Thanks for a great video. It was good to see the challenge from your point of view. Stavros had problems with the ESB network, you didn't appear to have many problems.
Great video Derek, thanks for putting in the effort - classic public service broadcasting. You mentioned you did not use Air Con. Is there any way to guesstimate the impact of using AC? My experience with ICE and AC is that if you do not use it, you lose it. Seals dry and crack leading to poor AC performance. Further, by not using AC which is now regarded as the standard level of driving comfort, are we expected to endure a reduced level of creature comforts in an EV? I'd appreciate your thoughts. Keep up the great work!
Excellent video. Might jist get the mokka next. It shows over 300km on the GOM. Where as my corsa only ever Shows 230km. Due software update next week. Might help.
Thanks for the comment and question Stephen. I used it for speed more than economy as I was trying to get it to 1,000kms as fast as I could go. I would have thought that ACC would be better than feathering the throttle but you may have it down to an art. What speed would you normal set it at?
@@NevoEVReviewIreland I drive a Skoda Kodiaq so you will need a Tesla 😂 huge fan of EVs just not enough to justify the massive purchase price difference (low annual mileage)
Thanks for the comment Eamonn. Best to keep it for as long as you can to make it's carbon footprint over it's life as small as possible. New ICE vehicles may be more practical but not for the air quality so we may have to change our ways.
Early start and late finish. Let me know if you'd like more 1,000km challenges.

Thanks for the comment Philip. Yes, it's very much the luck of the draw on the day, traffic didn't help him either.

Thanks David. I normally use AC when I'm and about. It would probably have made no difference as I was using speed and fast charging.
Well done, Derek...Some effort!
Thanks Blake. I knew about it the next day
What's the story with the free years driving when easy go install charger. We spoke to them re installation and no one mentioned it
Thanks for the comment Michael. It was credit they would add to your account. Let me see if they are still running that offer
Hi guys. Any update on the credit offer with the charger?
I've put a call in and waiting on word back. Have you reach out and asked directly Michael? The offer may no longer be there and I was not informed
I will contact them this week as I think I will be using them. They are very helpful. Their charger will match the roof of my new Mokka
great video EV Review Ireland !
Thanks Alex, glad you enjoyed it
Great video… that was a lot of work! Sadly another car that will not come to the US. What’s next? A 2,000 km road trip video?
A lot of work is correct and then you mention doubling it! No thanks to 2,000

Fingers crossed Paul. Mokka-e is a great car.
Great effort 👌🏻 Q Does adaptive cruise control not make the drive less efficient? I've noticed in my leaf that the economy is worse when I use it.

@@NevoEVReviewIreland normally around 105km/h on motorway.
How long in miles or how many hours was your journey and how many times did you need to charge up in that time? It's unclear lol
Apologies. 621 miles, 7 charging stops and 12hrs 15 mins.
You could have even went faster and cheaper. Ionity was overkill if you only needed 100kw. As you left with 100% you should have ran it down to
12hrs 50 mins ain’t bad, I’d say you could have gotten a half hour off that!
Thanks for the comment Stuart....I feel we need need our own 1000km challenge 😉
To my knowledge the ESB high power are not fully ramped yet and only giving 80kWs
@@NevoEVReviewIreland 🤦🏻♂️ what is wrong with this country. There probably isn’t a country better suited to EVs than Ireland.

You were lucky you didn't do it on Sunday the 1st in the afternoon as the complete Ionity network was down.
Thanks for the comment Jody. It's all down to luck on the day 😉
The ICE still wins for practicality! Won't be swapping my diesel any time soon!

So who won the challenge? 😅
Maybe I didn't make it clear, I did it about 2 hrs faster than Stavros, you need to watch his video to see.
@@NevoEVReviewIreland why 2 hours faster. Lol. Did he go the scenic route that gogle sends you
@@Id3fornow... I watched Stavros's video on it, and he accidentally drove into Dublin and got stuck in traffic.
