Great video. Just a few notes about who is who: Israel Hands is also a character in Treasure Island. Ben Gunn is too. Ned Lowe was an actual pirate. A 4th category could be historical representations as the Maroon Queen is based on Queen Nanny of the Jamaican Maroons. Eleanor and Richard Guthrie are loosely based on a Scottish merchant family in Nassau. Finally, the character of Julius was based on the slave revolt leader in the Bahamas, Caeser.
I stopped watching the series at the begining of season three, but the relationship between Billy Bones and Captain Flint seemed to be going in the direction of the Stevenson book. In the book Treasure Island Stevenson says that Bones was Flint's caretaker in the final years of his life. If the reader wants he or she can read that Bones and Flint were a gay couple and Bones took care of Flint until his bitter end. Maybe its just the romantic in me, but the series establishes Flint as gay and Bones falling into thrall to him.
