Lewis is one of the best pilots we have on staff. Very professional. He does his homework. He will be a captain soon and a fine one he’ll be. Silver is lucky to have him !
Thank you so much, Captain! I’m thankful to have had you as my instructor on the Saab and then check airman on the ATR. I’ve learned a lot from you and it means a lot that you think so highly of me!
@@LewDixAviation I am looking at regional airlines right now, and I was wondering why you chose to go to silver as it is a lower pay than most of the other regional airlines? Thanks
Honestly, after watching this video, when I get to 1500 hours, Silver Airways will probably be the first I apply to. Just the thought of being with a small group of pilots that know me and would know how I fly is a dream. Also, I live in Alabama, so moving to Florida wouldn't be a far move. Great video! One of my favorites.
Mate that video shows what a true professional you are It would be a privilege and an honour for anyone to fly with you Keep up the awesome work👏🏴
Thanks for the video. Been watching for a few years. Got my PPL this past July after daydreaming about it for 40+ years. I really appreciate your content and it was very helpful to me during my training. As a lifelong world traveler and former paratrooper in the army I have spend a lot of time in airplanes as a passenger. I hope Silver Airline appreciates that these kinds of videos engender confidence in the professionalism of pilots and crew. Please let whoever gave you permission know that we are appreciative. Thanks.
This was an amazing video! Thanks Lewis, Ben, and Silver management for making this happen! If you go on about your flying eyes discount, Lewis, you have to get us a 10% discount for Silver too so we can come fly with you
Fantastic video and good on Silver Airways for letting you film it so we can all experience something new. Also, great flying! It's cool seeing you in something other than GA. 11 days until my private checkride! Great job!
Dude this was seriously one of the best videos I've watched in a long time. I really feel that passion to fly reinvigorated and I can't wait to get back up in the air next weekend. Awesome stuff man! Blue Skies!
Mate, it's so good to see you up there. You deserve to enjoy the seeds of all the hard work you've put into your dream and your passion. Keep it up. On topic. You guys made it look soo easy, you are clearly talented :D. I still can't get the warrior down as nicely as you get this beast.
Great video Lewis, and hello from Newcastle, UK. Flew Silver from MCO to KEYW and was impressed back in May. Actually hired a C172 whilst over there from Van Anda at Orlando Exec, thought I may bump into you, maybe next time! Keep up the great work!
GREAT flying. You're both very humane and proficient. I can tell right away that it would be an absolute joy to fly with Lewis. What a great cpt. Genuine fella.
I like hearing that you said how others have said that you have helped them. What you have helped me with is my landings. Those have helped me quite a bit. The other help has been the radio calls. I got my private flying from my Dad's private airstrip and into uncontrolled airports. So needless to say my radio calls with ATC are lacking compared to uncontrolled airspace. But I enjoy that you include that in your videos. I'll be listening to the radio calls and then repeating back. So far it has been helping quite a bit. Thank you for another great video here.

Great Video Lewis. I have watched loads of your stuff but this one is different. Gives a fantastic insight into flying the ATR, and the sense of (and real need for) teamwork in the cockpit. Back from MAN tomorrow so guess it'll be a bit more jetty ... shame. Keep up the good work! Love your vids!
1. Silver also offers bonuses that I don’t need to sign a contract for. 2. 10 years connections? Not thank you, in about a year(or less) I can have a sweet job at JetBlue and the way the industry is moving at this point you can go anywhere without having to sign a long 5 year contract in a regional. 3. Turboprops are fun and I wanna give it a try 4. They have a Base at PR, I’m from there so I wanna be home for a while before going to any legacy. At the end every decision is a personal preference and for personal reasons ☺️
10:00 great view of Anna Maria. We love to go there every year for our beach vacation. I can't wait to fly my own plane down there after I buy next year.

I’m in So Cal and have completed my private, complex, instrument and now working on my commercial. Thanks again for sharing your videos!
Man this is so cool! I wanna be a pilot so badly but videos like this inspire me even more. Although I will say it also makes me nervous, to see how proficient you both are and how much goes into the whole Flight, it seems almost impossible to learn all that stuff, but I know it’s possible. I’m 30 years old and my goal is to be a pilot by the time I’m 40. Love this content!
You can be a pilot in as little as ten hours or less as in you are alone called solo up in the air all you around the airport to landing training type airplane but very much real flying or hang gliding very much real flying.Or if you want to go more complex earn money more then you have to learn to fly in weather Ifr learn aircraft systems ect.

Nice to see some ATR driver content with a few (Albeit abbreviated) SOPs. That climb rate! Must have you double-triple checking the airspeed! It's like flying in the winter here - I'll be climbing out at 90 knots in a PA-28 before I remember I can actually point the nose at the sky! Summer time, point the nose at the sky = die 😁
Brilliant videos, really enjoy watching them. Do the Florida thunderstorms cause you many issues? I imagine the intra-Florida trips can get a bit problematic between 2pm and evening during wet season?
Yea they can be troublesome but airmass thunderstorms usually dissipate fairly quickly so it doesn’t impact us too much. Having weather radar helps a lot.
