up to see if there’s any error codes in relation to the electronic throttle. Could be right that it’s the throttle position.

    Get some maf cleaner and give the maf a clean and the connector for the maf also the throttle body. Get some carb cleaner and clean in the throttle body espically where the arm is that hows the round disc and see if that does anything .
