Whatever works for you and is comfortable. Sweat burns my eyes. I usually keep a bandana tied to my shoulder strap but last hike I tied it around my head like that. Worked great.

I like your new look! It makes sense to keep the sweat out of your eyes and it sounds like it’s helped with the Knats also!

I think the bandanna and hat together is a great idea! I watched a hiker last year who wore his bug net across the top of his head to cover his ears but not his face. That may help with the claustrophobia 😊 he kind of wore it like ladies wear a scarf over their head and tied under the chin. I felt so terrible for you when that man wouldn’t accept Leo on his property. But I imagine you probably would sleep better in the quiet of the woods 🥰🥰

Had a similar experience to you when I hiked through Dalton last year with Luna. After Tom’s was a no go, a dugout by a baseball field was where Luna and I hid from the rain! Keep it moving! 💪🏼

Interesting day with all the critters, sorry the walk through Dalton didn't turn out quite like one would have expected.

Sorry Dalton was a dud, saw previous comnent regarding Tom's, but at least you could have gotten a good meal out of it. Please show Leo's lovely mug next time you check in with Rambino. Sure the viewers would enjoy seeing him & hearing of the amazing companionship he's providing ontrail. Get a sweatband, promise we won't laugh.

Since you are willing to try anything, you might consider a buff. They can be worn so many ways, over your head and ears and forehead, around your neck to covering your mouth and nose…. Just a thought.

On the trail functionality trumps fashion hands down! Love the picture of the pink lady slippers ! Thank you! Well your day didn’t go as planned BUT… you made it work for you, and bonus, a few more miles added to the day! Keep pushing those miles….Hike on….

      If that’s a private residence,
And he lets people stay for free, I understand his thinking. He could loose his home and everything if a dog bite/fight (stray dogs came through n your dog was there and tbe stays attacked your dog), your dog had rabies , your dog just out of blue did a 360 and bit someone because he was hot and tired and wanted to sleep and they wanted to pet him, if he lets your dog stsy he has to let everybody’s dog stay.
He isn’t running a business. He isn’t running a homeless shelter or any shelter where he’s state affiliated.
It’s a private residence as I understand it.
My son was bitten severely in face by a dog at neighbors when he was 10 or so. It was in our neighborhood and the friend and dog and him grew up for years and years together. Out of blue my son was on their sofa and sleeping over (nothing new) watching tv laying on saga and he reached down and petted the dog. The dog I guess didn’t want to be petted that day. He reached up and took a chunk out of my sons face.
No. Master sue, YOU don’t know about all places with service dogs.

No. Tom wants Leo there, he's not allowed to.( Tom's been hosting hikers for 45 years! )A previous hiker, years ago, had a newly found dog , stayed at Tom's, and the dog bit a neighborhood kid. Now hes not allowed to have dogs. 😊 Bacon Wrap

That’s very intersting, because that is the example I pointed out… before knowing anything or reading this comment. My son was bitten by a dog he knew … you can read my comment. Point is, I didn’t even know this. It’s sad that we have to think about things like this. My point was to try to explain the realities of the situation, so he didn’t feel shunned or left out. It’s a different world now.
Private property is a different thing.

❤ I believe Leo probably has better manners and sensibility than some people who have stayed there! My brother has a service dog with paperwork that prevents discrimination, but like you said “ can’t educate everybody about service dogs” I don’t want to be anywhere that doesn’t accept a dog! ❤LEO❤️

So democracy is the representative election of people who are there to represent their best wishes. Populism is not right wing, it is the basic reason for more people to vote for the person.

I used to do the same thing with my buff, hat and bug net covering my ears and back of my neck. It really helped mentally when I couldn’t hear things buzzing around my ears.
It is annoying when people don’t understand the laws regarding service dogs. We went thru the same thing!!
